showler, I was unaware of the difference in mod handling. I had assumed that since all mods previously installed via Vortex showed in the FO4 Mod list, that they all would be there. Thanks for the instruction. So I loaded the game and went to where the mod should show its effect and sure enough there it was. So now I know just to ignore the FO4 built-in Mod list when using Vortex. All is well. Thanks. JL

I've been using Vortex for a while and it's been working fine. But today I downloaded a mod and installed it in Fallout 4 via Vortex as I've done with the other mods but there's a problem. It's there and enabled in Vortex. But in the game menu in Fallout 4 it doesn't show up with all the other previously installed mods. Vortext does not indicate any problems. I don't know if the problem is in Vortext or in Fallout 4. Any way to fix this so the mod shows up in the game and is usable? JL

Back to NV after NC
FalloutPlayerForever replied to FalloutPlayerForever's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Never mind, I figured it out. -
After finishing New California, how do I play New Vegas again? I finished New Vegas a long time ago and recently finished New California. I'd like to play New Vegas again from the beginning but I can't see how to get back to the game because the shortcut has been taken over by New California. Tried creating a new shortcut but nothing happens.

I noticed when scanning my drive with Tree Size that it shows in AppData\Roaming\Vortex\falloutnv\mods is the executable for a falloutnv patch. But also in AppData\Roaming\Vortex\downloads\falloutnv is the zipped executable that I had downloaded. Does this zip file need to be left there? I'm trying to free up space and I don't know if the zip needs to be there or not. I wouldn't think so as long as the patch is left in the other folder. Any thoughts about this? JL

Reducing clutter in Vortex folder
FalloutPlayerForever replied to FalloutPlayerForever's topic in Vortex Support
Thanks for the replies. These give me the information I need to know what to do. Appreciate it. -
I have installed Fallout New California and with the latest patch of v213 to v221 I now have what seems duplication inside Vortex. Inside \Vortext\falloutnv\mods is a subfolder for the patch with the patch executable in it. But then in \Vortex\downloads\\falloutnv is what I believe is the .7z file I downloaded from the site. Are both of these needed to run the FONVNC game properly? Can I remove one of them without any side effect? I ask because I migrated from 1TB HDD to a 500GB SSD and now I see articles that say an SSD runs best when free space is kept a close as possible to a minimum of 50%. Right now I'm at 46% free and I'd like to increase that especially if I can get rid of any clutter duplication. JL

Sometimes I have no problem purchasing items then other times I can't purchase anything. It acts like I can't just outright purchase items but must sell and purchase at the same time. I've noticed that at the top of the transaction window, it says 0 caps for both me and the store. Is Gun Runners a barter only so you -must- sell if you want to purchase? JL
