  1. OK, so yesterday I bought Dawnguard and activated it on Steam. After the installation and activation, I am now unable to load any of my saves from before then without crashing about a minute after loading them. I actually tried starting a new game and going through the whole introduction, and this gave me no problems at all. The last savegame I made was located in a tower not far off from Dawnstar: not sure how that would affect it, but oh well. I've now disabled every mod including Dawnguard, but even on my older saves it doesn't seem to make difference. Stuff like SkyUI, Sounds of Skyrim, Item Sorting etcetera. Even without the Dawnguard file active, I can only last for a very short time on my older save before crashing straight to the desktop again. I checked the game cache integrity in Steam, defragmented the cache files, but it still doesn't seem to be doing anything. Even just reinstalled the game, which seems to give only more of the same problem. Not sure how to fix this problem, but I guess I'll be playing something else for a while until I know for sure what to do. EDIT: So I checked my save files, and everything before I installed Dawnguard was somewhere around 6 to 7 megabytes large. Now the average is somewhere in the 40s.
  2. OK, so yesterday I got myself a wired XBox 360 controller for my PC; mostly to play more modern games that seem to require it if you want more of a console-type experience. OK, so I've crafted quite a few items in the past; weapons, rings and armour. But my designated finishing button for the mouse/keyboard crafting was R, which was also highlighted in the crafting menu; now, there's just A to select an item and B to exit the menu. Since it doesn't seem like I can configure a button for that through the controls menu, should I switch back to K/M every time I want to craft an item or is there a solution for this problem somewhere? I'd like to know. Thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks all for your advice. But I've found out the cutscene will go on properly when one punches in "setstage mq206 90". Not what I had in mind, but it worked well and didn't mess anything up.
  4. So I managed to retrieve the Elder Scroll from Saarthal, and then I went to the Throat of the World to read it at the Time Wound. I'm running on the latest Steam patch, which I believe should be version 1.6.89.0.6 and I have absolutely no idea why it's doing this. Setting the stage of mq206 to 100 just causes a pretty boring battle in which , so I'm curious to know if anyone could think of a better solution for this.
