  1. Insted of a bank, why not a casino royale? It would be much more intresting....
  2. I saw the U-Tube video. It`s very exciting. But is it workable to open the sails when the ship is not at port? That would make it more immersive. I was thinking that you should disable any fast-travel from the island.Making the ships the only way on/off the island.Like a ferry boat schedule. Once you arrive, you must watch for the next boat, easy to see with full sail.
  3. I suggest you keep the PC on the island until the Mod is complete. Each NPC that arrives has some task/decision for the PC to handle. When you develope your NPCs, develope the sidequest for each one. That should keep our hero busy for awhile.
  4. Qquix, That is the best discription yet. I might add that keeping a balance would also promote growth. For example: Industrial meaning a farm or a saw-mill will produce goods, but also require homes for the employees to live in.Well they can`t ALL live on the farm.Residential areas will need to be established.Commercial areas as well to sell the goods that are produced. So Industrial/commercial/residential factions will all have sidequests that need to be done in order to grow.Well I say,set them all in conflict, make the PC choose a side. Do you want BIG industry? Do this for us against them.Add some drama. Quest: Only one river on this island.Industrial faction wants it to power the many sawmills along both sides.Commercial faction wants the river to move trade goods to port with giant barges.Residential faction wants the river for it`s high value homes all along the river bank.So the Industrial faction will pay the PC to shipwreck a barge. And the Commercial faction will pay the PC to smash the dam.And the Residential faction will pay the PC to crash a barge into a sawmill.
  5. Qqix, Okay, I used to play this game called SimCity. It sounds alot like what you are trying to do. So if I`m not mistaken, I`m not much use to you on the internal distribution part, roads, industrial zones, power grid. However I still might be helpful for decoration.Civic Feasthall,Mortuary,Ragpicker Square Landfill, exc. My concept could add flavor to your town.Sidequests would make it intresting to live there. And if it`s like SimCity, once you reach Max Production,"we have all done it" you cause some natural diasaster to destroy the whole thing. This time let the Factions do it for you.As a result of sidequests gone bad. Uh...What are Kudos? What does that do?
  6. Qquix, Well I don`t know about being more productive.I guess I`m not sure I understand exactly how your engine works. My idea was more about the quest part and the physical results.Oh and thankyou for the edit. Yeah I didn`t know that.
  7. Qquix, Sorry,I made a typing mistake in that last entry."True life is to be celebrated with positive feelings, but he who gets restless, and tries to rush things, dies a fool.UNLESS he is muted, dull, full of pain, and twisted with sorrow." I apologise for any confusion.
  8. Qquix, Definition: If a party (20-30) is not harmonious, the opposing cliques are called factions. Let me try to elaborate a different way. Citizen one: By age: Elderly By gender: male By profession: Blacksmith By race: human By faction: Godsmen But who is this NPC ? What does he want? What is he all about? You may ask.... Well to Godsmen all things are godly. All things can assend to greater glory. If not in this life, then in the next.Patience, that`s all it takes.Survive, succeed, and ascend, that`s the goal of all Godsmen. A glorious Foundry would make a statment for the Godsmen. Citizen two: By age: young By gender: male By profession: hunter/gatherer By race:Tiefling By faction: Doomguard You may ask.... People die, rocks erode, stars fade. That`s entropy, the fate of the universe.Nothing last forever.Terrible thing? Not for the Doomguard. It`s the way things are supposed to be,the goal of everything natural. Nothing makes a statement for the Doomguard like a Landfill. Citizen three: By age: Elderly By gender: female By profession: Physician By race: human By faction: Dustmen You may ask.... Respect death. Don`t ever treat it like a servent.Say the Dustmen.True life is to be celebrated with positive feelings, but he who gets restless and tries to rush things, dies a fool.He is muted, dull, full of pain, and twisted with sorrow. The Dustmen are very restless. And nothing would make it more clear than a grand Mortuary. Okay I have 21 more NPCs. Each belonging to eight different factions. Also I have three Dabus and three Modrons who don`t belong to any faction...yet. All are stranded together on your little island, waiting for the PC to arrive. Want to know more?
  9. Qquix, Alright just one more. Quest:The Dabus have been busy all this time. They have repaired and restored a nearby Ayleid ruin to it`s former glory and splender, using whatever was around, mostly waste. Now every faction has laid some claim to it. The PC must decide what to do with this new Palace. If the PC keeps it for himself, the Factions will certainly demand some compensation/retribution for it. Unless of course he could somehow prove that he is the rightful owner. That intresting?
  10. Qqix, here is another one. Quest:Each Faction has something positive to offer the community.Dustmen have zombies for tireless labor.Mordrons can build clockwork machines.Godsmen are by far the best craftsmen.Sensates are the finest designers and artists. How will the PC bargin with each Faction to get it`s contribution? How will the PC insure co-operation and fairness without choosing a side? Quest:Each Faction wants it`s own culture center.Dustmen want a Mausoleum,Godsmen want a Foundry,Sensates want a Civic Feasthall, the list goes on and on. Each structure is both difficult and expensive to build. How will the PC manage available resorces for this? How many Factions will fall through the cracks of fairness and become angry? And if well favored by the PC, which faction will try to dominate all others?
  11. Qqix, I still believe that my idea could be a useful resource for you. Please Google Planescape Torment. There is also a demo that you can download if you like. Here are some sidequest ideas for Evenor, using my concept. Quest: What is to be done with the gate to Sigil? Should the PC try to destroy it? Anything or nothing could happen. Should the PC try to study it indefinatly, while leaving it open for more and more refugees to enter Cyrodiil? Should the PC try to bury it, hoping that it will close on it`s own? How will this effect Evenor? What will the refugees do? How will this effect Sigil? Will it be an act of war or an oppritunity to empty Curst Prison? Please tell me if you like this idea. I have more to offer if you do.
  12. I have a suggestion. With all these oblivion gates, opening and closing lately. What if one of them opened into Sigil the city of doors? Imagine citizens flowing into Tamriel only to discover that there is no key to return. Also remember that Sigil is composed of all different factions.Sensates,Dustmen,Mercykillers, all angry/happy for having been stranded here. Now you could divide the island accordingly.Rebuild the Hive.Rebuild the Foundry.Rebuild the Civic Feasthall. Think of the irony,Planescape Torment could be alive and well in Oblivion.
