  1. Update: Crashes are back. Textures will also blank out or turn purple periodically, which I've noticed would herald an impending crash. Giving ENBoost another go. Edit: Here's my current load order: Bashed Patch.esp is empty, as nothing is allowed to be merged into one by Wrye Bash. Edit 2: Went ahead and installed Realvision ENB. Game successfully starts and I'm able to load my save. Apart from occasional stutters (doubt I can do anything much more about it), it seems to run fairly well. Here is my ENBlocal.ini: Setting the "EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks" parameter to true may have solved my crashing issues. Stuttering is also much reduced, with only the usual hard drive stutter when loading new cells or switching equipment.
  2. I followed the STEP guide on ENB to the letter. Still got crashes on startup. Removing it solved those crashes.
  3. Spent about a half hour or so running (or flying) around Skyrim with the aforementioned console commands going, in order to try to break the save and the game as much as I could. Of course with a fresh save taken beforehand. Even after repeatedly entering and exiting buildings with broken textures throughout, I couldn't get the game to crash. Wolves, weapons, guard armor sets, and trees were broken though... so I undoubtedly put a lot of stress on the game. Still couldn't trigger a crash though. Memoryblocks log went up to 265 134.
  4. I removed everything that had to do with ENB from my Skyrim folder.
  5. Update. I wouldn't exactly call this a solution, as it didn't result in an ideal outcome like I hoped for. But a compromise is better than going nowhere. Removed all traces of RCRN and ENB, then installed CoT and ELFX in their place. Game seems to work fine now. Too bad I won't ever be able to use any ENBs, but oh well. Pretty graphics aren't worth the mountain of configuration and troubleshooting that's required, especially since I've NEVER had any luck with getting ENB to play nicely with Skyrim on my PC. Did a test by turning on God Mode, turning off collision, setting my speedmult to 4000 and running around Skyrim to try to bait a crash. Apart from the (expected) hangs as my HDD tries to catch up, the game did NOT crash. Memory Blocks log below, from my little torture test. Edit: Nevermind. Crashed while exiting an inn. I give up.
  6. 22 GB. Edit: Went ahead and used TES5Edit to clean up the DLC and Update ESMs. Skyrim.esm was not touched. Wrye Bash reported that there are no plugins able to be merged into a bashed patch. Edit 2: Installed ENBoost. Game now immediately crashes as soon as the main menu loads on startup. I have no overlays open. Edit 3: Removed ENBoost and moved the d3d9.dll file from RCRN out of the Skyrim folder, and now Skyrim launches properly. I move the dll file back into the folder and now Skyrim crashes on startup.
  7. I have the game on my HDD because of the tiny SSD. Back in 2011, SSDs were expensive and I had to make compromises. Later on this year is when I plan my full rig rebuild, so I'll get a 1 TB SSD. Also wanted to add that my RAM has no errors and my HDD is not very fragmented, as I run Defraggler on it once every 10 days. I'm not using any of the mods listed on the "Dangerous Mods" list, and I have the latest version of USLEEP. Also wanted to point out that I had freshly installed Skyrim just prior to setting up these mods. I've tried using Wyre Bash and TES5Edit before, but many issues came about from using them. However, personally I feel that was caused by my lack of knowledge of how to use either of those tools, and I'm still fairly hesitant to use them. Lastly, I've mentioned prior that I've tried ENBs before, and even now they cause my game to become unplayable (massive stuttering, crashing, single digit framerates). The stuttering and crashing persist with ENBoost, and I have no idea why. I've tried everything I could find, such as disabling every overlay I can think of, reinstalling my graphics drivers, etc. The biggest problem is that I really don't have the time to spare with going over all this material on how to properly mod Skyrim. I barely have enough time to spare to actually play the game itself. :S At least I remember why I quit playing my modded playthrough of Skyrim back in mid 2014, and hadn't touched it since.
