  1. I don't know if it can be done. But I annoyed me that in New Vegas that if you planted c4 on a person and than they went in a cell that the c4 would not detonate. It would be cool also if the detonator worked from another cell too. For example I plant c4 on a person who is about to walk into the silver rush and after he walks in I use the detonator the c4 would still explode inside the cell. Just an idea. Let me know what you think.
  2. Okay I am working on a mod for oblivion and I need a set amount of money to be given to the player based on a set number of days. So for example you get payed 500 gold every 4 days or something like that. I know its possible but I don't see any scripting functions for a game timer. Also I am having trouble with an activator script in the script you activate the for sale sign and it asks you if you would like to buy the house I have gotten the yes and no buttons to work so if you say yes it will take away the price of the house and for no to exit the menu but I need to set it so that the script will check the players gold amount before letting them buy the home. I am having trouble with the formatting or something because I get a scripting error. I would really appreciate the help.
  3. Okay since there is a camera weapon in the game I thought it was a shame you couldn't take pictures of it. So I thought what if the camera had an on fire script to take a screen shot and added a picture item to your inventory. And how you would see the picture you took would be that the texture for the picture item would be rooted to the exact name of the image file. The only problem I see with it is that screenshots are not saved to the textures directory and are not dds format. Is there a way to change the screenshot save folder in the New Vegas config file? And is there a way to change its save format? Just an idea feel free to use it or add to it if you find a solution just let me know if you are successful so I can try it out.
  4. This isn't really a mod request but for a video I am doing I need to place a picture in a frame. I have tried replacing the default image but it just ends up a messed up. The file I am talking about is tornpaintingsm01.nif. Considering that the painting has a torn area where the picture would be. If there is a resource out there that has something like this please let me know. Or if you could let me know how I would do it. Its simple shouldn't take that long if I knew how to do it. Thanks in advance.
  5. Well I guess I could have the option to start with a clean slate and the option to keep your gear. There will be different match options. Free for All, Team Deathmatch, Objective, The weapons and armor are not really presets you will be able to mix and match and use whatever weapon and armor you want as long as you have the caps. One feature I think I might do is something akin to killstreaks. I mean there are already mods for vertibird and artillery strikes why not implement them. I mean I'm not reinventing the wheel here things like grenade and knife hotkey have been done. Project Nevada has already achieved dynamic crosshair. One feature that would be cool but would be difficult to implement would be upgradable team members. Leveling Companions has already been done before but implementing something like that would require maybe someone with more companion experience than me. I'm not asking for help here but if you have an idea, or you would like to help than your welcome to. I am currently working on the weapon and armor system. Map making, Spawn system, NPC creation, game types, and maps come after.
  6. I am currently working on a mod that is similar to mutiplayer type gaming. But it is not multiplayer. Well basically you will have to option to fight in matches against AI opponents of set difficulty. Just like in other first person shooter games you will be able to buy upgradeable weapons and armor. But here is the thing. You will start out with a blank slate. No more perks or level 35 desert ranger with antimaterial rifle. You will have to buy and upgrade the weapons and armor you want by gaining caps from killing others in matches.(And no your caps will not come with you.) I'm doing this because if I didn't than Mr.Level 35 with 100,000 caps will just buy everything and miss the point of the mod. I plan to include a sort of zombies mode.(I mean who doesn't love zombies there is a whole NV mod for it.) And yes there will be a mystery box. More info soon. P.S:This may seem a little bit of a big project but if you saw how I plan to make it work you would wonder why someone hasn't done it already.

