  1. You're right, it's not bad at all. You need to export it with niftools script. its not too hard to setup for blender. Check this out here to find out how to install nifscripts Here's a link to the niftools website for all the downloads too: http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/Blender You can then export it as a nif, and put it into nifskope, or another way I believe it can be done, is you export it as an OBJ file, and import it into the Outfit studio, which might be easier. I'm not exactly 100% sure, as I haven't done this myself yet. I'm Currently trying to find out how to UV map my own model. I have no idea how to do it. This guide right here: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Fallout_4._Part_1 is absolutely amazing as well. you need to add a material to your model, then add a uv map so you can add the texture. there's quite a lot of steps. Also I notice your watch has a very high polycount. You might really want to try to reduce it to optimize it for the game, as too high of a poly count would make the item harder to render in game compared to others (making the gpu work harder for the watch). There really is no set polycount limit, its just something to take into consideration. You could try looking up on how to bake normal maps for your model, if you feel like optimizing it, and there are other methods of reducing polycount. Here's my model of joshua graham's vest:
  2. IS IT f*#@ING DONE? If anyone wants to texture this thing let me know
  3. UPDATE: Made the boxes for the vest, now alls I gotta do is add em and shiz naps BAP DAP FROG BUTT
  4. Before I go I do have a question if anyone even cares or knows the answer to this: I've noticed many meshes for fallout, typically prefer to use triangular shaped meshes, rather than square shape meshes, so is there a major reason to use the mesh on the left rather than the mesh on the right? Does it even matter? If anyone can answer this question I'd appreciate it. If not I'm going to stick with the quads over the triangles. I UNDERSTAND THE ANSWER NOW THANKS TO LOTS OF GOOGLE WHY THE f*#@ AM I STILL AWAKE AAAAAAAAA
  5. UPDATE: After study of topology, I have cleaned up my absolutely terrible mesh. Still needs work, in the back, but it's not nearly as horrible as it was before. Took quite a while to do this. Here's a before and after shot... 3d modeling man it's crazy s***, I have mad respect for all the modelers out there right now... Anyways, wish me luck meeples. Edit: FINALLY CLOSED THE VEST. Update Number 2: Ive spent hours working on adding depth to the vest by adding edges, and adding the back part to the vest. I THINK I EARNED SOME WIGGGGLLEEEE TIMEEEEEEE
  6. I am attempting to recreate josh's outfit from fonv from scratch. I am new to modeling so it most definitely has lots of mesh errors etc... So far I am attempting to create his bullet proof vest, this is my progress. I don't think it's so bad for a complete beginner he he. I am starting with the vest because it seemed the easiest piece to do. I probably stand no chance doing the clothes/ bandages/ etc. I intend to make them separate pieces so they can be worn with other items, and stuff. This took me nearly 8 hours straight, excluding the time i spent into researching blender and stuff. I'm f***ing tired for tonight. The vest is split in half because I am using mirror mode in blender. If there's any experienced modelers out there shoot some advice/tips my way, or help out with my shitty mesh, I would appreciate the constructive feedback, and help. If anyone knows what I need to do to clean up the mesh let me know, and if you want to help, I'll take all the help I can get with this.
  7. The rectangle placement for fallout 2 is incorrect, as part of it takes place in oregon too.
  8. Anythings possible if you're willing to put the work into it, That's a massive scale project and would probably take years to be honest.
