  1. I'm using the Scrap Everything mod and just adding the line bUsePreCulledObjects=0 under the [display] was perfect. Fixed it, thanks a million for the info.
  2. I just had the same issue and what I found out was that my firewall was blocking 7zip within Vortex from working correctly. I set my firewall to allow it to work and now Vortex works just fine. lol, this was aggravating but I'm glad I figured it out!
  3. I'm sorry I thought I read some where that NMM was not going to be supported any more & I am still using it as well. It works fine as I said but I was MAINLY wondering why NMM was not given these improvements that Vortex has. Thankfully FlamingCheeseMonkey did an awesome job in explaining this to me and thanks to everybody else as well for the help. Its much appreciated and again I'm very sorry for sounding like a smart arse. Cheers
  4. I guess that you must have missed the title of my thread, "Why Vortex & Not NMM?". I think you could learn a thing or two from FlamingCheeseMonkey on how to actually be HELPFUL instead of destructive. Here are some really good quotes for people like your self. âAny fool can criticize, complain, and condemnâand most fools do. But it takes character and self-control to be understanding and forgiving.â â Dale Carnegie. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- âCriticism is an indirect form of self-boasting.â â Emmet Fox --------------------------------------------------------------------------- âHe has a right to criticize, who has a heart to help.â â Abraham Lincoln ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Enough said!
  5.     What I was saying about being "forced" to use Vortex is because NMM will no longer be supported so there will be no upgrades or bug fixes(when or if needed) made for NMM. So you either deal with a broken program or switch to Vortex that looked like it was not working very well. quote: "Since you've not tried out Vortex for yourself, don't you think it a bit presumptuous to post skeptical comments about Vortex" I did mention that I have not used it yet & I quote my self: "I have not used Vortex yet so I dont have a personal opinion of it" I also said this---> "I must admit "at this time" that I wont be installing it any time soon." Is it really so "presumptuous" as you put it, to not have some skepticism when it appears that a large amount of posts are negative? I realize that some of the posts where made by people that MIGHT have not installed Vortex correctly but I'm also not naive in believing its not always operator error either. I would like to say sorry for my harsh comments but when I get comfortable with a program and then find out thats its being replaced or not supported anymore it upsets me because I have to relearn a new program that seems to have a lot of negative feed back. I understand why it was done but it still bugs me even though the new one is suppose to be better. Sadly I have become very jaded about things because very little of anything is actually better. Hope you can understand me.
  6. Thank you very much for explaining this to me in detail so I can now make a much more informed decision on using Vortex over NMM & why that is. Now I know & understand why NMM was not simply upgraded & that would be because its not simple. I know very little about coding but I know it can be a reason why some things can and cant be done in certain situations so I really appreciate the detailed explanation as to why Vortex was made & NMM phased out. I will go ahead and switch over to Vortex now & thanks again. Forums need more people like you man. Cheers & much respect! ^^
  7. I dont know how to make programs or even mods so maybe there's a good reason why NMM got dragged far out into the woods & buried alive. I have spent the last 2 hours skimming through several posts in this forum concerning issues that people are having with Vortex & I must admit "at this time" that I wont be installing it any time soon. To me, making a new mod manager makes no sense what so ever when we already have one that works just fine(NMM)! Why didn't they just add these new features to NMM instead of going through the trouble of making a new mod manager from scratch which FORCES everybody to spend(waste) valuable time reading up on how to use ANOTHER mod manager? NMM as far as I know seems to be pretty well established with the gaming community & the only thing that I wish NMM had is a good auto load order function to it instead of the limited one it has now but other then that, it works great for me! I wonder, is it impossible to improve the NMM for some unknown(at least unknown to me) reason & if it cant then why is that? I'm sorry but again this makes no sense to me and I find it very counter productive when you can simply improve NMM if thats not impossible for some strange reason. I have not used Vortex yet so I dont have a personal opinion of it but from what I have read so far, it seems that it dose what a real vortex dose & that would be sucking boats & the occupants down to a watery grave. :/ I dont know but putting all the time and effort it takes to make a new mod manager instead of simply improving the one we have had for wile now seems kinda pointless. What ever the reason or reasons are, I'm not impressed so far but thats just me and I realize my take on things means nothing to the gods that be. One last thing, even though I'm a bit pi$$y about a new mod manager if it ends up working better then the NMM then I can deal with that just fine but if dose not work better then NMM.....
  8. Thnx guys. Well, its good to know that its not just me but an issue with NMM. @ jjb54. I will post anything new I might find or any further questions I might have your post. Thnx again. If a GM could lock this thread then that would be great. Cheers ^^
  9. Let me plz start off by saying that I sent a PM to one of the creators about this first before coming to the forum with this in hopes to get help with it without making a post in here. So, for what ever reason he or she was unable to reply to my request for help(I'm sure there was a good reason) but np. Moving on. For some reason unknown to me NMM(new version) says that version 8.5 is newer then version 8.51 of the mod AWKCR. Is there any way to fix this? I have attached a screen shot so that you can see what I'm talking about. I would like to say thank you for any and all help that you guys may be able to prove me with.
