  1. Hello i'm attempting to port some texture mods from ds1 to dsr (namely Andres Cranial Ember mod) and wanted to know when converting from png to dds which compression type should be used with which texture? e.g diffuse>dxt1, normal>dxt5, spec>dxt1

  2. The knight armor (not elite knight) waist pouches mesh on the back left side is partially weighted to the chest and It needs to be weighted to the waist. it's a very minor graphical issue but would be nice to nip this one, if anyone could fix this you would be amazing.

Edit : updated request after further look, the pouch is following the chest.

  3. Hello,

I'm in the process of making a Fallout 3 mod and had a question I wanted to ask. The mod I'm working on is an unique items replacer mod and I am using external content from other mod authors who have given permission however I haven't been able to get permission from one author. I really like his work and wanted to include some of it in an updated design and modern implementation but Nexus rules are no permission, no use, no exceptions and unfortunately he's not been active for the last 6 years and without his permission I can't use his original files if I want to publish my mod so I was wondering would I be able to recreate his work from scratch to use ? That way I could include at the very least a knock off version of his work and hopefully not break nexus rules otherwise I'll omit his content from my mod.

PS. I have included an example of his original and my version.

  4. Short Answer:

Tutor may help but you don't really need one , just dedication and patients.

Here is a tutorial I picked off Youtube :

but you can find thousands of tutorial across the internet. Just search blender tutorial on a search engine like google or youtube.

    Long Answer:

Welcome to the wonderful world of being a developer.

if you want to start games development or modding the basics you need are:

Basic drawing skills > if you have an idea draw it out don't worry about your drawing skill if you don't think your drawing are good then practice it takes time son don't worry about it

Modeling software > learning blender is a good option as it is open source but also be sure to pick up sculptris is another good on.

texturing software > you use this to paint the texture of the asset you have made this can be done in blender but a good open source painting software is Gimp

game engine > which ever game you want to put stuff in you need the engine and know how to use it

These are just the basic but is should give you some direction on where you want to go but anything you don't know google it if that doesn't work ask on a forum alternatively there are books dedicated to teaching these sorts of software .

    Hope this helps

    ps. good luck

    pps. have fun

ppps. ...I'm done sorry thought I could think of something else
