Game Crashing While Saving
Weeping replied to Weeping's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
That's the weird part! The only mod I've installed since starting my playthrough (over 60 hours ago) was the new Witcher 2 armor mod, and even that was installed probably 40 hours of gameplay ago. It's so bizarre. I've never known something to directly attack creating save files. That's like the worst. I'm curious to see what happens if I get to an area where it autosaves and whether or not that also crashes the game. I'll try messing around with some mods, too. -
Game Crashing While Saving
Weeping replied to Weeping's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
Whoops, sorry. It was way late when I typed that up. Install Type: Origin Version: Ultimate Patch Level: 1.05 Mods: ...a lot. But I just don't know which mods would cause something like this, seeing as how it took 65 hours for this to start happening. I'll find a list of what I have active and type it up, maybe it'll enlighten me. Also: I just used the map to get to camp, thinking it was just Denerim that was causing this issue (and to an extent, maybe Improved Atmosphere which causes issues in Denerim sometimes) but no, it still crashed while it was saving. This is so weird and unhealthy for my file. I have only one save left and if that somehow gets erased, I will be so bummed it's not even funny. -
God, I feel kinda bad that I now have three topics on this page, but here's my latest issue. At least for today, my game has been crashing every other time I go to save the game. This is frustrating because not only does it negate the save, but it's also been wiping out my quick-saves as well. This is really strange, as I've never experienced this before. I'm not sure what could cause this, but I think I'm just going to give it a rest for tonight and see if any of you guys could pinpoint what's up. For the record, it is in Denerim, aka the least friendly place on the planet. I'm not sure if it'll work outside of Denerim, but at this point that'd be worthless since I'm in the process of the Landsmeet chain. Blech!

Escaping Fort Draken - stuck in combat mode
Weeping replied to Weeping's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
@theskymoves Ah, thanks! Exiting the game and coming back in did the trick, but at least now I know how to fix it without bailing. @Thandal Yeah dude, Alistair will bro out with you if he's in the party. And funnily enough, if he's hardened, he actually suggest just killing Cauthrien and going home anyway. What a guy. -
As the title says, I'm in the section where I'm escaping Fort Drakon after having been arrested. The problem is that after this first encounter, my character never leaves combat mode, which makes certain doors unable to be interacted with. It also keeps my party (Alistair) from following me, even when he's definitely on move freely. This kinda blows, I've reloaded the save multiple times and I get nothing. I'm hoping that exiting the program did something, but I'm unsure. Also, bonus bug!: When I reloaded my save after the first time, Alistair is no longer with me at all. I start out in the cell all by myself. That kind of sucks too. Any ideas?

Denerim Market Crashin' My Game
Weeping replied to Weeping's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
Blech! I uninstalled AI to fix it, but as patdc said, now numerous NPCs are walking around completely naked. Reinstalling AI has had no effect on fixing the issue. Anything I can do to clothe these fools? This is the sorta thing that puts a damper on a playthrough :/ -
Hey hey guys. So I've just gotten to Denerim for the first time on my new character and began to do all the little fun things like stop by the Chantry, chatting up Gorim, etc. It seems however that the market causes my game to crash the longer I'm exposed to it. Or rather, the area right in front of the blacksmith and Goldanna's, stretching just up to the Orlesian saleswoman. It's a small enough area, but unfortunately pretty crucial to the game! I've gotten through talking to Kylon and Goldanna, but even when it didn't crash immediately, sprinting away as fast as possible was fruitless as I guess the crashing was already set into motion. I do have a bunch of mods active, but the only thing that might alter this area is Improved Atmosphere, I think, and it's never done this before. So I'm just curious if there's any suggestions for something else that could be happening? I'll keep trying to skirt around as fast as possible, but eventually I'ma NEED to get my armor from Wade and Herron.

Dragon Age support for NMM, DA2 support incoming, site splits and top
Weeping replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
Holy smokes that was quick. It seems to have fixed most of them but some mods still have the same problem. I think there must be a work around on my end, so I wouldn't stress. Good job guys! -
Dragon Age support for NMM, DA2 support incoming, site splits and top
Weeping replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
I've been putting DA:O's NMM through the ringer and I'm unsure of some stuff. I thought I would be wonderfully lazy and be able to download all face/hair mods through NMM, but it doesn't seem to like that idea much. It just keeps giving me a message saying that a file path with that name already exists (though I'm starting brand new.) Will play around with it some more. EDIT: Hmmm, doesn't seem to be just visual mods either. Some armor mods aren't making the installation. I'm confused. -
Hey there guys, so I've come back to Skyrim and decided to start a new character and catch up on mods. All that stuff's good to go. The problem is when my character gets out of the carriage, the screen just bobs up and down and nothing happens. I found an old save file that was halfway through the Helgen Keep and when I loaded that up, it did the same. I originally thought it was probably a mod conflict, but I disabled all plugins and uninstalled anything that wasn't a texture replacer, and my character still did it when starting a new game. Just curious if anyone knows what's up. Thanks!

