  1. i am indeed using a manager. this is from the absolute cleanest install i could get and i uninstalled the potential mods i thought was causing it through the manager. i also cleared all my save files so the character i was testing it on was fresh too.
  2. this started a bit after i downloaded some texture based stuff to pretty up the population of skyrim a little bit, along with some overworld textures. i figured something was corrupted and the only way to fix it was a flat clean install. the blue textures included things like the windows in whiterun, and anywhere else that texture was used, as well as a bunch of random items like wooden chairs and benches. i since deleted anything that changed overworld textures except for the static mesh improvement mod. got to whiterun using a test character and it turned out a clean install didnt fix it. i dont know the full extent of the issue but i know that in the places ive seen it, its glaringly obvious and annoying. left game to check vortex for anything i missed and the game started CTDing while loading the main menu. ill paste the load order. i don't often change anything about it unless vortex prompts a conflict. # Automatically generated by VortexDarkwater Crossing.espSkyrim.esmUpdate.esmDawnguard.esmHearthFires.esmDragonborn.esmPoison Spells - NoPerks.espPrometheus_BeastSkeletons.espCampfire.esmUnofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.espBlack Marsh.esmClimatesOfTamriel.esmarnima.esmBosmerArmorMATY743.esmFalskaar.esmHair Replacer.espHair Replacer Assets.espSkyUI_SE.espSMIM-SE-Merged-All.espBee Hives.espGildergreen Regrown.espAndromeda - Unique Standing Stones of Skyrim.espSummermyst - Enchantments of Skyrim.espAwesome Artifacts.espBlack Marsh North.espHelgen Reborn.espvalleyofpeace.espEbonvale.espThunderchild - Epic Shout Package.espMoonAndStar_MAS.espHothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.espPoint The Way.espPatchMan - OCS_FPF.espDwarfsphere.espHeljarchenFarm.espInigo.espAnimalBloodPotionsSSE.espArs Metallica.espImmersive Patrols II.espIvarstead.espDWP.espPatronGodsOfSkyrim.espKynesgrove.espHelarchen Creek.espKarthwasten.espquest_pitfighter.espDragon Bridge.espHoldBorderBanners.espHaem Projects Goblands.espmoonpath.espApocalypse - Magic of Skyrim.espbeltfastenedquivers.espBlack Books Begone.espCBBE.espCloaks - Dawnguard.espDGPlayerIsVampire.espDiverseDragonsCollectionSE.espImmersive Weapons.espDSerArcheryGameplayOverhaul.espHearthfireNoMaterials.espHunterborn - Campfire Patch.espIcePenguinWorldMap.espJaxonzRenamer.espKS Hairdo's.espLeftHandRings - Dawnguard.espLess Tedious Thieves Guild.espMoonlight Tales Special Edition.espMoonlight Tales - Werebear Form Bug Fix Patch.espNB-FurHoods.espPacifist Mini-Mods Collection.espSmilodon-Immersive Weapons Patch.espImperious - Races of Skyrim.espOrdinator - Perks of Skyrim.espAlternate Start - Live Another Life.espImmersive Citizens - AI Overhaul.espFalkreath.espOpen Cities Skyrim.espOCS - Immersive Armors Patch.espProperPotionNames.espRun For Your Lives.espCloaks.espRed Flame.espHunterborn.espShor's Stone.espValenwood.espVigilant.espTelengard.espSoljund's Sinkhole.espBBD_SkyrimFishing.espWheelsOfLull.espSpellsword.espRiften_Well_House.espThe Paarthurnax Dilemma.espSneak Tools.espRavengate.espCloaks - USSEP Patch.espCobbVampShade.espSmilodon - Combat of Skyrim.espHothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.espLeftHandRings.espSilver_Arrows.espsirwho_Wizard_Hat.espSneak Tools Vanilla Hoods.espSneak Tools Vanilla Masks.espSpellswordApocalypse.espStayPretty.espTakeNotes.espUSSEP-Immersive Weapons Patch.espVampireSun.espVioLens SE.espVolkihar Knight.espSacrosanct - Vampires of Skyrim.espRelationship Dialogue Overhaul.espTheChoiceIsYours.espProvincial Courier Service.espWhistling Mine.espRorikstead.espImmersive Citizens - OCS patch.esp
  3. FIXED: it seems i have two foldiers labeled for skyrim special edition. NMM was trying to use the one named "SkyrimSE", but the dlc.esms were in the one named "Skyrim Special Edition. i do not why there are two folders present.
  4. I almost completely forgot i made this post. apologies. i still haven't quite figured it out. i have definitely verified the game files, multiple times in fact. that doesn't seem to be fixing it. i'm just very confused by the whole thing. i've been interacting with the dlcs, so i don't know how i could be using dlc if the esms are missing. i don't know if theyre somehow hidden (although i do have show hidden files checked in my settings for browsing files) or in a different folder.
  5. I've tried looking around and i simply cannot find any pages regarding similar issues, so I'm giving up and going here. I have yet to actually mod Skyrim with Nexus, but that is precisely my problem. I want to place extreme importance upon the fact that I have Special Edition, because that's why this problem is so confusing. When attempting to set up SSE with Nexus, Nexus is demanding Dawnguard.esm be present in my data files for SSE to continue. I looked and it low and behold it isn't there, and neither are the other two dlc esm files. I have tried reinstalling and also verifying the integrity of the files in Steam, but this does not fix the issue. I do not know why these files are missing, or how they could be. I have completed the dlc related quests several times over, so they're definitely there. Pages I've found with this problem, the person has previous versions of Skyrim without the DLC, so their problem doesn't help me, because theoretically i should possess these files. The esm file for Skyrim itself is present and accounted for, so no issue there. I don't know if this is a problem with my files, or a problem with Nexus, and I've tried all the obvious fixes so I'm really at my wits end.
  6. I dont even know if i'm in the correct area for this, but i'm decently new to trying to mod. i've done minor modding to New Vegas as tests, so I guess i already know how to set a game up for modding, but i'm running into a really weird problem with setting up SSE. Nexus is saying i lack dawnguard.esm, dragonborn.esm, and hearthfire.esm, which, upon looking in the data files, are legit just not there. this doens't make sense, because this is special edition, which comes WITH those dlc. my last save with my khajiit paladin was inside fort dawnguard, so i know i have them and theyre working. i really dont know how to fix this or where to find these files if theyre not in the same folder as skyrim.esm. i've verified my files 3 times in steam but that doesn't make them appeaar, nor does reinstalling the game. if anyone else has had this problem and knows how to fix it, please, i'm ten different kinds of confused.
