  1. I've finally gotten the goal off my bucket list - I've "fixed" the Chorrol, Bruma, IC, and Leyawiin houses. I gave up on fixing the Bravil shack because it's hopeless, but I did make two alternative homes in that city. I didn't do any overhauls in Cheydinhal, Anvil or Skingrad because those houses are excellent as-is, and it would be difficult (not worth the time) to top them. Cheydinhal and Anvil have always been my two go-to houses in the unmodified game. Very pretty, well-priced, not too big, not too small, and a good storage situation. Skingrad's Rosethorn Hall always seemed like a bit of overkill - because why would I need all that space or storage? - but I understand it's good-looking and it fits many people's needs. Therefore, for now, I have no interest in changing those houses. I may get bored and decide otherwise at some point.
  2. I made a house exterior with some stock textures from the game and some custom ones. The problem is that my custom textures don't seem to shift appearance in the fog (probably not in rain either but I haven't checked.) The regular textures become paled and grayed out (like you're looking at them through fog, duh) but my custom textures remain bright as if there were no fog. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance. http://i40.tinypic.com/2yzbj8i.jpg
  3. Oh, also, my BF is available for male voices. He can do a bunch of different voices, and can also fake a fair British Posh or Cockney accent. :-)
  4. <<< Available for free voice acting. Female, standard American accent. I live in an audio/video studio, so I can make good-quality recordings. Hit me up if you need me. :-)
  5. Never effing mind, I did it myself through trial and error. Thanks a bundle, this forum gets more useful every day. /sarcasm
  6. I have several houses to which I'd like to add a container that accesses a common inventory, like The Luggage, but without COBL. I've considered using a Bag of Holding or something similar, but it's not exactly what I'm looking for. I just want a chest in each of my houses, sitting there, can't pick it up, that accesses the same inventory. I know jack squat about scripting but I can follow instructions. How can this be done?
  7. I want to make a house right now but I'm fresh out of ideas since my current Leyawiin and Anvil projects are turning out to be uninspiring, and I have nothing better to contribute to Skingrad and Cheydinhal for now. Is there any area of the map where you would like to see a new house? What would the house look like? Any specific features?
  8. Why? I'm the only one who uses my box and I know what I'm doing on it... I'm not a 2-year-old banging on the keyboard with a rubber mallet :-P
  9. You should not have Oblivion installed in Program files. Period. But why? Everything works perfectly. With administrator privileges I set my whole Oblivion folder to be read/writable by anything, so there's no issue. Sure, before I did that, things were being saved to a virtual storage folder, but it was an easy matter to change the permissions on the Oblivion folder and all its subfolders. Is there some harm that can be done by having Oblivion in the Program Files?
  10. All right, so I have the interior cell finished. (It's a large tent.) Now I want a spell, or an object I can throw on the ground and select, or whatever, which will open a portal to the cell or, barring that, just teleport me there. Then I want to be able to leave through the interior door and be placed back where I was before I entered. Problem is I have no idea how to do this. I would immensely appreciate any help you could offer.
  11. That's what I use, it's under "0 NiNode > bhkCollisionObject > bhkRigidBody". You change Motion Quality to MO_QUAL_FIXED and Motion System to MO_SYS_KEYFRAMED. If you want the object to be totally still, like you can't even select it or take it, you can right click on 0 NiNode, go to "Block" and select "Remove Branch" but this makes it so you can walk right through the object - but sometimes it's better that way, I guess.
  12. NP, I've gotten so much help from you guys here that I'll contribute any little bit I can, LOL
  13. Thanks :-) It's almost done. Just need to plant some crops around the farm exterior.
  14. My oblivion is installed in the x86 and everything works fine. My testing buddy couldn't run any of my mods, just like you, and then we figured out he'd never installed the official patch. Once he patched it everything worked perfectly. He also has his in the x86.
  15. Trial and error, 25 worked for me (and the minimal use thing). Thanks for the tip. Someone else had said the cutoff was 30 but I was still getting the problem at 29.
  16. Continued from other thread: I created a dungeon cell, put a player-owned key-only door on it and everything, but any creature I put in there (goblin, spriggan, atronach, rat, whatever) keeps teleporting out after me, follows me around the wilderness, and even teleports into my player-owned house. What am I doing wrong?
  17. Nope, still following me. Even followed me into my house.
  18. My Spriggan and her root pit dungeon are set up now, but I have one problem: She keeps following me out the cell. I set a key on the door and the door's ownership to me. I want her to stay in the cell, not escape out into the wilderness. What am I doing wrong?
  19. Nah, I'd prefer she didn't die, that way I can keep hacking away. I'm just gonna make a custom Spriggan for this purpose. 10000 health, 1 damage, no spells except for self-healing. For roleplaying purposes I'll label her "Crazy Spriggan Roommate Treena" so I can justify keeping (and attacking) a hostile humanoid being in the basement. I'll also put a bed and a tree down there. LOL
  20. Ugh. I think I'm just gonna stick a Spriggan with infinite health and no damage in the basement as a training creature. Yes/no?
  21. Trying to make a training dummy (chaindoll) that takes hits and lets you skill up in blade/blunt/whatever. I tried creating one from an existing NPC/Creature and setting ChainDoll02 as the NIF and the health as 10000, and it's set as essential, with combatstyle = defaultnoflee and movement = none, but my test character's Blunt won't budge no matter how many times I hit the dummy. What am I doing wrong? If you have no idea what I'm talking about, which is entirely possible, then just please tell me: how can I make a training dummy that lets you skill up - without using someone else's resources?
  22. Nope, did nothing. And now look at them! >:-(
  23. I'm shacking up with Vilja and Fergus. Freaking Fergus keeps passing out in my double bed, which I assigned to myself and Vilja. I have a single bed for him but he usually just passes out in mine. I told them both "this is your bed" while standing ON TOP OF the beds I want them to use. But they won't listen. Is there a way to make it so they will only sleep in a certain bed, or do they just randomly pick a nearby player-owned bed?
  24. ^^^^I beg your merciful forgiveness, madam, but you seem to have misplaced your garments. :D ^^^^
