  1. It adds new ones. How do I fix this? It worked briefly.
  2. Okay, so I've been creating my first mod with NPCs. I wanted to use KS Hairdos for them and have been using CBBE for the body. First, I had a physics issue that sent the breasts flailing all over the room. Once I'd solved that, everything seemed fine... for two whole minutes. Then they got the dark face glitch. I've tried ctrl+F4 in CK, but it didn't help. I'm going to try redoing all the facegens, but in case that fails, any other advice would be exceedingly welcome. Edit: It took a long time, but redoing the facegens for every character fixed the issue.
  3. Thanks for the encouragement! I need it. I'm sitting here in horror, currently, staring at the meshes folder. I don't know if I can metaphorically find my rear with both hands at this point. I may switch over to a different mod idea for a while if I can't figure this out and come back to it when I understand what I'm looking at. I feel like a dog watching a human type an essay on astrophysics.
  4. Okay, I'm going to begin by saying I don't have a singular clue what I'm doing aside from bare bones modding. This project is significantly harder than I had anticipated, but I refuse to give up. So, my questions are as follows: 1. What types of files do I need to make absolutely certain the hair works? The files already exist in the KS Hairdos mod, but I need to know what I'm looking for so I don't break it. I plan to link and cite, as specified on the mod page. 2. Is there any avoiding the grey face bug once I apply the mod? How do I kill that bug? 3. The tactics I've tried so far, just using CK to change the hair and trying to make it dependent on KS Hairdos for the data, either produce a grey face and no change in hair or the hair doesn't actually show up like it's supposed to. It switches to the race default. What am I doing wrong? 4. How do I then refit specific hats (possibly using bodyslide) to avoid clipping with the hair? I recognize that I'm in way over my head. At the same time, this is an opportunity for me to learn a great deal that might be useful in the future, and any help given will earn my undying gratitude. I'd promise more if I had it to offer.
  5. Thank you guys so much. I hope this will help. I wanted to do a few character edits using KS Hairdos, and I don't have permission to use the assets so I thought if I ever publish the mod I would just have it as a dependency. That's what I'm trying to achieve, and hopefully it can go smoothly from here. Knock on wood. Edit: God, I'm an idiot. They allow reupload of resources as long as you link to the page and credit them. How did I miss that when I read through the last few times?
  6. Okay, so I'm working on my first mod and I'm doing my level best, but I'm completely lost. I'm trying to make a .esp file a requirement for another .esp and I have no idea what I'm doing. I have SSEEdit, but quite frankly I'm in over my head and google isn't much help (I'm probably googling the wrong phrases but I don't know what the right ones are). Somebody please help? Links, advice, anything constructive would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Thank you again. I tried to do the thing with Notepad++ because I thought I might be able to do that easier, but nope. Looks like it's copy/paste for me unless I spontaneously develop a greater understanding of what I'm doing wrong. At least thanks to your advice I'll be able to manage to do *something.*
  8. Thank you for that. I'd like to get Atom working correctly, but until or unless I figure out how, I'll use that method. Thanks for the tips, too! They'll really come in handy, especially as I have a mod planned that's currently way over my head. I've got a lot of learning to do.
  9. It has autocomplete and various free packages you can download to make it do nearly anything... If you can figure out how to format it in the first place. And it doesn't make you save in the Skyrim folder at all, actually. If you select Save As, just put it wherever you like as a .psc It's getting it to .pex that I'm having trouble with, because I don't think I set that up right. The wiki and the build-papyrus instructions were about as clear as swamp water on certain things, like which root directory they were talking about and what to do if you're not just using your C: drive for everything.
  10. God, that's relatable. If I can't figure Atom out, I'll shelf that for a while and use Notepad++. A lot more people seem to use it, so there will be more troubleshooting out there. I really do like Atom, though, and I hope I can manage to do the many and varied file creations and shuffling that I have to do to get it to play nice with CK.
  11. It's become abundantly clear to me that I have no idea what I'm doing. I downloaded Atom to get started with Papyrus scripting and so I would have a resource if I wanted to get into other things as well. Being the dingbat I am, though, I can't figure out where the .build-papyrus.yml file recommended on the wiki goes (yes, I know, "root directory," but root directory of what? The entire drive? The game? Atom?) I'm positive I have the build-papyrus compiler path for SSE correct, but it seems to still be looking in the default for reasons I cannot begin to fathom. Also, in the default game dropdown, it only has Fallout 4. Is this because Skyrim is on another drive? Is this hard for everyone or am I an idiot? Someone please help me.

  13. Specifically, I'm trying to get Estrus Chaurus+ to work on males. I've got SAM and all the necessities to make the scaling work, but no real understanding of what I'm doing. I think I poked at the papyrus enough that it should, ostensibly, not restrict gender, but the attack still isn't working on males. It works on females just fine. Trying it on a clean save now - I'll report on the results when I'm sure about them. Edit 6/25: Still prodding at the code. Playing with the gender boolean isn't doing anything so far. Should I try removing it altogether?
  14. I'm trying to make a mod affect the player regardless of sex. That's literally all. Right now it's female-specific, but with the other mods I have, it could work for a male pc as well. I have zero modding experience but I'm good at following instructions and I pick up on things fairly quickly. Someone please help. It all looks like Ancient Greek in Creation Kit.
