  1. GPU is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M Maybe I just need to update my drivers,. I'll keep an eye out for another hang and look for those codes. Thanks for the help!
  2. I've been doing a fair bit of mod related stuff lately, both running various mods off the steam workshop and trying my hand at .ini modding. Until today none of the stuff I had done/installed caused any problems. However, after a bit of .ini modding today the game has started randomly freezing on me and going to a blank/black screen. It has happened both in battle and in the Avenger. All of these changes are in the [Documents\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\Config] folder. Changes I made today include: Upping initial soldiers to 6 Adding more enemies to most pods Adding HP to most soldiers/enemies plus tweaks to a few enemies Upping Full/Partial cover values Tweaking grenade damage spread Files I changed are: XCOMMissions XCOMGameCore XComGameData_WeaponData XComGameData_CharacterStats Anyone know if the stuff I did could cause that, or is more likely some mod updated and broke everything? Unfortunately I have too much stuff to easily troubleshoot this, especially since the crash can take over an hour to manifest.
  3. Good things to know. Thanks! Anyone played around with any other settings?
  4. Started thinking about modding the AI behavior a bit to make it more interesting. How much do we know about how the AI works? Are there good changes that people have tested out? I tried searching a bit, but couldn't find anything decent in the results.
  5. Hmm. I don't know much about how the Unreal Engine works, but could Cover be tied to the Objects actually placed in the game? By which I mean that the car model itself actually holds the cover information attached to it somehow. They may have originally set it so that cover could have different values depending on what you were fighting behind (so maybe that planter was originally just 10% cover instead of 20%). That'd be a nightmare to change, I'd bet, but it's a possibility. You'd think there'd be a nice central place for those variables but since people aren't finding one...this would be another way to do it. A clunky one, in my opinion, but still possible.
  6. So much was cut. I really wish they'd open up full mod support so we could start adding a bunch of this back in.
  7. Interesting. I'll have to check it out.
  8. What's contained in there? (I'm at work and can't check)
  9. Well...it looks like I may just have an older version of the Modpatcher. I tried just using Resource Hacker to make the changes, and that with the hosts file change let me use my mod just fine even with Steam Online. Go figure. Thanks for the help, guys!
  10. Yes, the Modpatcher. Sorry, just called it the wrong thing. Hmm...maybe I'll try reinstalling steam to see if that fixes it.
  11. Hmm. Problem is, all I'm trying to do is redo the mods. Doesn't matter what I do, it seems, Steam just won't run my modded version. Here are the steps I'm doing: Validated game cache, steam updated everything. Booted up game in Online mode, it installed it's stuff and ran fine. Exit game Boot up game again, checks and runs fine. Exit game. Switch to offline mode. Boot up game again, runs fine. Run modloader to make changes Boot up game - stuck at 0% updating. *sigh* Is it the modloader? Do I need to just use Resource hacker now? Oh, and I do have the hosts file change. Didn't stop anything. :/
  12. Hey all, Been doing a little bit of modding, mostly just tweaks and small stuff. Everything was fine, but now that they patched it I can't get the game to start in offline mode. Steam just gets stuck saying it's at 0%. If I go to online mode it'll 'install' and work, but that's overwriting the .exe and getting rid of my changes. Anyone know the trick to getting around this?