  9. Okay recently I have been having problems with the geck. Certain things in the geck are not showing up. For instance when I load the FalloutNV.esm there are no quests listed in the geck. Also it shows no recipes, recipe category's, and under all of the animation idles it says LOOSE. I have updated the geck and that hasn't solved the problem. To test it I loaded on of the DLC's into the geck and it showed all of its quest's recipes etc. So whatever the problem is it must be involved with the FalloutNV.esm and its datafiles. Any help would be greatly appreciated I can't mod without these things. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the double post but I have been able to get the drinking animation to play but the problem is that it only plays when the bottle model is activated and not when the player drinks the beer. But I don't know what I would need to change to make it work the way I want it too. Here is my script for the beer. Ok, there was a mod I was wanting to make which would basically play the drinking animation when ever you use something like scotch, wine, etc. My idea was just to add a simple script that would put away player weapons during a set time duration and play an animation and when the timer runs out re arm player. This would work by having script on each ingestible. I was wondering if there is a way I could use NVSE to do this or if I have a prayer at all. Is commands for NVSE that will allow me to do this. I looked through some of the commands and haven't find anything thus far. But hoping someone more experienced in NVSE could point me in the right direction if possible. Thanks in advance.

  14. I have seen all of these converts off the site FPS BANANA and I was hoping someone could show me how convert these files so that they can be used in the GECK. If you could point me to a tutorial that would be great. And yes I know about copyright so I'm not going post someone else's work unless I am given permission by the author. I would really appreciate it.
  15. Yeah thats what I have been saying but I don't exactly know how to do it the way I want it. I want to combine the exterior and interior meshes into one mesh. I realize they all don't match up completely but some do like the farm houses. I have tried doing this but I dont know how to do it properly because the mesh just ends up without a texture and with collisions that don't work. In short I know its possible I just need someone to show me how to put these meshes together without messing up something that causes problems with the mesh.
  16. I am working on a mod in which an npc has a custom weapon. It has custom sounds for it. But for some reason whenever the npc fires the weapon there is no sound from the weapon, but when I picked up the weapon and shot it sounded fine. The weapon uses custom meshes and sounds. I would greatly appreciate some help.

  18. @alonsomartinez I would greatly appreciate that thank you. @Vagrant0 Yeah I know about those problems. I hope you know I wasn't planning on replacing every single house in the game with a completely exterior. I was just planning on building a single house mod. This house would not have a basement. And considering in Vince Bly's Mountain Shack mod he made a completely exterior cabin with fire and furniture with lights and havoked objects and fire and effects without a single dropped frame. And no rain or snow penetrates the cabin. And I wont be using any custom weather mods so theres no chance of incompatibility. I am sorry If I wasn't clear but this mod is not meant to be a complete replacer just a simple house mod. I realize that on any computer the game would crash if I tried and replaced all of them, I'm don't lack the ability to see this, I am afraid you misunderstand, I apologize if I made you frustrated, I understand it can be frustrating to try to explain something to someone who seems to not get it, but I do get it.
  19. I think its possible. How do hard things get done if everybody says there impossible. :smile: I know that beggars and stuff would come into the house that makes it more realistic. Theres a chance a beggar could end up sleeping in your bed and you have to off him. I wasn't planning on it being in the city. And yes they would have to be modified but objects can be scaled in order to fit correctly and parts that have clipping issues can be removed or modified. I think it can be done. Exterior houses have been done before so why not now. I would do the modeling myself if the nif exporter would work with my version of 3ds max. I don't know how to use blender and I don't really see any real good alternatives. It hasn't been done becaues nobody wants to have to do it. Its a cool idea but it requires work.

  21. I just want to know how I would do it at least. Sure I could edit the model and remove the wall myself but It would probably cause in game errors and crashes because I didn't go through proper procedure or something.

What I am talking about is editing the exterior house mesh to remove the wall behind where the door is supposed to go and place the mesh of the exterior cell inside and than tweaking the meshes to fit correctly seamlessly, than adding a door. I would like to know if anyone could help me do this or explain how it is done. I know nothing about editing meshes than placing them back into the game. I need to make the windows transparent also. I basicly want the whole house to be exterior no loading of interior cells. It makes it much more realistic and fun when you can see the landscape outside your house. I know that something like this would take up more memory. (Thats why bethesda probably didn't do it.) but I can handle it. I only really at this time only want one building to be like this so it wont cause any performance issuses. Im not talking about something big like a castle just like one of the houses you see in the city. I would very much appreciate any help. This has always been I wish of mine to do.
