  1. I want to use the old "save during showracemenu" trick from oblivion, but saving is disabled while that menu is open. Is there anyway to save the game using the console? Also, despite what many others have said - showracemenu to make cosmetic changes DOES NOT leave your stats untouched. It messes with Active Effects and will delete your racial passive resistances/buffs. I would like to try this trick to trick it, but need to save my game using the console.
  2. To those saying that they have done this and it "worked" can you please confirm that you have opened your "ACTIVE EFFECTS" section under magic and see that your racial is still there. Perhaps I am doing something wrong in the order of operations. Stats stay the same Skills/perks stay the same ALL active effects (other than sign for some reason) are gone. Your gear enchantments are easy to get back - just take off then put back on. But how to get Racial passive back. Pretty sure all races have a passive. I hope to test this later today with all the races.
  3. How do you save during the Racemenu? Saving is disabled. What is the console command to save game? Thanks
  4. I have read in a few places that using showracemenu to change COSMETICS has no change to your character. I believe this is wrong. You lose a number of active magic effects, but the big one (as a Breton) is losing my racial magic effect (25% magic resist) Anyone know how to get around this? Anyone know the From ID for the Racial passive effects? So we can add them back on? They seem to be the only thing missing. Thanks a ton!
  5. Hi all, I am having trouble with a quest and no guide seems to be able to help. I am doing the NCR's "For the Republic" quest and after the Omerta quest I was given the quest to take out Mr. House (other guides go from the Omertas to the Brotherhood) There is a map marker inside House's Suite but nothing is there. I cannot talk to House either because he wants me to go retrieve the Chip and then use it inside the Bunker and give me nothing else Is this a bug, do I need to get the chip first, did I mess something up in the convo with House? I really want to side with the NCR, but if I can't get this quest line done I can't go with them. any info you got would be great.
  6. I would like the amount of factions and depth of factions that was present in Morrowind. Seems like Bethesda is getting into just simplifying things too much. Also, while I love the snap and place set pieces, because it makes world building easy... I don't like how there are only three or four templates (Haven't I been in this cave/ruin/fort before?) Really makes the dungeon crawling quite boring. More grand events like the end of the main quest. Like factions fighting each other in cities.. or hostile take overs. Things like that.
  7. The missile launcher is just really cool. Watching the missile come flying at the enemy in VATS is just really fun.
  8. Getting back on subject here.... Things I did different - I am currently on my fifth character so there are a few Go Evil and get Tennpenny Suite - thats an obvious one On my latest character I am doing - true evil - kill everyone - Got the quest reward? Good, now DIE! Do the main quest either not at all - or very very quickly... the enclave are fun! Get the DLC's Do Head of State - or do it again the other way Different companions with different weapons Convince Moira not to do the book Melee/Unarmed and Demolitions... thats all - no other guns .... sneak optional Those are just a few things you can do - have fun!
  9. Are missiles counted in the demolitions expert perk? I always assumed they were not, but then I saw some posts that they were... so I want the final word on this.
  10. I really like big guns personally, but that is just me. As for good "dungeons" I personally recommend - the fairfax ruins - a urban raider area which is a real blast (SW of Megaton) The Wheaton Armory - another great urban raider den that is great for snipers (North of the DC Proper) Also fun is the Bethesda Ruins south of the Wheaton armory These areas are wide open outdoor areas that allow you to attack from any angle and really play it your way.
  11. @ ZWIQ An easy mod would be creation of an NPC who "Builds" you protectrons when you give him x amount of scrap metal, x amount of laser pistols, and x amount of fission batteries. Of course you would have to up the speed of protectrons, because at current they are slow as molasses and would be useless to have as a companion
