  1. Well, the specs are good enough. I'm kind of stumped. My only suggestions are: 1) Could the DVD be damaged? 2) Do you have anything running in the background that could be interfering? 3) Is your screen abnormally high-res / did you change to some resolution that wasn't invented when the game was released? 4) Would the problem persist after a reinstall? Never heard of a similar problem other than the time my graphic card was overheating and everything except the interface went black.
  2. If you are starting up for the first time, and you have no mods installed, it sounds like a hardware/driver issue. Please check the following: 1) Did you purchase the game in a store, or through Steam? If so, when/how old is the disc? 2) Do you have the latest official patch installed? 3) Are your graphic drivers up to date? 4) Is your graphic card overheating / is the fan on the card clogged with dust?
  3. Do you have the Crash Preventer installed in your OBSE plugin folder by chance? If so, delete it and it should be fine again. Less crashes are nice, but sometimes Oblivion needs to crash. When saving a game that should normally have crashed a while back, it can corrupt the save. Stutter Remover can sometimes cause a similar issue, so I'd look up both of those mods if they are installed and see how the game runs without them.
  4. By any chance, do you have http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=22282 installed? I once had a similar problem, and the fix was to remove it. If you don't use it though, perhaps it can fix the problem? It seems to have helped a lot of people. It's also a shot in the dark, but it has helped me before: You could try disabling Ren's Guard Overhaul. It caused a CTD issue for me after the final battle of the main quest, perhaps it would do the same for Jyggalag? If neither of this helps, I'm afraid your only option would be to deactivate everything but the bare minimum of the required mods for loading your game, and then reactivate them one by one or two by two to pinpoint which plugin is causing you to crash.
  5. Do the game crash if you enter any other cells other than Sheogorath's Palace? Like for instance, can you enter crucible, fast travel or save without crashing?
  6. I'd try sorting with BOSS first, and if that doesn't do anything you should temporarily disable all plugins related to Shivering Isles, including the Unofficial Patch and see if the problem persist. Crash upon certain cells are almost always plugin related. Hope it helps.
  7. Well, you could always use spells to open locks. Or use the skeleton key and just spam auto attempt. Or download a mod that allows you to bash locks open. Or install a mod that just unlock all chests and doors. Or install the mod that makes lockpicking like it was in Morrowind. I'm not familiar with how lockpicking in Skyrim works, but there's a lot of workarounds for Oblivion already.
  8. You should definitely run BOSS (Better Oblivion Sorting Software) to fix the load order. Also, FFVV_OOO_Birthsigns might cause problems, I don't see OOO in your loadlist.
  9. Try doing an uninstall of the unofficial DLC patch and see if the problem persists. Maybe it conflicts with some other mods you have?