  8. Elaborate on how I should get this mod list you're looking for? I've been out of the loop since 2014. Anyway, the only texture mods I have installed are the Skyrim HD 2K pack, 2K trees, Skyrim Flora Overhaul (has textures IIRC), and 4K textures for an armor mod (Sotteta Necromancer outfit). I tried ENBoost. Got the same problems as I had when I had an actual ENB. Of course I'm using the SKSE memory patch. SKSE.ini settings: [General]ClearInvalidRegistrations=1[Display]iTintTextureResolution=2048[Memory]defaultHeapInitialAllocMB=1024scrapHeapSizeMB=256 Elaborate on the crash fixes? Again, been out of the loop.
  9. As the title says, I'm having major issues with instability, stuttering, and heavy memory usage. I'd load into my brand new level 1 save, and after playing for about 15-20 minutes I'd get a random crash. I tried reproducing it, but it is actually random. Until the game crashes it randomly hangs for about a second while wandering around outside of cities. I'm not running any ENB, as the game becomes unplayable (enormous stuttering and single digit framerates) with any ENB installed. I'm also using Mod Organizer, and it reports no issues. 10. I've gone through all of that, the ini file is in the correct location and is set up properly. I use LOOT just about every time I install new mods, then tweak the load order if LOOT messes up (which it does a lot).
  11. I would prefer to continue using ENB for its visual benefit though. From my understanding, you can't really use the actual ENBoost feature itself without disabling the visual aspect of the ENB. Also these problems were present even before I had installed the ENB and graphics mods.
  12. As the title says, I'm plagued by constant infinite loading screens and lockups in-game. The game will lock up for at least a full minute when I choose to wait or sleep. These problems get worse as time goes on, at least until I restart the game. My savegame is relatively new and has been cleaned of old scripts once. I'm currently using the latest version of SKSE, with the memory patch enabled. I'm using the Vividian ENB, NLA weather, 2K textures, Project Parallax, and SFO. 13. Bethesda has confirmed that ESO won't affect their own development. ESO was made by a completely separate team.
  14. I personally had a ton of fun as a conjuration/illusion "sniper" assassin. Longbows are so delicious in SkyRE  Too bad I can't get the scoped bow pack to work, as I don't have Hearthfire, and the other versions aren't patched by Reproccer.
  15. It may not work, as the DLC plugins themselves may link to a unique exe. Not to mention that it's against the steam subscriber agreement. Never worth risking your account over some DLC. Just buy it.
  16. @OP: vmhost.exe is adware. Get it dealt with or it'll just remain a major annoyance.
  17. One thing I have noticed is that after Alduin initially lands on that first tower, he glances toward you before he Fus Ro Dah's the soldiers to death.
  18. If the Tamriel of Arena was added to TES 6, lotion companies would boast more earnings than the entire G8 in terms of economic performance
  19. I honestly have to agree. Today I was helping a friend mod his copy of Skyrim and he used LOOT to sort everything. This was the result: http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/45351519723340862/E8EE35D7832A3CA9F6B3FEBD65CC92039BB2A1D2/ Edit: and no that was not caused by a graphics card problem
  20. I agree. It's time for Bethesda to ditch the Gamebryo engine. I'm not entirely sure why certain devs have a love affair with it (looking at you, Trion Worlds :P). It's an ancient engine. An ancient and still unstable engine. Would be crazy if Bethesda licensed Cryengine 2 for TES6. One can only fantasize about such things.
  21. I personally recommend Requiem/SkyRE and Frostfall. Frostfall on its hardcore preset disables fast travel, and Requiem should disable health regeneration. Makes the game very challenging too, more so than SkyDie. If you don't want complete overhauls like the above, SPERG is a good choice.
  22. TES6 will be out when it's done. And please no co-op.
  23. Very interesting. When I can find a way to help keep my laptop from heating up like an oven while running an ENB, I'll definitely have to try that. Read the post above yours.
  24. There should be no reason for SkyUI to cause that much lag, unless your computer is ancient or just weak in performance. It does use some script runtime, but not nearly as much as other major mods.
  25. I doubt your card is the problem here. A GTX 780 should be able to manhandle any ENB in existence. Try a driver update. Edit: Also check to see if you have supersampling AA enabled in NV Control Panel. That can kill performance unless you have SLI configs or a Titan :D
