  1. While most of them are kind of "meh," for the sake of continuity, I'd love to have a mod that ported the hair meshes from DAI to DAO. I heard rumor that there used to be one, but I've been unsuccessful in finding it. I'd just really like to see these hairs turn up again--mostly, because I'm trying to make recurring characters look more like themselves, and poor little Dagna doesn't have her bun! If you know where I might find one, please link me to it! Thanks, Thomi
  2. ((THAT FEELING WHEN YOU TYPE UP EVERYTHING AND THEN ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE BACK BUTTON ON YOUR MOUSE!!!)) Okay, guys, bear with me. This is going to be a bit long-winded (and possibly submitted into the wrong forum page--sorry), but I'm needing some major help with creating new mods. So I'm a tad bit still insanely obsessed with Dragon Age: Origins, but I have found that throughout the series, things have sort of, well, drifted farther and farther away from the original look and feel. Now, every time I go back to playing the first game, there's a little part of me that is disheartened. The continuity is lost, and the game shows its age--two things that would normally make the replay value drop tenfold for me. But a few years ago I stumbled upon this wonderful site and found some excellent mods that have helped restore that consistency and made this great game (nearly) whole again! So thank you to all of you who have put in the time and effort to restore DAO to its former glory! My ultimate goal is to create a nearly seamless Thedas. With your help, I've been able to fix quest bugs, restore missing actions and dialogue, update character modles, HD-ify textures--basically, juts breathe life into the game again. With your mods, my world feels heaps more immersive. One such amazing mod is Kirkwall Exports by Amycus, which is honestly such an essential part of my game, I download it each and every time that bug bites me and tells me, "Hey, it's time to play Origins again!" I've made several characters that have looked incredible in Merrill's robes, the Champion armor sets... But as the years progress, I find myself wishing this mod had a bit more to it. (I fully understand why it doesn't, and in no way is this meant to be unnapreciative!) Which is the whole reason I'm posting: I'm wondering how one goes about porting armors and things of the like from one game to another! (I'd have posted this topic under the "Mod Requests" forum, but it's not exactly a request, you see.) What is the process? How many other programs are needed? Is the toolset involved? These are questions to which I cannot find the answers to anywhere on the web, and part of me fears that it is because it is a very lengthy process, and that those who have figured it out don't expect anyone else to have the kind of time/patience/technical know-how to do this themselves. But I want to know! There are several overlooked outfits that, for the sake of my headcanon, need to be introduced to my little corner of Thedas! Things like garbs from NPCs in the alienage, human commoners in the Hanged Man, etc. What I'm wanting is simply too much to ask for from one modder, so I'd rather take things into my own hands. TL;DR version: Is there a tutorial out there for porting armor and clothing from Dragon Age 2 to Dragon Age: Origins, and if so, could you please link me to it? If you've made it this far, you're a trooper and I absolutely adore you for it. Thanks, Thomi
  3. You may or may not recall that a while back I had posted a topic on modding a particular shape-shifting dragon-lady. Well, with a bit of help from Risibisi, a few tutorials on YouTube, and hours of painstakingly searching through lines upon lines of code, I've almost completed my Flemeth mod. Problem is, I can't seem to find the line of code that allows you to change her robes from those nasty, tattered things she wears in Origins to whatever you please. I've done what I can to try to find and fix the issue myself, but alas, all of my searching through forums and video tutorials has brought me no closer to solving my problem. Based on things I've learned thus far, I want to say that it will be easy to change her attire - just delete the old outfit and replace it with the name of the mod - buuuut I can't exactly do that if I can't find the original, now can I? So, any of you lovely modders want to help me out here? I feel like I've gone through just about every line of code there is and haven't come across it yet. It's making me crazy. Thanks in advance, thomilee PS* If you could help me out further by telling me where I might go about finding files like pre211cr_flemeth.utc and other pre-# files, that'd be awesome. :]
  4. Check out this mod: http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/3361 Hope that helps!
  5. This mod here contains the Dwarf and Elf versions of Morrigan's hair, labeled df_har_mora and ef_har_mora: http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/392 To use this hair, you'll simply need to add those files to the list on your chargenmorph.xml file. You can also add hf_har_mora if you feel so inclined, as your game already has Morrigan's hair for Humans installed. :] Hope this helps!
  6. Not sure that this is the right place to post this, but I've tried posting it in the mod builder help section and haven't received any feedback. Mmmkay, so I'll give you the gist of what it is that I'm trying to accomplish and why I need help. I'm sure it's just something incredibly simple that I've yet to find, but any help or advice you can offer me will be greatly appreciated. THE GOAL: Give Flemeth the appearance she had in Dragon Age II. Yes, I do realize there is a mod out there that *supposedly* alters her hair and robes, but as I am not the only one who has had difficulty getting it to work properly (in my case, continually unsuccessfully), my goal is to make a much less complex mod that does the same thing. THE ISSUES: 1. I can't find the line of code in the toolset that lets you change her outfit. I have the files associated with hsli's DA2 Flemeth (hsli_da2_flm_01mag.uti and pre211cr_flemeth.utc), but neither of them have her robes listed anywhere. I wouldn't even know what to look for as far as the old set of clothes goes. If anyone knows, I'd be happy if you told me what to look for so I could swap the two names and hopefully make the robes work. I say hopefully because I get the feeling it's going to be more complex than just that. 2. I've managed to change the colors of her makeup by replacing the names of the lipstick, blush, and eyeshadow to match the palate she wears in DA2. This was neglected in hsli's version, and I feel it's a necessary aspect when recreating her look. However, as she appears presently, the lipstick is the right color, but not the right shade. How would I go about making it darker (spec. the darkest shade possible)? Is that even possible? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this! thomilee

  8. There are already a few great mods out there for Isabela, and the one that I've found that looks most like her has quite a few requirements, but is well worth it. Check it out here. Hope this helps!
  9. Thank you so much! That's almost exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully it will work as planned. If not, well, I guess that just means research and lots of practice with modding in my future. Haha.
  10. Alrighty. This may already be out there, and just something I haven't found yet, but here's my question: Is it possible for someone out there to be suuuuuper awesome and create a mod for Dragon Age: Origins that gives any and all Tranquil mages your Warden runs into their forehead brand? Or, if not, leave me with a list of things to download/read up on to learn how to create this mod myself? Maybe it wouldn't be super popular, maybe I'd be the only one using it. But to me, this is an essential change to keep the two games similar. I thrive to keep the stories/lore congruent, and this would just add to that. I've already downloaded all the mods for people like Sten, Merrill, Isabela, Flemeth... The list goes on. Call me picky, or what have you. I just think it'd be a really nice addition to a handful of already-perfect mods. I will attach an example image for ya, just in case you need them! Thanks in advance! thomilee
