Savantra shook her head and took the bow from around her body. "I'm fine, I have my bow to take care of things before anything turns ugly." She sighed and stretched slightly, judging that the south end would be the fastest way around the lake. "We'd better get moving however. It'll be nighttime soon so we don't have much daylight to travel by, and the hideout is rather far. I suggest we make camp once we reach the southernmost point of the lake." Savantra pointed to the far end, a few kilometres away.
-
Savantra slowed a little bit to allow some leeway. "You can refer to me as Savantra." She eventually came to a slow walk as the water's edge glistened and shone in the fading sunlight. "Now, we're at the shore of the lake. The bandits we're after are across this lake within the mountains on the other side, closer to Carvahall. We can either walk around the lake, or we can find a method of some sort to cross it, shaving off an extra day from our journey." Putting her hand over her eyes to block out the sun, she scanned the lakeside, looking for a boat or ferry of some sort. "I didn't expect there to be anything of that nature, and it seems like there isn't anything.."

Savantra jogged towards Byron, slowing as she came within distance of him. "Ready to go?" She called out, mentally check-listing that she had everything with her. Out of the corner of her eye, she noted what appeared to be one of the town socialites judging by her fine clothing that she must not have met. She quickly adjusted her hood so that it hid her face, and trotted ahead of Byron as she led the way out of town to the south-west towards the mouth of the lake. Oh, if any of my colleagues saw me like this, my reputation would begin to rot..
-
"I certainly am. I-" Before Savantra said another word, she remembered the social tonight. Waving the thought away from her mind, she settled on going after these.. bandits. I have bigger jewels to polish. Making sure she had all of her money and trinkets on her, she turned and faced the dwarf. "And what am I to call you, dwarf? Byron was it? I need to go to my own home for a moment or two, to dress in proper raiment for this trek. Meet me at the outskirts of town." With that, she walked out of the tavern and down the road, the faintest bit of twilight beginning to settle in. As she walked and made a right turn further into town, a pair of swallows flew over her head and spiraled towards a large carved house in a more residential district. The swallows circled the manor house and flew off atop the trees with a chirp on the wind. Savantra climbed the steps to her manor house and unlocked the door, opening up to a foyer adorned with finery. She climbed up the staircase before her and turned to the left down a corridor, panels of sunlight flooding in down the hall through the windows. A wooden door at the end of the corridor opened to a rather opulent bedroom chamber with bottle green drapery and chestnut bed framing. Savantra opened up her wardrobe and placed the trinket she had bought in one of the nooks after undressing from her previous attire, folding them up neatly and placed them next to the wardrobe for washing. She turned and opened up a large cabinet where her dark flexible and light armor was, perfectly suited to enhance her set of skills. She donned her armor piece by piece, and ended with her leather gauntlets. Securing her armor in place, Savantra grabbed her bow and quiver which she had polished recently. Her bow was, like herself, ornate and lavish, but deadly. "Oh.." Before going out the door, Savantra grabbed a hood and placed it over her flaming hair before examining herself in the mirror. She paused and adjusted her small pauldrons so that they were less bulky. With that, she set off out the door and towards the outskirts of the city.

Savantra smiled, the words of her plan formulating in her head. "I was browsing your wares not that long ago actually. I noticed in the evening that a ragtag group of bandits had snuck off with what appeared to be a bag of some sort. Haven't you noticed the lack of a certain... thing from your storage?" Savantra waved the smoke ring from her face. "I might be able to tell you more about these outlaws, if you're interested in getting back what's yours."
-
Savantra turned her her head slightly, noticing the arrival of a new customer a few tables over. He too had a baby dragon with him, it seemed. Savantra looked back at her plate for a moment. She knew something was wrong about this though. So that other stone really was another dragon egg.. She casually got off the bar stool and slowly made her way over to the dwarf, her arms crossed lazily. She came to the chair on the opposite end of the table and leant her palm on it. "So there's a new dragon in town." Her eyes made contact with the dwarf's. "It seems like news of what that Eragon lad said in the Ancient Tongue really was true. Dwarves and Urgals are among the Elven and Human Riders now."

