  1. Hope you saw my updates and were able to fix the problem :)
  2. Watched the video and that's not the problem. The frozen npcs are similar, but in our case not only does no one have animations, the player can't move around at all - not even look left or right! Also reinstalled FNIS, cleaned out the overwrite directory, and reran GenerateFNISForUsers.exe enough times that I''m pretty much certain the problem isn't animation related. Based on my recent downloads, here are the mods I updated/installed right before the problem started: (edit) Alphabetized: I've tested some of the more 'suspicious' mods like Immersive FP and Face to Face, but I haven't had time to test all of them, and some of them (like AOS) have way too many dependencies for me to conveniently remove them. Let me know if you've also messed around with any of these mods recently. We will get to the bottom of this! EDIT: Just tested with all of these mods uninstalled (I love you Mod Organizer) except FNIS and Maids, and the problem was FIXED. So it's one of the mods on the list. Expect an update shortly. EDIT2: It WAS Immersive FP. Somehow I thought I tested that, but I guess not. Anyway, that's the culprit, I'll try and see if it can be fixed by tweaking the settings.
  3. UPDATE 2014-07-01: This issue is caused by the current version of Immersive First Person, likely an incompatibility with another mod I'm using. The mod author, meh321, appears to be aware of this issue and is working to fix it (thank you!). If you're experiencing this problem, I suggest either uninstalling the mod for now, downgrading to an older version, or trying out the 1.9 beta, which attempts to fix the bug. It works for me, but keep in mind it's a beta so you may experience other issues. Hey all, When I loaded up Skyrim today I encountered a strange bug. My character can look up or down but not left or right, and he can't move. When I switch to third person, the camera is stuck at the closest zoom level, and my character and follower both appear frozen - for example, I had had a torch out when I saved, and if I switch to a shield the model switches out but my character continues to hold the shield out as if it were a torch. No one appears to be breathing. Even weirder, if I try to draw my weapon, no animation plays but the sound goes NUTS, apparently playing the first 0.01s of the 'draw' effect on loop or something, probably stacked on top of each other since it was loud and sudden. Needless to say, I jumped and it hurt my ears. I've tested with multiple saves, all have the same issue, so it's a mod problem, which makes sense since I updated some 10 or so mods before starting the game today. My gut tells me it's an animation problem, due to the frozen characters and such. FNIS and FNIS Sexy Move were among the mods I updated, but I of course ran GenerateFNISForUsers after doing so, so there's no reason that should have caused a problem. I'm running a heavily modded game, so I know issues are to be expected, just wondering if anyone knows what mod is likely causing this. LOOT Log (ignore the SOS and ClimatesOfTamriel related errors, the corresponding plugins are deactivated but LOOT sorts them anyway): Any help is much appreciated!
  4. So when I got home today I switched my audio output from my G930 headset to the monitor speakers to play with a friend. Instead, I was greeted with a crash on load, and after doing some research I've found that this is not an uncommon issue. Given that I've made no mod changes since last night (when the game played fine) I'm 99% sure this is the problem. Unfortunately, switching back to headphones has not solved the problem. Most posts online have suggested changing to 44.1KHz/24 bit sound, but I don't see it in the audio device menu -- everything is 16 bit with different frequencies. Stranger still, I'm pretty sure the headphones were doing 24 bit before - they certainly should be capable of it, as my system is pretty new and I have a 24 bit sound card (although the headphones go through USB). Anyone know a fix for this? New games run fine - I just can't load saves.
  5. I find that when I approach a wall with a custom texture it will flicker between bright and dark as I move. This seems to happen more indoors, but I've experienced it outside as well. It does not seem to be an issue with a single texture mod, as I've experienced it with textures from different mods. I'm using RealVision ENB (option C) and ELFX for lighting, but it seems to also happen with RLO/option A. Anyone know the cause of this issue? When I search all I find is Z-fighting posts, which is a completely different issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated  BOSS log: Mod List (reverse order, "-" = inactive): Screenshots of issue (imgur album)
  6. Well, after reaching my wit's end as to which mods to get rid of, I returned to searching online. Turns out I was, of course, following the instructions wrong, and the fix posted in several other threads indeed works. Here are the detailed instructions if it saves people the time: Anyway, thanks all for your help, glad to have my game working again
  7. Yeah, I actually have the SOS ones installed, for some reason BOSS keeps giving the warnings. Still, incompatible patches would cause CTDs immediately on load, not during saving, unless I'm mistaken?
  8. Hi all, recently my Skyrim has been crashing instantly when saving (usually on an autosave event). This does not happen every time I try to save - it seems that if i save within the first couple minutes of playing then I won't crash. But after that if I save the game instantly closes to desktop. If I look in my save folder I see a .tmp file e.g. quicksave.ess.tmp. I know this issue has been experienced before, but it seems that for other people the problem is consistent, whereas for me it is more random. I've tried the fixes people have suggested like renewing an old save, dying, going to new save and dying again. No luck. My game is heavily modded (200+), so I realize it's not surprising that issues arise, but if anyone knows of a suspect mod or a fix for this then I'd appreciate any help :) Also using the memory patch so that shouldn't be the problem. BOSS Log: System:
  9. Accidental double post, deleted
  10. Update: After playing for ~2 hours with a new ini (i re-added a few tweaks) and experiencing only one crash - which was in a city so different issue - I'm convinced the problem is fixed. Not only is the game stable now, but I realize that the custom ini was messing up my ENB lighting, as the game looks WAY better now. Again, thank you so much!
  11. I've tried deactivating some of the cloaks plugins (even uninstalling the mods altogether) with no effect on the crashes. Although the values for fMeshLODLevel2FadeTreeDistance and fMeshLODLevel1FadeTreeDistance are indeed increased, the other ones are in fact (I believe, based on looking at backups) the defaults for ultra settings. Either way, I just tried with new inis to no avail. I had been too afraid to clean any plugins aside from the vanilla masters, but I'll try that out and see if that helps. Anyway, thanks for all the help, really appreciate it  EDIT: Just did a full reset on my inis, and the problem may be fixed (only playtested for ~5 min, so still have to confirm). I had been testing from a couple backups I made a while ago, but I might have made changes before then. If it really is fixed, I can't thank you enough.
  12. Not to ask the obvious, but are you running skyrim from the 'skse_loader.exe' launcher?
  13. This. I'm pretty sure it fixes the crash even if you don't have RaceMenu installed, just needs SKSE. It prevents your computer from going into a panic trying to load all the body/hair textures at once when you open the menu, instead loading them as you navigate.
  14. This problem almost always results from a bad load order. You can download BOSS here. It's basically magic, automatically sorting your load order and telling you about any conflicts (which is almost certainly your problem - one patch for a mod you don't have and you'll get that exact crash). Alternatively, download Mod Organizer and import your NMM list. Then it should flag any troublesome esp plugin with a red exclamation point. Screenshot If you've already fixed the problem, do yourself a favor and download Mod Organizer and/or Wrye Bash anyway. They really work miracles when it comes to fixing mods.
  15. I assume the Papyrus log is useless (as usual)? If not, test out how reliably it crashes. Does it always crash in the same exact area, or are you able to make it in sometimes? If it happens 100% of the time in the same place it's almost certainly a world problem, so try deactivating any mods that might place/remove items anywhere near there. If that fails, I'd do a binary search, but this is really only a viable option of you're using Mod Organizer, since you can backup your modlist and quickly uncheck half your mods etc.
