Sorry to rez a dead thread, but you mentioned how to do the "former" but how in the heck do you do the later? Assuming i don't want the mod itself to visually affect the weapon, just stats.

prolly too late now, but thats because her default gear goes on top of other clothes. if you remove her default tactical gear, giving her clothes will work properly.

I am currently playing on the latest ver of oblivion, and i am experiencing this same glitch. I do NOT have any mods installed, as i wanted to play through it for old time's sake without mods. I would appreciate it if someone could find a fix for this.
