  1. FOMM = Cant get past the "can not find the Fallout 3 directory"

FOMM works fine for extracting Skyrim. If you don't have FO3 or FONV you can make a copy of your Skyrim.exe and re-name it Fallout 3.

I don't even think you have to go that far. When you right click on a bsa file just associate it with FOMM. Then when you double click it it will open up in FOMM.

  2. While returning to Riverwood after completing the Bleak Barrow Falls quest I was stopped by 3 Imperial soldiers who told me that the area I was in was off limits and I had to pay money in order to carry on. I was a little bit confused out as I thought the Imperials were law abiding. To cut a long story short I decided I wasn't going to pay and a fight ensued. It wasn't until I had walked maybe another 50 metres when I stumbled across 3 dead Imperial soldiers that had been stripped of their weapons and armor. It was cool to think that bandits had the cunning to pretend to be soldiers in order to extract cash from travellers.

When I made my way to Whiterun shortly after I chanced upon a farmer walking along with a cow that was painted in blue paint. He told me he was taking it to a Giant's camp as a sacrifice so that they would leave their crops alone for the harvest.

Those two encounters really made my day.

  3. Very slightly OT/

I have always liked the way that in Oblivion MMM had his monsters have a range of levels. That way you were never sure what you were going to encounter but you always knew that bandits, for example, were not going to be above say level 10. This also did away with the ridiculous loot drops as well.

  4. Any pick axe should work as far as I'm aware.

Are you certain they are ore veins.

It is actually possible to just equip a pick axe and take swings at the vein to mine the ore. It's actually quicker this way :)

  5. Or to make it even simpler use the console

    Press ~

    and type

    set timescale to 1

That will make 1 minute real time to 1 minute in game. Be aware though that this could have unexpected side effects to your game.

IMHO a timescale of 8 is about perfect.

  6. I always see people wanting to turn this off.

I'm wondering how you get any of the missions done?

Do you just wander around aimlessly tell you find what you are looking for.

Do you have some notepad next to you that you log down everything a quest giver is saying.

    I'm honestly just wondering....

or is it more for the dungeon crawl so that you don't feel like you are just being lead??

I really am curious about this.

My way of role playing is to turn it on when the quest is initially given so that I know where and in which direction I need to head out. I then turn off all markers and only look at my map again if I venture across any friendly NPC's who "tell me" where I am.

I find that I still get my sense of adventure while also being able to complete quests.

In saying that, it can be frustrating when you don't find any friendlies for a while but can be quite entertaining to find out just how off track you can end up!

  7. Alright. I'm almost 80% sure i know which mod it is that is causing the problems but i forgot the exact files that are associated with it. all i know is it's a mod that is like the FXAA injector mods but it says in the description it isnt compatible with them and it doesnt use them but it has the same effect bassically, soemthing about an interactive something-or-other

Mate, you're going to have to be a lot more exact than that if you want help!
