And Vortex is being helped developed by Tannin who made MO; so maybe give it a chance first and see where it's going before ruling it out just yet, even with it's current problems.

Just touching this from a moral standpoint, I think MxR, and other such indivdiuals and groups, should use the community as a guideline for what they should do. While a modder's ToS is of a grey area at best, there are general agreements and guidelines that MxR should know and follow. Imo, I don't think he really follows the modding community, and it's issues, beyond what is necessary for his channel. I already don't entirely agree with MxR monetization mods in general, but that's besides the issues here. The problem is that as a big name in the "mainstream" community, he has a lot more power and fans that follow him tooth and nail, regardless of actions; and this is especially true in cases that a little more grey.

The cloud mod profiles backup seems the most (if not only) interesting feature for me and seems to be one of the big things that MO is missing. If only it was able to do it before updating. I usually make backups every so often but tens GB isn't something do that often.

Agree with you there Sertith; there's a reason why you can block certain mod categories on here so I really see no problems. I think most people assume that there are a lot more females on here because many modders are female; probably a poll on just that would report more expected numbers, I assume. Even so though, when you look at the pool of mods, most of them are obviously designed towards the male audience. Seems to me though that a good amount of modders are coming from other modded games, such as the Sims and that has increased the aforementioned notions. Even so, the results are likely skewed. Nothing against the posted content, but I rarely look at the News site and only occasionally click on it if it has a title of interest (as you can guess, I didn't vote in the survey :P). I think they should have reported the amount of registered members to get a better idea of that.

It is quite ironic that the ones doing the actually work are the least compensated; also ironic is that it's not that foreign of a concept. I wonder what the community's overall stance is. Do they just want mods that are completely free, with or without ads, being completely monetized (by payment) by the makers (or the companies, even though it's obviously not the case), or being partially monetized through payment? This is mostly speculation, but it seems though that most would be fine with the ad model. This model is most successful with streaming/video content. I believe that some mentioned that Curse follows this model to some degree. I already have a negative stance on video content that simply showcases a mod or video game (or anything similar). To me, it would make much more sense to support a modder directly, but it's usually not the case, but this is most likely true because others use ad monetization (and I don't see how this couldn't be applied for modders seeing how YouTubers and such are able to get away with it) and usually gain popularity since they are "entertainers", in a sense. I think that the community has gathered the way it is based on the fact that mods were originally free, just like how video content providers and streamers developed a community based around ads; and this is why it's difficult to propose such a method as direct paid monetization. I'm wondering if this community, and others, have different views in terms of the stances listed above.

Think this just an error inherent in the version. I occasionally have it too, my character sometimes draws no weapons to fight and stuff like that. I don't know if anyone is still working on it but others have noted the same issue using it so it's likely that it's a bug.
