  1. Actually, scrap all of this. Turns out I wasn't as..... thorough in re-installing my mods.
  2. Well, I'm not sure where to begin, as it's been several months since I've visited Skyrim. Well the game itself still runs perfect, I've hit a...... situation I've never encountered before with the creation kit, and is most likely can't be fixed. So I wanted to make changes to a particular npc overhaul I've been using. However, any time I click on an actor, I'll get a string of error messages before I get 'Creation Kit has stopped working', where as in the past, I'd just get the error strings, but still be allowed to try and make my changes. I thought at first that maybe the ApachiiSky hair .esm's were screwing with the mod in question, but I've discovered that's not the case, as even skyrim.esm with no other plugins brings me the same problem. I'm not sure if updating the Nexus Mod Manager today has done something irreversible or not, but is there something I should do in this case? Are there any other workarounds or alternative programs I can use? Or should I just chalk this up as, 'lolbethesda'?
  3. OK, I think that unf&%ked my game. I think now I'm gonna play jenga when it comes to adding mods this time around instead of just brute-forcing everything from an old laptop.
  4. ^Complete wipe. Including the .ini files in documents, the skyrim folder in appdata, NMM, TESVedit, everything skyrim has been cleared.
  5. This will be my 4th clean install. Which probably won't make any difference because I'm dealing with a strategically perfect CTD scenario that causes me to CTD after the mean menu each time. All mods have been purged, all saves have been deleted. Steam cloud synchronisation has been disabled. I think this due to trying Gopher's TESVedit cleaning tutorial before starting a new game. If that's the case, I'm managed to screw the game to the point where it can't be unscrewed. I'm at my wit's end here........
  6. Doesn't matter now. I've messed up upon a clean install, and now I think I've broken Skyrim beyond repair...... After reloading my mods, I made the mistake of doing Gopher's TES5edit cleaning tutorial. Now, after a THIRD clean install, I've got a perfect CTD beyond the main menu. No mods, no saves. Might make a another topic for this......
  7. Bump: Purged all my mods, and did a clean install of everything - even NMM. A quick run of Skyrim unmodded shows that the problem was indeed with my mods, as pretty much all latency errors vanished. I still don't get it though. My mod list was relatively light compared to some users. Although, I'd been carrying saves via steam cloud over two machines. Even my first install was overwritten via a usb copy because I didn't want to lost any mods.
  8. Aight..... Processor: I7-4790k Ram: 16GB Graphics Card: nvidia geforce GTX-980 TI Card Driver: 353.30 Load Order. (Re-organised by boss) Skyrim.esm Update.esm ApachiiHair.esm Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp FallOut3Hairs.esp OblivionHairpackAIO.esp akaviri dai-katana.esp Remodeled Armor - Vanilla Replacer.esp Remodeled Armor - Underwear.esp cbbecurvy.esp RealisticNeedsandDiseases.esp RND_USKP-Patch.esp ApachiHairstylesELVES.esp (npc rehaul) ApachiHairstyles.esp (npc rehaul) CharacterMakingExtender.esp EnhancedCharacterEdit.esp LovelyHairstylesCE.esp Purewaters.esp RND_Purewaters-Patch.esp RND_AnimalLoot.esp SofiaFollower.esp Elephant's Script Latency Tester.esp Should also be noted that framerate holds an unbroken 60 regardless of what V-sync is doing. What I'm experiencing are script delays I think, and not framedrops. But it doesn't make much sense. I shouldn't be getting script delay if I'm only running 22 mods. As of typing this message, I cleaned the update.esm via TES5edit. Started a new game, almost ganked the intro scene with heavy script delay, Restarted again. Intro scene restored, but sound/action latency issues have persisted. At this point I'm redownloading all the afformentioned mods I can find in preparation for a clean install.
