  1. all i have to say is this: i have been using mods since the days of "killer kips" and "mental omega": i have found mods to be entertaining and the few people who made them that didn't let corruption fall in their wake and continued to trust in the users that used them are to me like heroes of modern times. i have always been anti steam and anti workshop: to my old world sensibilities: having to "lease" a game from some big corps servers or having to be a part of a specific service to use mods to me seems like a good way to blow people off this wonderful practice.....do i agree with the taking down of payed mods or even the concept of paid mods? NO! not at all! to me: modders are just as car manfucators, cloths sowers, blacksmiths, construction workers and IT'S: there is not difference between the work of a modder and the work of an INTEL chip designer: modders are people who need bread and butter on the table too,and giving a PORTION of them a few extra cash to do so is not at all discirminatory to the users,in fact,it is quite discriminatory to the modders: people who bleed hours if not months or years of their time to making sure every nook and cranny of their product is in tip top condition, working far longer after the release: there are very few game publishers or DLC designers out there that do so themselves, not even bethesda itself does this......they should be paid for what they do. my only problem was that this new system in the workshop was causing seperation and divide between the modding community: if we all turned into "the engineering guild" and secluded ourselves and our mods aside from the creme de la creme of our users,if we had to have a faulty inconsidered system of pay for both modders and users alike, and if we had to eliminate all other modding sites in the process then yes:i was against it: because the beauty of mods is that communities rise from them: it's that when you go to "the nexus' or "ModDB" or any other site: you get the same love as in all other sites: if all modders would migrate to one site it would be chatestrophic to the modding community: a community that prides itself on the fact it has so many places were it stands out, that it has a human identity. so,short side of it is: i'm am not against the modding community getting its cash, and i'm not against the steam workshop taking down this idea: i'm for the day modders get a nice paypal cash foward for all of their hard work as all workers need to be compinsated: but the way steam would have it is too destructive for the community at large
  2. so,heres the thing: i have always wanted to play skyrim\oblivion\any TES game with multiple companions and, with luck, there are many mods that extended that "1 companion at at time" restriction that skyrim has. but what i really wanted out of my skyrim companion experience is the sort of D&D style of party: a Theif thats good at picking locks, stealthly taking out hostiles, thievery(stealing things) and talking his way out of situations,a Mage that is good at all variations of magic: destruction, alteration, illusion,(a little bit of restoration),conjuration and some knowledge in shouting as well as teaching magic and using staffs,a Healer(kind of like "SMART healer" but it doesn't have to be that complex) that can heal other party members, craft and teach how to make potions and poisons and is knowledgable in restoration,a Barbarian that is good in close courter toe to toe combat, knows alot about heavy and light weapons as well as fist fighting,a Marksmen that specializes in long distances weaponry like bows and crossbows (and again, can teach the player how to do it) and finally, a pet: a dog,a wolf or even a small dragon(and yes,i do know you can scale a dragon down in modding,so it could work....poorly). the thing is: i want to assemble my own skyrim dream team: a guy for every need on my advetures and that can actually be useful: it doesn't have to be a mod you made from scratch with alot of effort,it could be made using a third party program like NPC Editor and they don't have to dazzle me with amazing stories and super awesome abilities: i need guys\gals + pet NPC's that have the in game abilities i mentioned(which with even the basic command systems of skyrim, the tutor system and the basic follower package,it could be done to a fairly good extent),they don't have to have specialized voice acting and could use the same reptitive voices that are pre packaged with skyrim and i would love it if they could be follow these criteria: 1)a bunch of companions(as i mentioned above:Theif,Mage,Healer,Marksmen,Barbarian And Pet,with the skills i mentioned above) 2)prefebly with no "life story" or "driven narrative" (as much as i enjoy a good tale,i could settle for a run of the mill basic set of companions,so long as they can get the jobs i mentioned above done as similar as i mentioned possible) 3)easy to reach and set to follow(a tavern,an inn,an alchemy shop,i would love it if it could be boiled down to one place and estabilishment in an "urban" area of skyrim) 4)OPTIONAL- their own horses(again, entirely OPTIONAL) 5)prefebly with "basic" skyrim packages(i wouldn't want to go around mod shopping for specific custom made packages aside for the follower extention that i would use. any basic skyrim companion voice pack 'although a little variaty in those voice packs would be nice',any simple "pay for teach" systems thats in the game for teaching(for the multi-skills like mage or thief,it would be alright to just have them know what they'r doing instead of knowing how to teach it all),a " i need you to do something" and "i want to you to carry this" dialog options so i could manage them better and,if possible, the ability for them to go into sneak-mode and unsheate their weapons when i do,but that's just a small idea. so again,i wouldn't mind how it got to be made or how basic it is,so long as it meets both what i want from that "Team" and the criteria i mentioned. and if you can't do it on your own and you know a kind enough modder to do it for me,i would love the recommendation ^_^ thanks in advance and have a nice day ^_^
