  1. Just wanted to give a big thumbs up to to Shakh and Simon 86 for their mods that put more pedestrian traffic on the roads of Oblivion. Now traveling the highways and by-ways isn't so lonely anymore plus it's an easy way to "gear up." Also Monk for his streetlights along the roads, another awesome and long in coming mod.
  2. Been playing a lot of Oblivion lately but since I really don't feel like re-doing the main quest I've hit on something else that's been giving me a lot of laughs. First of all it involves using the console, plus cheating is involved (playing in god mode) Using the commands; Player.PlaceAtMe 0008699E and 0008699F I call up however many Ogre's and Trolls I think safe and turn them loose. Nothing is funnier than watching an ogre or troll charge unsuspecting marauders or bandits hedge wizards or goblins. One thing though, you have to be ready to hit that KILL switch (kill) on the ogre or troll it they are not killed . It's also a good idea to be in invisible mode and your back up against a wall. Another technique (if you are running one of the crowded roads mods) is to perch on top of a high rock overlooking a road and whenever a traveler appears, create an ogre or troll. I'm telling you I've laughed myself sick at some of the situations I've seen.
  3. And I'm a bit rusty on installing mods. Yes, I'm using Vortex but that's not where the problem seems to be. The mod I'm trying to use deals with changing the interior of the player shack in the Imperial city Everything looks good on Vortex and the mod shows up on the data file when you start the game, however when my character enters the shack nothing has changed. There's something I'm not doing but I can't remember what it is. I'm running the game on Win 7 (no steam) Can anyone help me out?
  4. Thanks Madmongo I knew it was something like that
  5. When I use the GECK to enter certain interiors such as vaults nothing shows up except one or two small items. Someone told me a long time ago what you had to do to correct this and see the interior but I've forgotten can anyone help me out?
  6. I think someone posted how to do it once but I'd like to add the power armor skill to one of my characters . (Alt start mod, character is a Enclave pilot but doesn't have the power armor skill)
  7. I'd really like someone to make a mod using the turpentine can model and making it a can of oil (LSA gun oil to be exact) Why Bethesda never did this has always puzzled me. Gun oil goes a lot farther in weapons maintenance than turpentine. Also, re-labeling one of the cans making it a can of coffee, obviously no coffee drinkers playing this game.
  8. Got my game settings at low but the pointer moves very slow, characters have jerky movements walls and such extend all over the place any ideas?
  9. I'm getting ready to play FO4 for the first time just as soon as it finishes downloading from Steam. I've been downloading and installing mods since Morrowind but frankly I'm a little nervous on this one. I've got NMM (0.65.10) which worked fine with FO New Vegas but I'm not sure it's up to this game. Now, I downloaded Wrye Bash and could go with that or stick with FMM. The mods I'm starting out with include; Bodyslide &Outfit Studio Eli Armor Comp Caliente-s Beautiful Bodies Looks Menu Wrye Bash Fallout Custom .ini ZeXFusion Girl-37 Start Me Up Dialogue prompts Any suggestions as to the load order? I really don't want to screw this up
  10. I've already studied previous posts concerning NV crashing during OWB and they don't really help my situation. It's the toughest add-on to play as it won't even let me get in (generally) I've managed to play it twice but when I try to return to the last save in OWB the game crashes. I'm currently playing a new character but the game always crashes either just before you're notified that your character is feeling a little woosy or just after the game loads. As I've said, I've managed to run through this add-on twice, the second time my game included the alternate start mod so I don't think that's causing the problem I've disabled all the mods dealing with OWB but it doesn't seem to help. Something is just not letting it continue.
  11. I've been playing (and using mods) in NV almost since the game came out . I gather there are no coffee drinkers who make mods as I've never seen cans of coffee, and considering how many guns are used I've never seen gun oil or bore solvent (Hoppes number 9) As for gun oil it seems like a re-texturing of the turpentine can would work for gun oil (3-in-one oil or something like that) A re-texturing of water bottle would work for the cleaning solvent. I'm also a little surprised Bethesda never tied gun maintenance to having these two items in your inventory. On the other hand, they've had whet-stones from the start but never tied them to maintaining edged weapons (I know there's a mod that will do this) but I could never figure out why they were just considered paper weights.
  12. I'm trying to do a little clean-up work in the General Store, as well as the Ranger Station behind it When I bring them up in the GECK nothing shows up other than three Radscorpians. I don't have this problem doing stuff in the main game or the lookout towers in HH. Any idea what's wrong?
