  1. This is entirely possible. Seems Steam installs an incompatible version of SKSE and I had to remove that and install the one linked here on Nexus to get racemenu working. I like the making of BSA idea and will have to make sure my custom race file gets one when done. It was after getting SKSE working and then RaceMenu that the issue started. I don't have any mods affecting Riverwood though except Bijin's makeovers for NPCs and Modpocalypse(s). I doubt either of these use SKSE since I haven't reinstalled it after the fresh install. I had MO before and it is a great app but it wouldnt let me control where data files would be stored and as such filled up my tiny c drive (256GB ultra speed NVME) rather than using my 2TB nvme d drive or the 4 TB SATA SSD or the 2x 16TB HDD. This is why I dont use it anymore. Besides, I only use 146 mods. I could list them from memory if it wouldnt take so long to type. I know what each mod does and where it put files (though not every single file -- i have to zips to tell me that). So might not been SKSE after all, that's good news. Might also be why I couldn't get SkyUI and MCM to work.
  2. As soon as Ralof and PC entered Riverwood and Ralof spoke "Gerdur" the game would crash to desktop. I disabled every single mod and it still did it. I thus concluded it had to be SKSE and since RaceMenu requires SKSE, both were removed and it hasn't happened since. This isn't a request for help. I've learned one thing these past few weeks and that is people don't take kindly to people not using a mod manager and I wont use them.
  3. I withdraw the request since I deleted racemenu and skse since the game was unplayable with these installed. (kept crashing at exact same place until i reinstalled the game after deleting the entire skyrim folder)... I would still like to have her face on my character but it will never happen unless I edit the mesh directly which I am unqualified to do.
  4. Simply delete the mesh from the character assets folder and the game will revert to the vanilla body. I too despise the bodyslide app but it does have it's place and uses in the community... Personally, though, I want a realistic female body not the overly sexualized garbage flooding the community these days...
  5. What was it Nike likes as their slogan? oh, yea, just do it. THere are at least 4 different versions of half-dragon races on nexus and I would guess as many off site. All versions of the same idea. You contacted the original mod author and they weren't interested so go for it. I made my own version of the half dragon race too so soon there will be 5 on nexus.
  6. fair enough... just seemed unusual not getting any reply on any post, lol
  7. I am really beginning to think I am being ignored on this forum. I have a few posts here yet not one person has ever replied to anything. I'm probably being paranoid. I'd have paid to get this done but I guess no one is interested or they'd have responded by now. I read a lot of talk about how friendly the community is and how helpful. I have to say that I don't see it. No matter. I hope no one ever treats any of you the way all of you have treated me.
  8. looking for someone to sculpt this face into a racemenu preset you can set it to a nord if you like; i've tried for three hours, i cannot get the lips right and no lip presets work and, her mouth makes or breaks the model
  9. As some here likely know I've been working on my own custom race a while now. The female is near complete. I have to add the scars (they're not yet available in chargen) but I am not here for that. I am searching for how the devs stretched the ears for the elves and orc. I have checked and rechecked the source files for both races and they use all the same base data files. Both races use femalehead.nif which is the same head used by the human races. I checked the texture files and while I am no expert, i couldnt "see" any ear stretch that would indicate how this was done. I can only assume this was done by script or hardcoding but I hope I am wrong. If anyone has any info that will explain this to me, I would appreciate it. Linking to mods, however, doesn't help or answer the question so please don't. Yes, I am aware I can add the ears in racemenu which is fine for those who like and use racemenu -- i am not one of those people. I would my custom race to have custom ears. IF it's not possible, so be it but my mod does not require any other mod to work and i plan to keep it that way. Thank you. I mistakenly posted this in the modding forum, apologies; i will figure out how to delete that post eventually...
  10. this is too funny, would be a hoot to see. Be funnier it the mannequin could relialiate.