Savantra left the dusty old shop, knowing that she'll have to start getting ready in a few hours. The sun was just beginning to descend after its noon peak, and she could do with some food. Walking down the road with the tavern in mind, she looked up once more at the tower at the end of the road, still curious about the nature of the shaman's other "stone". She came to the entrance of the tavern and pushed open the door, a low fog of pipe smoke hanging below the ceiling. The lighting was dim, and laughter and various snippets of conversation could be heard throughout the tavern. Ugh, I wish there was a slightly better way to dine.. She sat at the far end of the counter, asking for a sangria with a loaf of seasoned bread and cheese. The bartender turned and got the ingredients for the drink as Savantra examined her hands absent-mindedly, rubbing off collected dirt from her palms. With a plateful of food and a dark red drink placed before her, she handed over some gold pieces with a bit of copper and nibbled at the bread. A bit stale. She decided while eating that she'd make her way to the tower and find out if anything dragon-related occured there as well.
-
Savantra looked around at the people milling by as slowly others noticed the prescence of a new Rider. She shifted her footing, not wanting other people to come and milk this situation just like the lad in the shop was. She sniffed, not enjoying that fact, but still confident that she'd come out on top of this brand new opportunity. She walked back to the door frame and peered at the tall man. "You know, I can pay for that. You look like you'd need the gold for armor repairs or restocking your inventory." She reached into her pocket and pulled out a handful of coin, almost roughly double the amount he had put out for the shopkeeper and placed it on the counter before him. Errands and favors are key in making "friends". She turned slightly at the tower outside the window, noting that that shaman-man had headed for the shop within it. Did he have another of those "stones" with him..?

Savantra sighed quietly at the sound of the elf's tinkling laugh. Her eyes caught the sight of a shiny bauble on a shelf near the doorway, and taking her advice, decided to add another pretty trinket to her collection of accessories. This would look nice for tonight's social... Paying the shopkeeper the coin, Savantra pocketed the bauble and followed the elf outside, with images of gold and uncovered secrets trickling through her mind. She brushed a tuft of red hair back into place with her finger, looking around outside, noting the prescence of another figure, a tall man who seemed rather battle-ready and travel-worn. Her eyes swept the scenery around them, her mind lost in thought. Very reminiscent of nature, the buildings around them were extravagantly carved and inscribed with all sorts of beautiful decor to her liking. With the aroma of coniferous and deciduous trees in the air, Savantra smiled. Today was going to be the beginning of something, but whatever it was meant to be, it was sure to keep her safebox nice and full.
-
Savantra watched the elf get back on her feet, and looked back out at the retreated old mystic. "You aren't uncomfortable by the idea of how much mass attention this will receive, elf?" She leaned back on the wooden frame of the door, looking at the small majestic purple beast.
-
Slightly put off by her lack of success with her choice in wording, she frowned slightly, ignoring the old man. She looked back at the violet dragon, feeling genuinely unnerved at the powerful creature's previous hostility, regardless of whether it was a hatchling or not. Savantra was no fool. She watched with interest as the elf came to, and wondered if they were communicating with their minds, as the stories go. She waited for a development to pounce on.
-
Savantra saw a bright flash of light. Seeing spots, she quickly rubbed her eyes and refocused on the events inside. Her jaw dropped. Oh... Well then this changes things... She straightened up, quickly looked around her general area to see if anyone was watching her, then put her hand on the door handle, quickly brushing herself of any dirt before walking in. At the sight of the small dragon and the collapsed elf, she put on a look of surprise. "Oh! Oh my, is.. is she alright? And is that a.. a dragon..?"

Awesome, thanks! :D

Before I make another post, is this post-Eragon, pre-Eragon, or during the events of Eragon? Sorry if that was stated already, but I just wanted to make sure.