  13. I did all that, even had Archive invalidation installed, and was running several mods things were fine. Then Since a lot of mods require the expansion pack I installed the 2nd disk (GOTY edition) Installed a few more mods that were basically .esp's that's when the game stopped running and I kept getting that message by the way, I'm running FMM as well
  14. I had Fallout 3 up and running mods installed, everything fine. Then I loaded the expansion pack (Broken Steel, Zeta, Pt. Lookout etc.) along with a few other mods. Now I keep getting the message: "The ordina 5360 could not be located in the dynamic link library xlive.dll" At first I thought it was a mod doing this so I deactivated every mod (and even the expansion pack mods) but I keep getting this message. Without pulling the whole game and starting over is there anything I can do?
  15. Search brought up quicksave all right but nothing that I was looking for. Seriously, I've been through my whole computer and come up with nothing I thought the game folder was in documents but no.
  16. Just started playing MW again and for the life of me I can't find the saved game folder (I want to delete a few games) If you know let me know too. Thanks
  17. Anyone have access to or know where some of the old mods (2004-2007) could be downloaded?" I'm looking for one called Glory Road which involved Princess Stomper. And a clothing quest mod by Venymora. I started playing the game back in 2004 and recently started playing again using characters that hadn't done anything since 2006 . I've spent a whole day surfing the old MW sites and modders, but sadly most are gone now.
  18. I'm having the same problem. When I hit the tab button to bring up the pipboy, I just get the pipboy without a screen, I cannot access weapons, clothing, quests etc. I'm playing three separate characters and when one won't display their PB I try another. Sometimes they will display the screen properly, sometimes not. When they do, I return to my original character and their PB will then display...But not always. Anyone know what's going on? could it be problems with NVSE?
  19. Well all I know is what the game guide says about it. Anyway, I keep telling the little girl sitting in the little park under the tree in Whiterun I would like to adopt her. She then asks me if I have a place where she can live. My only dialog choice is; "No I don't" even though my character lives in Breezehome. I've got three characters living in Breezehome and the answer is always the same.
  20. I pretty much felt the same way you did about the civil war, however I played one character fighting in the war on the Stormcloak side as the only quest played, Another came to her senses after becoming the Dragonborn and again fighting for good old Ulfric. I must point out at this point, both characters are Nords fighting for the Stormcloaks is the ONLY logical option if you're a Nord, just as fighting for the Imperial's is normal if your a member of one of the animal races or any sort of elf. There is another quest that doesn't tie in well (though it should) to the rebellion, and that is these Forsworn people. Apparently they not only hate the Imperials but the Nords as well, claiming Skyrim for their own. Bethesda made a big mistake by not tying them into the struggle in a more positive way. Being an adult, I look at this game in an entirely different light, finding that much of it doesn't make a lot of sense, there is so much I would change it wouldn't be funny, but this is just one man's opinion.
  21. I do have Hearthfire, in referring to the "message" the game guide speaks of a courier that will catch up with you after you've bought a house with a letter from the Jarl advising you that you can now add a child's bedroom, however there is a spare bedroom at Breezehome.
  22. Don't know if it's a bug or not, anyway I've got three characters that bought the house in Whiterun and all three have purchased all the home improvements, save the alchemy lab. They have yet to receive a message from Avenicci offering the childs bedroom upgrade which will let the character adopt a child. There is a spare bedroom in Breezehome and I don't understand what the problem is, anyone know what could be wrong. I've got the game guide, and according to it I meet all the requirements to adopt a child.
  23. Sorry if I'm covering old ground but I could use some advise on installing a complete game (Fallout NV) on Windows 7 This goes for mods as well. Originally I played on XP and saved mods as well as complete games. How do you go about making sure everything is where it should be on Win 7?
  24. I think Fallout 3 is a lot better than New Vegas simply because you don't have to screw around with Steam. I played the Hell out of FO3 then played New Vegas until problems caused by certain mods and the fact that I only have dial-up caused me to delete the game and everything associated with it totally off my comp, now it's just FO3. I like the storyline a little better in FO3, I can play characters in alternate starts and not feel bound by the quests, I didn't get that feeling in New Vegas, things feel more scripted there.I refer to New Vegas as"Howard Hughes versus the Roman Empire".I dunno, there were some things about New Vegas I liked, but for the most part I didn't think the storyline really made any sense. FO3 has problems with it's storyline as well, but things make more sense than in New Vegas.
