  1. Upon starting a new game, I noticed that some NPCs that I had never previously interacted with hated me, while others were calling me friend. It appears to be random: some characters have a "-1" relationship with me (rival), some have a "1" (friend), and some are appropriately at 0 (acquaintance). All these NPCs should have a disposition rank 0 with my character because as I have stated, this is a new save file. I haven't completed a single quest yet for any of these NPCs, nor have I done anything to anger them. I have no idea what is causing this. MY RIG: My game is located in the normal path for steam games. It is vanilla skyrim, it is completely up to date, and I have all of the DLCs. I use NMM, LOOT, and SKSE, and they are all up to date. MY MODS: NOTE: I replaced some of the mods listed above with asterisks as I am not certain if their mentioning is allowed on this forum.
  2. Some time last year I was in the mood to play Skyrim, so (for like the tenth time) I reinstalled the game, mods, etc. in order to make sure everything was clean and fresh because I have a tendency to destroy the game over my playthroughs. Every was fine and dandy, but I played one particular character for a very long time (over six months). My goal was to have a completionist character. Towards the end of my playthrough, the game was pretty much broken. I imagine adding and removing mods throughout the playthrough did not help. Textures would constantly break. Nothing was safe; be it rocks or hats, textures were always breaking (Or rather disappearing or missing? The objects just become completely light purple/blue) Also, the game was having a lot of CTDs upon changing cells. I finally finished as much as I felt I could on the character, and stopped playing him. I figured the save file just got so massive and dirty, and that's what was causing the issues, so I made a new character. Unfortunately, the issues did not stop. I did not get very far before I noticed that textures were breaking. Then I started having CTDs upon entering cells. Some cells had CTDs every time I would try to enter, so I could never enter them, like the Bannered Mare. I stopped playing for a few months. About a week ago I decided I wanted to play again. So I uninstalled the game, mods, and every other skyrim related file on my computer. I completely reinstalled the game and all of my mods. I made a test character. I never even left Whiterun (Alternate Start Mod - Breezehome start) and the textures were already starting to break again. Restarting the game fixes the textures, but I know they'll just start breaking again. I have not played long enough to see if the CTDs are also an issue. I have a large amount of mods - a little over one hundred. I was thinking perhaps the textures breaking were some sort of memory issue? I may be very incorrect, so I apologize in advance if I am. I am by no means an expert on any of this, and even if the problem is memory related, I do not know the solution. Also, just to clarify - No particular object's texture is breaking. It seems completely random. System Specs: CPU: Intel Core i7-4810MQ @2.80GHz GPU: Nvidia GTX 860M RAM: 16 GB Hard drive: 1 TB 64-bit OS I use SKSE and LOOT. I do not use any ENBs. I use classic Skyrim, and I have all of the Expansions, including the High-res pack. I use the Skyrim Nexus Mod Manager. I am using the current version of everything. My Plugins: NOTE: I starred out some of the mods because they are adult mods from another Skyrim modding website, and I do not know if their mentioning is allowed on this particular forum.
  3. EDIT: I made this post on the wrong forum. My bad.
  4. So whenever I would sleep or wait, there would be a very long pause before the waiting or sleeping slider would actually start ticking down. I went into settings and disabled autosave on rest and wait. Now, whenever I sleep or wait, the slider almost instantly starts ticking down. My startup loading screen and loading screens for entering cells were very long too, perhaps about as long as the console loading screens (15-20 seconds or more). So I also disabled autosave on travel. Not only are my cell entering loading screens much faster (only a few seconds) my startup loading screen is much faster, too. I do not understand what is causing this issue with the autosaving. Even when I press F5 to quicksave it takes a long time. But when I go to save my game regularly in the menu is takes about two seconds. I play with all the autosaves disabled as it makes my loading screens much faster, but it is an inconvenience as now I must consistently manually save my game. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue? My Laptop's Specs: My game is located in the normal Windows path for Steam. My game is completely up to date. I have all of the DLCs. I am using the most recent version of the NMM. I am using the most recent version of SKSE (it's the steam version). I am using LOOT. Here is my LOOT log/Mod list:
  5. Yes I've done tes5edit, but I am still have the CTD
  6. I tried wyre bash and i am still getting a CTD. All my mods in Wyre Bash have green boxes with green checks in them. I am assuming this means there are no conflicts
