  1. Hi Literally. Yes, you are correct. It is now on the mod. Thanks!
  2. Hey folks. I just uploaded my first mod, "Winterized Forsworn armor" to Nexus. Great. One problem though: there is no option on the mod page to download with the mod manager. When I click "Download manually" the option appears on the next page, but I just get a server error. If I try to download the mod manually everything is fine. I did not select "disable" for the "allow download with mod manager" option when I was uploading. I have tried to go in and edit the file in Nexus, but that option does not appear anywhere. Any suggestions? I probably screwed something up, but I don't know what. Perhaps it's best to just delete it and upload it again? I'd rather try to fix it on the site though, if that's possible. I know most people won't want to use the manual download. Looking forward to your suggestions / comments. TV
  3. I am trying to make a variety of bookshelves for a room. I have followed the CK (original, not SE) tutorial for this and got a great working shelf using CommonShelf01 (using Skyrim CK orig, not SE, because of load times. I'm assuming that simple vanilla assets are the same between the 2 versions). I can duplicate this and populate a room with bookshelves no worries. However, I tried to follow the same method using NobleShelf04 as the base object for placement of the references and it WILL NOT WORK. I have tried to change the LinkedRef to BookShelfTrigger02 after trying many other versions, but still only the original shelf will work when I test this in-game. The new NobleShelf04 will not work under any circumstances!! I have tried many permutations; rotate the PlayerBookShelfTrigger box, assign different PlayerBookshelfTrigger values (>1, ie 2, 3, 4), and many other attempts I can't specify here due to poor record keeping. I can't believe it's got anything to do with NobleShelf04, since they are just a detached reference object; I could (theoretically) float them in the air and they SHOULD wouk fine. BUT NO!!! I KNOW different bookshelves can work within the same cell. Please PLEASE help me!! I've already spent 14+ hours on this and am beginning to feel frustrated. I don't want to copy and paste since this seems to produce a lot of unwanted references and so will (I assume) slow the mod down. Also, I want to know how the CK works in greater detail so I can make future modificaations more efficient. ANY IDEAS??? TV
  4. I know this thread is old, but I've had a similar problem. I got one bookshelf working via the CK tutorial, but then I tried to create a second and it WILL NOT function.
  5. Hi again Twisted. Thanks for your help. I've sorted out all the probs except the mod manager, but I'll have to investigate that further and seek help in a more specific location I suspect. I was a total wally with the programs and downloads, and your help and some thinking time really helped solve the issues. Thanks mate, I owe you. TV
  6. Hi Twisted. Thanks for replying. I tried again with the nexus mod manager specifying this location: ============= Skyrim Location (the exe and launcher) ============= C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim <-- if you have the 64bit edition of windows It said "Path does not contain game EXE". Then when I try to use the NMM that program says "No games were detected! Nexus Mod Manager will now close." You're right about the PC business. It's already far superior and I'm just using a fairly crappy laptop with integrated graphics.
  7. Hi folks. Have encountered some major hassles, if anyone can give advice on any of them that would be great. I've only been at this mod business for 1 week but the frustrations are piling up fast. 1. Can't link Bethesda account to Steam account. When I go to link them from the Bethesda side, Steam is not an option. 2. There is no "Mods" menu item at the start of Skyrim, it just goes "Continue, New, Load, Credits Quit". So I can't download any PC mods from Bethesda which is a real bummer. 3. The Nexus Mod Manager can't find folder with the Skyrim.exe file in it, and so it won't download mods for me from Nexus. I searched the whole computer a few times and it appears there IS NO Skyrim.exe file. Hmm. 4. This forces me to download and install mods manually. I sorted out how to do that...kind of. If the mod is just an .esp file or a .bsa and a .esp I've been pasting them into the Data folder and that seems to work. If the manual download contains folders, I have no idea what to do and despite trying lots of variations have not been able to get any of those mods to work. 5. There seems to be no way to upload mods to Bethesda. How did all those mods get there?? New ones do appear from time to time, so... 6. About 60% of the mods I've tried through the process described above (in 4.) stop the game from even starting. It's a matter of trying different combinations of selected data files to see if I can use downloaded mods. Perhaps this would be less of an issue if I could download with the NMM. ANYWAY I'm getting a bit frustrated here and to be honest, the limited number of mods that I can actually get to work in the game, and all the hassles mentioned above, mean that playing Skyrim on the PC is actually LESS SATISFYING than playing it on the PS4. Incredible.