  12. its a mod... i had it to; daedra island or something along those lines... i rook it out
  13. So this image shows my application of an effect shader to the player's skin, i cropped the image to hide nudity. i am looking for assistance from the community to 1. make the effect stop disappearing where the camera points at the character and 2. dull the effect strength or brightness... i did this to simulate her heritage as a half dragon because i refused to use an argonian skin on my half-dragon and i am not capable of creating a true half dragon skin (no artistic talent whatsoever) I can include a screenshot of the effect shader bit no need since it's the magic dragons skin one, just recolored to the current coloring; i have zero knowledge in this field and it took me a week to get this far so i would greatly appreciate any help at all... thanks in advance
  14. I really don't expect a reply anymore but I thought if I explained what I am trying to accomplish and what I've tried already, someone might offer their expert opinion. So, I created my own custom half-dragon race and everything about it works perfectly with one exception. I want my half dragon to have scales but I am unable to edit textures because I never learned such skills. The game's Dragonhide spell applies a scale-like texture to the caster as well as damage resist. When I set this spell to auto cast on the race, it works flawlessly - the texture overlay is applied to my race and it's persistent. Exactly what I want. If I duplicate the spell and effect and then use those duplicates, the texture does not get applied - ever. It's almost as if the effect is hard coded to only work with the Dragonhide spell effect, ArmorFFSelf100. I've tried directly calling the effect, ShieldArmorRitualBodyFX, or something to that effect, to no avail. The game will simply not apply the effect without the spell. I even tried using a script to apply the effect, defaultaddeffectshaderscript, using the MagicArmorDragonFleshFXS effect shader. This also failed. I have concluded that this particular effect shader is hardcoded to only be usable by the engine by the Dragonhide ArmorFFSelf100 effect is used. I am now scrapping the project and moving on to something with an actual community that supports and encourages others. I get that this is an old game and most have moved on but the traffice since my original post tells me that more than a few are still about and they're just ignoring requests for help. Thanks to all who read my posts. Happy gaming.
  15. I really need help with this. I cannot figure out what I did wrong here. Anyone?
  16. So I made my custom race. She's a half-dragon. I won't get into the specifics why I won't use existing half dragon mods. I just have a question why something is happening in game and how to change it, if possible. So, I used a custom perk to apply all the racial abilities to the race. One of those abilities is the damage reduction. For this I used the armor-draogonhide spell. I chose this because it applies a custom scale-like overlay onto the characters skin. I want this overlay. The problem is that the overlay doesn't appear any more. The perk applies everything correctly, It's just the visual effect that's missing. I didnt create a custom effect so that's not the issue. I am using the built in armorff100 I think is the name of the effect. Like I said, it worked the very first time but hasn't since. Any thoughts? Even if it's to apply the visual effect as a fake spell. That would work but I have no idea how to implement such a thing or if it's even possible. Thnaks in advance for reading.
  17. Awesome. A million thanks for the responses. I was hoping one existed without needing SKSE but I imagine it's just not possible without it. As one of the few who cannot get SKSE to work properly, I won't be able to use it. Still, thanks!!
  18. Ever find an item in the game with the perfect enchantment only to sell it because your player didn't or couldn't use the item? I'm searching for a mod that would allow the player to transfer such an enchantment from one item to another. There should be a cost to transfer the enchantment and a risk of the transfer failing. Just as an example, I found a two-handed weapon in the game with an awesome fire enchantment that doesn't require charges. My play style is archery or one handed. I'd love to transfer the enchantment of the big weapon to a crafted one handed sword. Any ideas would be forever welcome. Thanks for reading.
  19. OMG... that is really huge mod. Thanks for let me know about this mod. And broken as are most other mods that were once decent.
  20. After a hundred failed searches I must post that I am looking for a scaled skin texture for my player character. Said skin will need to be compatible with the vanilla body and skeleton. I have searched google, bing and yahoo and all searching has led back to Nexus and to body textures that have no scales. I do not want an Argonian body repainted. I do want a HUMAN female and male body texture that is scaled instead of skin and can be colored. Seems simple enough and I tought it would be easy to find. I was so wrong. I am willing to purchase the texture(s) and/or models if necessary depending on the price. Please do not send me links to anything on Nexus already. I've seen a thousand pages of skins and textures and overlays I DO NOT WANT. NO NUDITY.
  21. I am looking for clothing models for my mod. Said clothing should come with a few colors and I am hoping to get access to ninja style cloth and paddded clothing. I would need body, feet, gloves and hood (with and without masks). Before anyone suggests the DB set, please note that I specified cloth. The textures should be cloth like. Thanks in advance to all.
  22. i like the darkness idea. Too many of the game's dungeons are better lit than the surface at noon on a clear day. I dont know how to improve the enemies' sight but you may want to check out the detection mod on Nexus. I dont recall the name of it but it improved enemies detection AI so well that my sneaky character has issue sneaking up on anyone. Hope it helps. If I can remember the name I will edit this post.
  23. That's what I thought. The condition simply does a keyword count of equipped items and if it finds the right value (or more) it applies the effect. I am having an issue with one of the effects not coming off after removal though. Wearing four pieces grants a muffling effect. This isnt the perk because I wanted to stack with the perk and potion. It worked and applied my spell effect but when I had the character take off the armor, the effect stayed. I am thinking I may need to use a script here or not use muffling since the scripting in this game is nightmarish.
