  1. The modding community is nothing to a corporate entity like Bethesda. They don't care, they care about their bottom line, like any company, even you, should. I run a business myself. At the end of the day it is about paying your employees, rent/mortgage/auto/franchise taxes/etc. Customers are those who buy products, not sitting in your shop "chatting away". I paid Nexus because I support what your doing and I understand running a site takes, yanno, money. I've donated to authors who I feel deserved it. I will pull support of anyone trying to make a buck by charging for a "free service". But it is Bethesda's property. We are using it. Mod authors need to understand that what they create is ultimately owned by Bethesda. They can do as they see fit. If it angers the few people who "mod" their games, so be it. People will STILL buy their games. There isn't any money in it for them at this point. If they do start charging, that is another issue. Will I be fine with that? No, I will not support that, but I may buy a game or two by Bethesda down the road, but will be more selective. Just like EA, Valve, Blizzard, etc etc.. You vote with your wallet. Feel free to disagree... I am not one of those "protesters". ;)
  2. In response to post #37618235. #37618805, #37624150, #37630020, #37631660, #37633025, #37638480 are all replies on the same post. Same.
  3. Just go subscription required. Let TES Alliance handle all the load, see how they like it. :D Here now we see the reason Steam wanted the paid mod thing, due to rising costs. This has been happening in nearly every industry as of late. You may want to start thinking about raising prices of supporters and premium members sooner rather than later, and go the Forbes route ASAP, this will only get worse over time as more and more people populate the planet and look for freebies anywhere they can find them, especially since a custom built PC now costs the same as the newest smartphone, its a no brainer. :P
  4. In response to post #29406489. #29441169 is also a reply to the same post. I think the point is that NMM has been in beta for 4yrs, not even GOG took that long in beta. To me it seems NMM is now akin to Early Access games, always being updated never really "released". Ashal also said this when his program underwent a major upgrade and claimed "old versions will never be supported" as a justification. I will keep using my old version and backed it up on another drive, even if it stops the web integration, I'll just download manually and "drag-drop" into it. ;) Roll back if you don't like the changes. and always keep a backup. ;)
  5. The benefit from all this is that at least I have a better appreciation for modders and what they do. I have donated to some on Nexus, and will continue to do so.
  6. My log is just this: WeaponRackActivateScript.OnActivate() - "WeaponRackActivateScript.psc I mean it spams the hell out of it. Most everything is just that. I checked my scripts and I don't even have that psc file. Maybe that is the issue.
  7. bben46, you asked about what doesn't work, Becoming a Vampire Lord does not eliminate the error. Nor does killing all the Companions, Vilkas was killed by the Altar of Sacrifice since he was "essential". On the plus side, my Ebony Blade got stronger by killing the Companions. :P Its a rare CTD, but nevertheless it does occur, usually when zoning.
