  1. I have a "magical crystal fragment" stuck in my inventory from a Falskaar quest. After completing the quest 3 of the 4 were removed but the last one is still stuck and since it's a mod added item I don't know the item ID to use player.removeitem on it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of it? Minor issue I know but it bothers me.
  2. This troll thread is so successful you should all be ashamed of yourselves.
  3. Well I know you can use the console to add the Dark Elf 50% fire resistance without needing any mods at all. Then it would stack with the Breton 25% magic resistance to make her very tolerant but not entirely immune to fire off the get go.
  4. So the 1.9 update was supposed to allow us to reset skills back to level 15 and start over leveling them again but it's not working for me at all. I go to a skill (say one-handed) that I have at 100 and it gives me the "press space for legendary" text where the perk point total normally appears. But when I press space all it does is zoom in on the perk tree to assign points. Why? What am I doing wrong here? My game is completely up to date and I don't have an UI altering mods like SkyRe installed that might cause conflicts.
  5. Most people will max out all the skills they use by level 40-50. Getting past that requires using skills that aren't in your playstyle.
  6. You know that the opposing argument is going to be "that's because the Septim family was a divinely blessed lineage" right? And that now that the dynasty has changed that the rules no longer apply. That argument would be wrong then. The Septims were not given any special abilities above normal people. The only blessing they received was that Oblivion would be separated from Tamriel as long as their line was in control of the Empire. How long they remained in power was up to them.
  7. That person was me. You would be correct in a situation on an open battlefield but the context of my post referred to a choke point like mountain ranges which was the hot topic at the time. Significantly less oil is needed to cover a choke point in fire than an entire battlefield. Also, the whole point of the oil is because I realize destruction magic is dependent on the users' magicka but oil is not. The magic is only needed to start the fire, and even at that you could easily shoot a few burning arrows for the same effect. The point of the oil is not to engulf the entire field but to simply catch clothing on fire or roast troops inside their steel armor. I'm also quite convinced the weakness of fire ingame is purely gameplay balance. Destruction magic in realistic applications would be extremely overpowered. Chained lignting for example could electrocute entire formations of tightly grouped troops in steel armor.
  8. So you judged the entire Empire on the poor decision of one nameless legate?
  9. That's a bit like saying, if the government outlaws drugs, it's merely a suggestion you don't sell, buy or use them privately. The treaty with the Thalmor makes worship of Talos illegal for everyone. The law was just very poorly enforced until the Thalmor rapped the Empire's knuckles about it. The people who still worship Talos, do so illegally, meaning they are breaking the law by following their believe. For someone who usually tries to be a good citizen that isn't exactly a comfortable situation, just as having to lie about your believes isn't. It's not an ideal situation but the point he's making is that Ulfric (probably motivated by the Thalmor) created a situation which gave the Thalmor the excuse they needed to actively hunt Talos worshippers. Ulfric created a problem then presented the "cure" to gain support for his attempt at the throne. He blew the problem out of proportion and as a result Talos worship went from being illegal on paper to being illegal in practice. It's like when a country brags about violating a UN sanction. They get pressured back into their place. That's exactly what the Thalmor are doing since Ulfric decided to recklessly flaunt defiance of the treaty agreements forcing the Empire to allow the Thalmor a presence to verify that the Empire is keeping with it's deal. Ulfric's complete lack of understanding or complete disregard for politics is not a good trait for a leader who will need to deal with other countries.
  10. Haha best of luck with the channel. Might stop by and give you some SC2 pointers even (I'm diamond league). :P
  11. New to the thread but has anyone told you that you sound almost identical to TotalBiscuit it's almost unreal? TB is a rather popular gaming personality who's recently become a Starcraft 2 caster. http://www.youtube.com/user/TotalBiscuit
  12. Classless society is unfortunately essentially impossible at least in any permanent state. There will always be those with more power, money, resources and influence than others and they will find ways to create an oligarchy. In the case of TES, a democratic government (the one most favoring the bourgeoisie) just isn't going to happen so we're stuck with trying to get the most benevolent form of oligarchy we can. I am convinced that the Empire is this oligarchy because based on it's history the Empire has generally been a decent system despite it's many flaws. For centuries the majority of Tamriel was content under Imperial rule. The two new factions are very polarized and despite the extreme hate between them are nearly identical in many ways. Both favor a single demographic (Altmer/Nords), both are highly intolerant of opposing viewpoints and both are led by power hungry dictatorial systems. This is why I consider the Empire to be the lesser of the three evils.
  13. I did not know this. I thought Ulfric was always tagged essential except at the end of the Legion questline?
  14. That is an incredibly naive and idealistic view but not a realistic one.