  9. This is as far as I've come so far. I imported an image of the outfit I found on the wiki page. I'm not very good at extruding as the model always some how ends up getting messed up when I get decently far with it because I press some key I'm not supposed to on accident and I can't undo the move with ctrl z for some reason. It happens to me all the time, so I gotta save frequently with this obviously. You mentioned importing a skeleton, but I'm not quite where to find the default male skeleton for fallout 4, much less import it into blender. I've decided I'm going to try and start with the vest and see where it takes me. I've already downloaded the Nif tools I need for blender, etc, but i've also read I could save it as an OBJ and import it into the outfit studio. But yeah, right now my main concern is the mesh, because it's probably the most important part, and I've got a lot of ground I need to cover. I'll definately need to start smaller first to get my bearings with the program, so I've been watching tutorials on how to create other things, and from what I've seen its mainly just using the reference, and extruding/ shaping vertices. However, when I look at a lot of the meshes people make for fallout 4, they include a lot of triangles, rather than squares. Edit/Update: so Yeah,This is as much as I've gotten done so far. it's definitely not the best, and I definitely don't know what I need to do next.
  10. That's what I was originally trying to do, but that's rather selfish of me. If I put the outfit in the game, it would be cool to let others use it too, because it is a very cool outfit. I'm strongly considering recreating the outfit from scratch now just i think that it's outrageous . Problem is i don't know where to start, so I'm looking for modeling tutorials for fallout 4 but seem to be coming up dry. The worst thing that could happen is I learn something about 3d modeling. I've made a few 3d models before, but used tutorials, and I know with game meshes, they need to be pretty specific.
  11. Yeah I was in the process of editing the meshes to fit the body, but then I read that it was wrong so I x'd out of it. The only 3d modeling program I have is blender, and I doubt I could recreate anything fantastic in that. 3ds max is also out of the question for me, if it's possible to use blender, then I'll go for it, but I know absolutely nothing.
  12. I wasn't aware of that. Like I said before I am NEW to making mods. I haven't even made one. Why is that a thing? I paid for both games, the developers support modding, and practically give you all their tools, how could I have expected some kind of rule like this? Kind of goes back on their attitude. If this is the case, why can people on the nexus also teach me how to do this. Does this mean if I want to make Josh's armor for fallout 4 I need to completely make it from scratch or something? Is that how there are NCR Ranger armors on the nexus? I have absolutely no modeling experience so I cannot do that, and I doubt any one else would want to do this unless I paid them to. I thought the point of modding was to do whatever the hell you want to your game and not care what the world thinks. Obviously I wouldn't be able to share this mod, but whats to stop me from completing this for my own personal use? Edit: Yeah I did more research on the topic, I can see why that could be a legality problem. Even though I was close to finishing porting this armor, I will cease and desist. This just gets harder and harder the more I think about it.
  13. hello, I am currently not trying to import anything any more, but make Joshua Grahams outfit from scratch so that there can be a free asset for everyone to use, because that's absurd. Okay, I'm brand new at modeling, so any advice on creating meshes is very much appreciated. I will be using blender, as it's free. I have never made a mod before aside from custom radio mods for myself. I am just an average person, no one special, so don't expect me to know anything about anything. Anyways thanks for the advice, and if you want to help, I'll take all the help I can get. Also If I'm doing something wrong please call me out on it.
  14. I was looking in the meshes .bsa, Is it in the honest hearts main .bsa? Edit: also I am using FOMM Edit 2: I think I found them? They are called jgraham_outfit.nif? Edit 3: Yes I believe these to be them thank you for the help.
  15. Does any one know how I can find Joshua grahams armor NIF file so i can open it in nifskope? I am having trouble locating it, I'm brand new to modding, sorry. Also if you happen to know how to locate his bandages I would appreciate those as well.
  16. Is it possible to import the burned mans outfit or gun from new vegas DLC into fallout 4? He was one of the coolest characters in New vegas in my opinion and its a shame not to see him anymore. I've never made a mod before so I don't exactly know what I need to do. The only 3d modeling program I have is blender and I don't know if I could try it myself. How much work would be involved for a project like this? Thanks!
  17. I find it very frustrating for when I build stuff to find a way to stack things without having a large singular wooden post to rest things on. If you can see from the attached image, I've had to use a power pylon in order to achieve a non float look. If its possible to add a wooden post structure, capable of having no collision (as in I can put it through anything and in anywhere) It would be very useful. In creating large stacked settlements for looks and realism.