I won't lie, I'm sort of glad it's not just glaring stupidity on my part! :p Still, I'm going to keep at it. Tamlen looks perfect now (presumably because of that Zevran texture) but Howe is still silver and Gorim still has a muddy brown face as opposed to his normal tone. I'll try shooting the mod authors a question or two and see what they say. Thanks so much for your help though!

For this particular morph, this is what the required mods are: DrDJs Bandit Emporium - Character Creator Scars by DR-DJ uploaded by Boonside: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1341 Dracomies True Textures VI included in Dragon Age Redesigned version 7.3a by Dracomies: http://social.bioware.com/project/1205/ Tears of Sorrow file from Dragon Age Redesigned by Dracomies: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=686 tucked hair by tmp7704: http://social.bioware.com/project/2595/ Hair Tints from Devs Companion and NPC headmorphs by Dev: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1692 Pineappletree's Vibrant Colors Pineappletree: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=153 I've downloaded all of these and made sure to fish out the "tears of sorrow" file from the DAR tool set folder. But if it make any sense, I think the details on the face are a bit clearer now that I've installed that particular Zevran morph. Still shiny as could be though!

This is awesome information! So I've opened up the morph in the DAToolset and "TEXTUREPARAM" window unfolds into five different sections. Unfortunately, from there I'm pretty much useless. I don't really know how to "understand" the information that I'm given, only that I seem to be lacking all components (I assume they come as one piece anyway? I couldn't find them on my computer at all.) I'll put down when I see here in hopes that you can give me further insight... How can I tell what mod this is from? MORPH_TEXTUREPARAM 0 NAME: mml_tDiffuse MORPH_TEXTURE_NAME: uh_hed_masaeyebrow_0d 1 NAME: mml_tNormalMap MORPH_TEXTURE_NAME: uh_hed_masaeyebrow_0n 2 NAME: mml_tAgeNormalMap MORPH_TEXTURE_NAME: uh_hed_mgea_0n 3 NAME: mml_tAgeDiffuseMap MORPH_TEXTURE_NAME: uh_hed_mgea_0d 4 NAME: mml_tTattooMask MORPH_TEXTURE_NAME: uh_tat_clbeard_0t Er...I guess. Sorry for such a primitive display, hopefully you can understand it better than I. I'm just not sure how to decipher where this is supposed to draw from.

Hey there guys. So I've been toying around with the intent of really making this DA:O playthrough something special. So using wonderful mods like Fereldan Models and Morphs and More, I've picked out some great looking guys to plug in as various NPCs. Which brings me to my first question - Am I supposed/allowed to do this? I'm not trying to use the morphs for my character, but for NPCs like Howe or Loghain. Is this okay or am I breaking reality? Assuming that's all well and good, I've managed to transfer some of the morphs into the game. I've redone Howe, Tamlen and Gorim so far (people visible instantly so I can see what's working) and they all seem to have the morph, but their faces are all wrong. Howe's is shiny, Tamlen's is a dull gray and Gorim's is dark brown (with fluorescent white hair, mind you.) I've combed through the required files over and over and sincerely don't know what I'm missing. And as if it helps, I've noticed that some other morphs from other mods have shiny/washed out skin as well. So I'm convinced somewhere along the road I missed a skin texture or something of that nature, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is. Do you guys know of any skin textures/mods that spring to mind with this problem? My last line of defense right now is to re-download all of the visual mods I've used, quarantine them into a single folder and try to compile the .xml files to perfection, though I have already used the compiler mod, I think it may have skipped over some files. It's worth mentioning as well that none of the stuff has actually shown up IN the character creator, which I find very odd (for instance, no custom hairs available.) I think this is a sign that they're not installed correctly, but I don't know what was different between this time and the last time I did this. Siiiiiiiiiiigh Sorry to bother y'all with a "beat your head against the wall" question, I'm just at a loss! EDIT: Marjolaine's skin has shown up correctly now, and Gorim's hair is fine. Gorim actually is perfect if only the color of his face would match the color around his hair. Howe still has a shiny silver face (with the appropriate skin color around his hair) and Tamlen remains unchanged as well. I did manage to get everything to show up in the CC as well...so something went right, but I don't really know what
