  1. It's an issue with Province Cyrodiil: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/44922?tab=posts I disabled nearly everything looking for the source of that bug. At least I know the cause of the problem now. =)
  2. Yeah, this is happening in Seyda Neen. Hm. I'm going category by category at this point. The housing mods look okay. I'm going to check the factions next. Thanks for taking a look at this. I have far too many mods, and it's tough to know where this might be coming from. I suspect it's a mod I haven't used before, though, since I haven't seen this happen in past playthroughs.
  3. One of my plugins must be causing this error where all NPCs say "I am an Imperial guard" when I ask about their background. I searched for this error, but I couldn't find anything about it. I've tried disabling a few mods, including Yet Another Guard Diversity, Imperial Legion Expansion, and Legion at the Siege of Firemoth. I haven't been able to determine the cause of the error so far. My mod list:
  4. I'm doing a new install using Lexy's SRLE mod list along with (probably too many) other mods. I've experienced a few CTDs. The first was in leaving Helgen when I tried to open a Honningbrew barrel in the Helgen dungeon. After two CTDs, I left them alone. My next CTD was after the conversation with Gerdur. When she offers her key and her inventory opens, I get a CTD there. The third CTD is when I ask Orgnar what he has to sell, and the game crashes before his inventory opens. I can shop with Lucan at the Riverwood Trader with no problems. I've tried waiting 4 days in-game, but I'm still getting CTDs on Orgnar. I've searched for other people who have had this issue. One common reason is a bugged item in merchants' inventory, but I haven't been able to track it down. I've looked around in xEdit to see if any items are bugged. Prior to starting, I applied the conflict filter and tried to fix any conflicts I found there. A few item records are marked in fuschia in xEdit, and I can't seem to resolve those conflicts. I also added the AddItemMenuLE mod to see if I could find a bugged item there. (I did realize I had installed aMidianborn Content incorrectly with this mod.) System specs: Processor: Intel Core i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20 GHz Installed RAM: 16.0 GB 64-bit operation system, x64-based processor Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 460 Edition: Windows 10 (64 bit) Mod List: https://modwat.ch/u/MacBone/plugins Edit: I was able to fix the CTDs. CACO Patches had some errors and missing keywords in xEdit. I went through and deleted the errors and null references. There's no crash now from opening Honningbrew barrels, and I can talk to Gerdur and Orgnar without the game crashing.
  5. This mod is both fun and frustrating. I do like the different quests offered, like the oath that sends the player to tombs to clean them out for a nice bonus. I hate the pickpockets, though, and the mod seems impossible to remove due to the changes the mod's AddtoLevel script changes leveled lists. I'm using a No Pickpockets patch for the mod, but it seems to have no effect. As with any other mod, try this one out first before you add it to your permanent game file.
  6. Thanks for this write-up! It's very helpful as I struggle through with my Oblivion modding.
  7. For official patched plugins plus some bug fixes, I recommend the Patch for Purists: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45096 To increase draw distances, use MGE XE: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/41102 The Morrowind Code Patch also has a lot of fixes and is recommended for a more stable playthrough. If you want a vanilla experience, don't select the gameplay changes like fast casting: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/19510 I don't know if Mod Organizer works with Morrowind, but I've never heard it mentioned, so it probably doesn't. Wrye Mash is helpful: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/27588 In general, modding is straightforward. Most mods have readmes that explain how to add the plugins. You basically drag and drop them into their folders. This guide details what you need for a mostly vanilla setup: https://www.reddit.com/r/Morrowind/comments/17f4yv/guide_vanilla_morrowind_improved/. BTB's version of the Morrowind Patch Project is an alternative to the Patch for Purists, but the latter is actively maintained. One last thing. I know you said you didn't want a graphical replacer, and Morrowind's graphics still hold up well, but there's the HD Vanilla Textures Replacer (https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45247) which takes the original low-res textures and sharpens them. The results are very good, and they're the original textures. There's also an update for some tree meshes that improves optimization called the Morrowijd Optimization Patch: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45384
  8. The Ghostfence Replacer is based on MW concept art, probably from Kirkbride. Face of the Hortator is based on more MW concept art. Reclamations in Holamayan includes a fresco with art from Kirkbride.