Slightly startled by the sudden loud shattering sound in a shop nearby, the fiery-haired Savantra turned to face the outside of an old shop she had just passed. Interested in what was behind the thick slightly dusty windows, she crouched down and peered inside through the glass, unsure what was in front of an elf who appeared to be in a state of shock. Something purplish appeared to be writhing in front of her. What's going on in there...? Her intuition tingled. If this was some sort of monstrosity, wouldn't the city authority pay her well if this little event was tipped off to them...

I think Dawnguard would be a good buy if you're a big Skyrim enthusiast and you wanted to experience everything Bethesda throws at you, although you're not exactly gonna experience a whole new side of Skyrim with this, most of it is stuff you've experienced before. For me, I agree with one of the previous posts, I'm going to get it when it's cheaper.

You know you've been playing to much Skyrim when ...
Sherentine replied to chocklymon's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Whenever I took the bus and saw small flowers in people's gardens, I'd think "mountain flowers". I remember going to a historical site a few weeks ago, it was a fortress that was spruced up and had actors in various places to show visitors what it was really like way back in the 1700's. Anyways there was a seaside fishing home just outside the fortress walls, and inside looked just like any old shack in Skyrim. There was a basket with lavender, little cups of salt, barrels here and there, garlic, what appeared to be hanging elves' ear and miriam, pheasants and rabbits, and a woman sitting in a chair with olden clothing on. My god it was so amazing. Skyrim everywhere :psyduck: -
Skyrim was my first TES game. I loved the freedom and novelty of the game where I couldn't do exactly WHATEVER I wanted, but I could certainly do a heck of a lot of stuff at my own free will. I do think it's fun, but after trying out four or five characters, I'm sort of bored with the repetitive nature of the various factions you can join. I wished that you could a little more choice in what happens. I know that you can either decline or accept to be a werewolf, be whatever sort of Nightingale and so forth, but the story line still seems a little rigid to me. Skyrim is fun, and I certainly think that it's a very well-done game, but after a while I got Skyrimmed out. I still play it when I'm bored or what have you, but I'm not as "OH MY GOODNESS I CAN SHARPSHOOT WOODLAND CRITTERS AND TAN THEIR HIDES AND WEAR THEM AS ARMOR???" as I used to be.

I tried deleting all my saves except for a couple of recent ones for a similar reason, and that did improve Skyrim's performance, but yeah had a lot of mod action going on in-game. It's all good though, I may have ended up having to start over, but at least my issues are cleared. It sounds like your advice would be more helpful though.
-
For me, it turned out to be a problem with mods I had installed recently, and this solution will end up with having to get rid of all your data and start over, so use this solution at your own risk. I first deleted all my mods just in case it was an issue that snowballed into a collective issue with all of them. After this, I encountered a stage where I couldn't even play from my saves because the game wouldn't advance past the initial loading splash screen after hitting "continue" or "load" in the main menu. This is the solution for THAT problem: - Close steam (right click on the system tray icon and choose exit)- - Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\ or whatever folder your steam is installed - Go to Steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/Skyrim - Delete (or move to desktop to avoid issues if it does not work) the SkyrimPrefs.ini file - Open Steam and go to : Library > Skyrim > Right Click > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game cache - It will download a "missing" file, 22MB or something - Ready to play I got this from this site, http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/39409/i-cant-get-past-the-opening-splash-screen-when-i-try-to-start-playing-skyrim, but copied the instructions here for convenience's sake. You can find the same instructions in the top-rated answer. Please check if there's another way around your problem first, it would suck if you had to start over. :(

Portal and Portal 2 for 12 bucks? MINE
-
That's unfortunate. Well hopefully the peace will be kept in this rp!
-
Ohh, alright, fair enough. Was it that bad that the rp had to be locked?
-
NSFW? Oh did I join THAT kind of roleplay? o_O
-
Agreed. There might be a mod for it, although if not, I'm sure that one would pop up at some point, maybe if you requested it.