  7. I am using NMM, LOOT, and TES5EDIT. I just downloaded Wyre Bash, but I don't know how to use it
  8. Can you explain this more in depth please? I have no idea have no idea how to do any of that
  9. When I enter the Soul Cairn for the first time I get a CTD every time. Of course, I can't progress through the Dawnguard questline with this problem. I really have no clue what could be causing this problem, but I figure it could possibly be one of my mods. My laptop's specs: Intel Core i7-4810MQ CPU 2.8GHz 16 gb RAM Windows 8.1 64-bit 1 tb 7200 rpm hard drive GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M I have all the DLCs including the HD DLC. My game is utd I use the NMM and the steam workshop for mods. I also use SKSE, and I use LOOT to organize my mods. My Mod List:
  10. I've been playing Skyrim on my laptop with little to no problems. Everything had been running perfectly fine until I chose to start the companions questline. It all started during the quest "Proving Honor" I kept having a CTD when Farkas would turn into a werewolf when you were locked behind the gate. I used the console commands to bypass this part, and I thought nothing of it. Apparently it was still messed up because during "The Silver Hand" quest, when you drink Aela's blood, I kept having a CTD every time I would drink the blood. Eventually I had to use console commands to bypass almost that entire quest because the CTDs would never stop. At one point I couldn't even enter Whiterun to turn in a quest to Aela because it would CTD every time. I am currently on the quest "Striking the Heart" Almost immediately upon entering the cell I get a CTD. (There are werewolf heads on spikes in there and maybe dead werewolves. I don't because it always crashes.) Of course I thought the problem was werewolf related. But I have no mods that mess with werewolves (or so I think... my mod list is below) Also, Aela was in werewolf form during "The SIlver Hand" and I experienced no CTD when I was in the same cell as she. So maybe the CTDs are from male werewolves? That's just a thought. I really have no clue as to what could be causing all this, and it is making me very sad  My laptop's specs: Windows 8.1 64-bit Intel Core i7-4810MQ CPU 2.8GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M 16GB Ram 1TB 7200 rpm hard drive My game is fully up to date. I have it on Steam. I have all the DLCs, including the free HD one. I play on Ultra quality. I use the NMM and the Steam Workshop. I have SKSE. I use LOOT to organize my mods. My LOOT List: I looked up fixes to CTDs, and I found that one person fixed their CTDs by simply lowering the shadow detail. I tried that, and it fixed nothing. I tried lowering my graphics, and it fixed nothing. I cleaned up my plugins with TES5edit, and still the problem persists. I am truly stumped.
  11. I did it but there is still no change.
  12. Okay so you want me to turn off my DLCs? As in Dawnguard, Hearthhfire, and Dragonborn? Tried this and my save did not move from 30 mb
  13. I assume vsync is short for vertical sync? Because in my nvidia control panel there is a vertical sync option in the settings. There is no "half refresh adaptive" but I can set it on. Well I tried this and all it did was make my character and every NPC forced into a stance, just a normal stance but creepy nonetheless. When I move my character he just hovers.
  14. Since you opened the can.. Those are Bash tags (to put it simply). Wrye bash is a mod manager. With it you can create what is called a Bashed patch, the "tags" tell Wrye what to put into the patch. Delev = Delevel and Relev = Relevel . Using the tags, Wrye can make all those mods work together, Without the bashed patch..what ever mod is loaded last is the winner, because you can not have more then one mod change the same record. Yes, I only use Wrye bash, it controls all my installs, (308 at present and i am not done), it also handles my load order (121 ESM/P), and my saves.! Goofy things to try...Spin a 360 before going thru a load door...Open the map (make sure not in local) pan in all directions, close, then try a load door.Download the mod to remove the menu smoke...Open the console and type "PCB" without the quotes.....Smack side of Laptop<<<<just kiddingOhhh and if you are capping your Frame rate, try with it Off (no cap)If using an ENB...disable to test. I was actually on my entertainment setting rather than my high performance setting. I switched to high performance but nothing changed. Is there another way to make sure I am using the fast drive? As for your suggestions, I'll make time to try those out: Spin a 360 before going thru a load door... No change Open the map (make sure not in local) pan in all directions, close, then try a load door. No changeDownload the mod to remove the menu smoke... No changeOpen the console and type "PCB" without the quotes..... No changeSmack side of Laptop<<<<just kidding No changeOhhh and if you are capping your Frame rate, try with it Off (no cap) <-- I thought this was impossible? No changeIf using an ENB...disable to test.
  15. Thanks for your help. I guess the next logical step is to go through single mod to see which one may be causing the problem.
