  1. I just read somewhere that it may be caused by the mod "SIMPLER Knock," which i did install recently before this started happening. Haven't tested it because I gave Skyrim a break after finding no solution to this.
  2. I think I'm having the same problem. I started playing through the Carved Brink mod/dlc, and at some point randomly checked the quest log to find only 2 Carved Brink quests (no completed quests or anything else). I checked the quest journal again a bit later and found only the text "No active quests." This play-through has been going on for quite some time, and I've definitely finished the majority of the vanilla quests, mod quests, dlc mod quests, etc. So if there is some limit to the amount of information the quest journal can hold, that would make sense. A fix would be nice though, can't find any via web searches.
  3. I couldn't help you with something I can't pinpoint via experience. There's too many ways for the game to CTD - it took me months and months to find the causes of various problems for my own game. I've had so many problems on the road to a stable Skyrim, I can't even begin to think of all the ways the game used to crash/freeze, endless load, etc. But I do know blackface for me has been caused by the ordering of mods like Bijinn, Diversity Overhaul, Better Females, War Tats, RS Children, Immersive Wenches. I can say that your endless load is not because of the ordering of those particular mods, but something else. If you're new to modding, I'd recommend follow a guide and sort of inserting/replacing mods in the section of the guide to your liking. That's basically what I did. You'll have to be very careful about compatibility with the mods you decide to add/replace. One of the guides I followed was: http://www.predcaliber.com/skyrimsetut https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqD0_psVyuyhgd-nr_qdX7N5NQZPPSGkO Following a guide also helps, because it includes things you might forget or are not even aware of, like SKSE engines fixes, or cleaning master files, and whatever else.
  4. Ahh, also you need to actually add the generated animation files to your mod list if you're using Mod Organizer (right click 'overwrite' at the the bottom --> create mod). FNIS is pretty easy to use, but it's hard to help because there's a bit of missing information here.
  5. Okay, normally it has to do with ordering of npc overhaul mods. You use some of the same ones I do but not all of them. I use Mod Organizer2 and not Vortex, so I'm not sure exactly how to explain everything. I don't know all npc mods in existence, but I do see Bijinn, Immersive Wenches, and WICO. The order of those particular mods should probably look something like this (Ignore the ones that don't apply): https://imgur.com/a/yZ9NS Both the mod order and plugin/esp order should be the same also. After that, any specific npc/follower mods like the one you have for Serana, should go below those. Sometimes you'll see a problem with those specific npc mods in-game, like maybe they're wearing the wrong outfit. Usually all you have to do to fix those specific npcs is: go in first person open console click on npc type: disable hit enter type: enable hit enter NPC should reappear corrected. I have had exactly 1 CTD after doing this though (during Forgotten City Quest mod), so I just reloaded my game and left that one npc alone, otherwise it has worked.
  6. Sounds like you are talking about what is called "black-face bug." For me this has always been a mod/load order problem, that is easily fixed. Probably need to post your mod/load order for anyone to help you. A screenshot of the problem would also help verify that this is in fact the problem you are having.
  7. Try running Skyrim Launcher and turning off "Snow Shader" in the advanced tab. It looks kind of like the black snow problem I was having, but I can't really tell from the screenshots (it doesn't look exactly like mine).
  8. Go to 0:57 of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrzwLPU3lJE
  9. I've had this before - many times even. There are many mods that hide the crosshair. You need to go in-game and check the MCM menu for mods that have the option to hide the crosshair. For me that would be: 3PCO (3rd Person Camera Overhaul) SkyUI SkyHUD iHUD And maybe some other weird one I'm forgetting. My list may even be inaccurate, but every time my crosshair has been hidden, it has always been because of another mod I've installed hiding it in the MCM menu.
  10. When you run FNIS you should have both "GENDER Specific Animations" and "SKELETON Arm Fix" checked. Also, I don't think you need the XXL version of FNIS, but I don't suppose that matters.
  11. I just installed 'SkyrimSouls - Unpaused Game Menus' and immediately found it to be one of the coolest mods I'd ever seen. The problem is it doesn't seem to work with Immersive HUD: The health/stamina/magicka bars never unhide properly when said resources are used. If anyone has found a workaround to make these both work together, please let me know. SkyrimSouls is so cool, I'm almost willing to play not knowing what my HP total is at. Links to both mods: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/15170 - SkyrimSouls https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12440 - Immersive HUD
  12. Uhh, no. It's actually the exact same thing as installing mods manually into the Skyrim data folder. It does tell you if mods are overwriting each other - you may need to reread what I said.
  13. With mod organizer it doesn't tell you if you are overwriting files from another mod during installation. It does however tell you after the fact via (-) or (+) symbols. Better Vampires doesn't show any conflict between any mods, only XPMSSE. I could try removing the vampire tintmasks from Total Character Makeover? Would anyone have an idea which folder those would be stored in? I could probably just guess, but it would be nice to be sure. -- Update I believe i found them in the actors>character>female folder called "femaleheadvampire.dds" and "femaleheadvampire_msn.dds." Removing them did nothing. My guess is that I have so many mods that add tintmasks that if I remove one, then the next one in line just takes its place. Would probably take forever to find and remove all of them. Thanks for the help and quick replies regardless  .
  14. I'm actually just a filthy Imperial. No pride no shame . I also have other 'Total Character Mackeover', if that has any tintmasks. I assumed Fair Skin would overwrite anything to do with skin since I have it at highest priority though. This is what it looks like in my game. Only appears at certain angles when rotating camera:
  15. I decided it doesn't make much sense for npc's to ignore my slightly crispy/smokey character anyway. I really do like the effect though, seeing how it looks pretty realistic. But I guess I'm tired of mod troubleshooting for hours when I could instead be playing. Anyway, thanks for the reply. I didn't see an option for makeup tintmasks in the fomod for ECE and gave up. I thought for sure that it must be Fair Skin Complexion, and removed all the tintmasks from the 'character assets' folder, but nothing. I don't really consider disabling an enjoyed feature from a mod that you love to be the best solution, but I suppose it still is a solution. Thanks again for taking the time to look through that list of esp's and try to find a solution... Though now that I think about it, perhaps I should have posted the actual modlist instead of only plugins.txt...