  9. BUMP: Tried purging all of my saves and starting a new game. No improvement.
  10. OK, so I just got a new custom built rig a few days ago packing a GTX 980 ti, and testing out Skyrim was naturally one of the first things I did. I'm having some critical issues which I've narrowed down to being associated with V-syncing, which I'll be dubbing, "The Coin of Two-Face" With V-sync turned on.... *Sound delays-anything from a few seconds to half a minute. Noticed mainly on jumping, and sounds of other npc characters. *Arrow delays between the same time frame. *NPC's and textures not loading correctly(noticed this really affected the intro level somewhat) With V-sync off...... *Considerable screen tearing *flickering water surfaces *crazy physics glitches *At one point I was teleported into the side of a cliff face upon loading a game. Should be noted that my monitor/TV is only capable of 60hz. Coin is flipped on both regular and SKSE launchers. Tried using framerate limiters, at which the only gave me more extremes of afformentioned problems. Updating the Unofficial Skyrim Patch has done nothing either. Is there an actual fix for this? Or are we just meant to flip the coin depending on what glitches we're willing to tolerate more? EDIT: I ran Elephant's latency test to see if my mods were causing script bloating. Test revealed I'm running between 60-70ms (which is supposedly good). Yet arrow and sound lag still persist with vsync turned on.
  11. OH! I've been waiting for a chance to answer a question like this! I had trouble with the grey face bug in ck for a while. But, after extensive google searches, I can tell you this: The cause for your greyface/mismatching forehead bug is the way the creation kit handles custom body meshes and textures. For your cosmetic editing, you're actually better off using the Skyrim NPC editor. What you would do, is you would load up your mod with the editor, find your npc, make your cosmetic changes, then save WITHOUT ticking either 'save to bsa', or save as new npc. What will happen is it will save your changes as a new .esp. When it does this, it will create both a meshes and textures folder where ever you've saved it(make sure you save your .esp in a separate entry from Skyrim's data folder). Once you've done that, drag and past your new meshes and textures folder, into Skyrim's data folder, aaaaand, you're done! The only drawback with the NPC editer is that if you're using custom hairpieces like ApachiiSky hair, the NPC editor won't show them(at least I haven't worked out how to make them visible), where as with CK, you can sort of. Otherwise, I'd be using the NPC editor exclusively for making cosmetic changes.
  12. Bump and update. Turns out that changing to any pre-set hold outfit will register as being worn-without boots and gloves. While changing to other armor sets(steel, glass, etc) will register the entire outfit as being worn. My helmet-less pale guard outfit still registers as nakey though. As I said previously: throwing the same outfit on another npc works properly, but not on the guards I want to change. What causes this?
  13. So due to an armour replacement mod I'm using, I'm trying to get rid of the arrow-knee helmets on only female hold guards and stormcloaks, using Dawnstar as a testing ground. After tinkering abit in CK, I think I'm about halfway there. By changing the actor bases on certain Dawnstar guards, I have managed to differentiate armours between male and female guards. Just not to my desired effect. Upon loading my saved game, the change does not instantly take effect. Only by waiting 6-12 hours will I see change. The said change however, are my female guards going NAKEY! I've tried a few things to rectify my problem, such as setting up the outfits similar to how the stormcloaks are set to(with greenboxed outfit lists), but to no avail. The weird thing is that some outfits, such as the helmet-less WhiteRun variant will be worn by the edited guards-minus boots after the 12 hour wait(but it's a damn sight better than NAKEY). Even more weird, is that applying the dawnstar outfit to one of the Companions in Whiterun, will register the full outfit as being worn-instantly. ...And with google not giving me any results for fixing, I've hit a strategical brick wall here. Is there something I'm missing here?
  14. I wasn't even trying to create a fancy armour set of my own. All I did was just set Njada Stonearm's default outfit to the helmet-less hide outfit. Now she's nakey. And refuses to un-nakey. How did this happen? Why did this happen? And how do I fix it?(assuming it can be fixed)
