  1. I am trying to change around characteristics of weapons and armor in ME3 (change fire rate, damage, armor stat bonuses, etc) but I am not sure where to start. This could be done in ME2 by changing the Configuration files found in the BioGame directory, but in ME3, there are no such files. I assume this is because they changed engines. Is what I am trying to do pretty complicated, ie needing specialized programs to modify files with abstract extensions not able to be modified in a simple text editor? Any direction would be helpful.
  2. So in my current play through, I've been working towards becoming thane of all the holds. However, I've come across a bug that I can't figure out what is causing it, and I've never experienced it before. Essentially what happens is I return Tolfdir's shield to the jarl of Markarth. The dialogue option "Is there anything else you need, my jarl" is then available, and upon selecting it the jarl responds "There is room in my court for a new thane...blah blah blah" and you can then choose to accept or deny the quest to help people of the hold and purchase property. However, when I select the option to accept the quest, no quest objective is updated in the journal. Then when I go and complete people's quests throughout the hold, there are no updated objectives (You've helped x/5 people in the Reach). I've purchased the property in Markarth and have helped well more than 5 people, but it seems that since the quest was never started, I can't talk to the jarl to officially become thane. Trying to use console commands, I've tried "setstage favor250 20", to try and force the quest to complete. However this only gives the dialogue option with the jarl that "I've helped your people." The jarl says he names you as Thane, but guards don't acknowledge it, I don't get the Blade of Markarth, and Argis the Bulwark doesn't appear in my home (the whole reason I want to be Thane, because the dude is awesome). I even went so far as to start a whole new game, reach level 20, complete the preliminary quests, but the bug still happens. I have been playing with mods, but have never experienced this bug until this playthrough. The only mods I added that I can possibly fathom would effect quests like this are Alternate Start or Open Civil War, but I don't think either of those are the problem. Quite frankly I'm at a loss for ideas on what to do. If anybody has any ideas on what might be the cause of this bug or possible ideas on how to fix it or even get passed it, I would appreciate it!
  3. I know there are some pretty good Game of Thrones mods out there, and they're a lot of fun. But most are pretty old, and I'm wondering if someone might try to create some weapons and armor from the later seasons of the show, specifically Jon Snow's battle armor during the attack at King's Landing, or Brienne's black armor that Jamie gave her, or Cersei's black Queensguard armors. Just curious if anyone was up for it. I'd contribute to anyone who was willing to try.
  4. To preface, I have no modding experience, I just download and enjoy other's work and give what donations I can when I can. That being said, I've found a weapon mod that I absolutely love called Eimar's Edge (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5165). It is, in my opinion, the best looking sword I've ever found, balancing coolness and realistic sword design, it's pretty powerful, I just love it everything about it...except one thing: the mod author somehow made the sword so that blood decals aren't visible on the sword. So when you get in an epic battle with blood spraying all over the walls, floor, and innocent bystanders, not a drop gets on your sword. You know, the device that is literally creating said mess. When asked, the author said that this was not a bug, but a feature. I totally respect that this is the author's work, and he/she wanted it this way. But for me, it is very immersion breaking. I've tried contacting the author, requesting that they possibly release an altered version of the weapon with blood decals enabled, but it is an old mod and doesn't look like the author is even around anymore. So long story short (too late, I know), I'm wanting to learn some basic modding skills to try and enable the blood decals for my own personal use. I don't know if you need special software to try and alter the files, or if it can be done in a simple text editor (I've been able to alter other mods by editing some of their scripts in editors, but admittedly they were not mods for Skyrim). Any pointers, tips, general advice or help on what I'm trying to accomplish would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Could you please give a more descriptive instruction on what exactly you did? Very eager to play again, so it would be very greatly appreciated!!!