  10. Just an update. I completely uninstalled FO4 and all my mods including other programs that managed game and the mods. I even when though windows and deleted all folders of anything that had to do with FO4 as well. I wanted to start over and hope that I can nip this issue in the butt before it even shows its ugly face. I have learned a lot so I will use that from the get go. ~crosses fingers~
  11. I ran Loot yesterday and it found several dirty mods so then I ran FO4Edit quick clean option to fix those mods. I ran Loot again and everything was good but I'm still having issues with load order. I will try to work on it more but it gets to be a bit a bit frustrating when I spend much more time trying to get the mods to instead of actually playing the game. I have thought about just uninstalling everything and starting over but only running a few mods at a time and then add more but only one at a time to see what happens with each mod as I install them though NMM. I love the mods for FO4 because they make it way better then vanilla to the point that I could never play FO4 without them but getting them to play nice with one another is no small undertaking. I wish that ALL mods could be put into its own load order slot. Load order slot #1 would have ALL the mods that must go into that load order slot and on down to the last slot that way I could look up the mod I want and see what load order slot it belongs in and then make sure its in the proper slot in NMM. This would be a dream come true. Again, thanks guys for the help and I will continue to figure this all out.
  12. Sorry for not responding right away. Been busy trying to mess with load order & improving FPS. First off I would like to say thank you Sangeki for your advice and I will look into that asap. Now @ SirTiswt thank you as well. Not sure how my load order was a spoiler but I hope I did as you asked and I do apologize for not knowing that. I use NMM. Yes, I have & it misplaced some of the mods. How ever, I will go and run it again to see what mods it puts out of proper load order by running the game to see what ones that are not working or not working as they should.
  13. I'm so very sorry to ask for help on this darn load order issue I'm having but I'm at my wits end on this. I have spent over a week trying to get this correct even after researching this issue by reading and watching guides. I have even tried using Loot but that actually makes things worse so after trying to do this on my own I have come to the point where I need somebodies help on this. Could you experts anybody who knows please tell me what load order I should use for the mods I have now? Also I'm open to any help on how to figure this out for my self in the future as well. I would like to offer a suggestion if I may please. I think this might make this whole load order thing work much better for those of use that cant seem to understand this stuff. I think it would be awesome if there was a place where you people that like to make mods could post your mod in a special thread where ALL modders could list their mod in a preset category that would show where their mod fits in the proper load order. So for instance the list could be category #1(mods that must be first in the load order) and then to #2, #3, #4.....on down to the last load order. I dont know how this could be made up but it might need to be accessible only to those that make mods to add or edit their mods in the list and it would need to be something that people like my self could look up and read. A "warning" about possible & or known conflicts with other mods be added with a link to that mod for the details. It could be named "Load Order For Dummies". Modders would be asked(not expected) to list their mod in the "Load Order For Dummies" before they put their mod up for download . I realize that this may be asking a lot or may not be possible but this would be a dream come true! Also, they would not need to give any details about the mod in this list but only place it in the proper category for load order. I feel that this list would really be helpful and could take out at least some if not all of the confusion for a proper load order. Thnx for any and all help you guys can offer me and I hope my idea might be helpful or at least give some ideas on how this issue might be made better. You guys have my complete respect and my deepest gratitude for all the hard work and dedication you all do to make Fallout 4 even better! Here is my current load order: SPOILER ALERT
  14. EDIT : I been wondering why loot detector will not scrap mutants, mutant hounds, & mongrels? This might also include dogs as well but I cant remember if that is indeed correct. Thnx guys/gals for the help. lol, I got Loot Detector & Scrap Everything all mixed up. But yeah, I'm not sure why Scrap Everything can be spotty like that. But it never allows me to scrap mutants and their mutant dogs.
  15. For the life of me I cannot get the Loot Detector mod from xatmos to work. Been at this for about 3 hours now & I cant take anymore frustration over it. I suppose I'm not doing something correctly but I cant figure out what that is & I have followed the direction to the best of my ability. It shows up in the NMM as a working mod but when I get into the game and check misc. section of my inventory for the Loot Detector holotape, its not there. Been getting sick and tired of trying to find corpses so I can loot them. I do know that some corpses fall through the ground, roll down hills(specially bloat flies), and that explosions like a grenade can throw corpses ridiculously far away so this mod would be sweet if only I could get it working. Thnx for any and all help everybody. Cheers :geek:
  16. kk, ty. lol, I will look again for the Fallout 4 forum.
  17. OK, I spent over an hour trying to find out if there is a body & head piece for the Lucky armor set & I cant find any information on the armor set. Could be that my google skills are sucking. I have both legs and arms at the moment but would love to know if there is a head & body piece and if so what mob and location I might find these 2 pieces if they even exist. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thnx in advance!
