thanks, i think it's just the lighting mod I have installed that makes it stand out more than usual

I have blocky textures inside dungeons with snow etc.. on the walls, especially the ones with glowing folage. Here's examples and my mod list / load order.. http://imgur.com/a/UMvV5 but it might be a ini setting for all I know, I've even tried disabling mods one at a time.
