  1. The flayer knife is from Warcry, so you could try checking there. FCOM might be the one that made it playable, though.
  2. I did a translation/update of a German mod I found on Scharesoft, and I just found out that one of the original authors (and the uploader) had been banned a few years ago, and all his files removed. Should I remove my version too? Is it okay to reupload his other files (I don't have them, his friend does)?
  3. I love quest mods. They're the single greatest thing for any game - they give you more things to see and do, and extend the playing time immeasurably. This site is dedicated to quest mods for TES IV: Oblivion. A long time ago, dev\akm posted a list of big and small quest mods for TES IV: Oblivion on his site that he thought were worth playing. When the site hosting the newer version was taken down (those links go to the original one), it was copied and expanded by a group of people and became The Oblivion Quest List (TOQL). About a year and a half later, I came up with an idea to build a wiki - each mod would get its own page with a similar format as before, but I would include every quest mod I could find, including those written in languages other than English. Quest mods are difficult to make, and their authors deserve exposure for putting forth the time and effort to give them to the community. The wiki is complete - it has 269 mods from all languages. The main page is here; if you want to skip straight to the master list, it's here. Go forth and enjoy! This wiki is hosted by Dark Creations. Thanks to Xae for giving me a space there. (If you want reviews or mods recommended by the community, check out the TOQL.)
  4. It got moved to The Assimilation Lab: http://www.theassimilationlab.com/forums/files/file/862-elsweyr-the-desert-of-anequina/
  5. She pulled it because people were flooding the comments section with stupid questions, basically... she was working on it more or less alone, and didn't have the time or patience for tech support. There might have been some harassment involved, I don't know, but she eventually quit working on it because of burnout.
  6. I'm using IE8, and I have the same problem - it just started up a week or so ago. If I right-click on the file name and open a new window, I can get the download servers just fine, but clicking directly opens up a small, blank window.
  7. Yeah, I've seen lots of other folks doing what I'm doing (posting updates/bugfixes/whatnot), so I think I'll be all right. I'm sure they'll give me a warning if I do something bad. :)
  8. I suspect I already know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway. I want to upload an updated version of Ruins of Miscarcand (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/24471). I tried contacting the author, but he hasn't responded after 30 days, and he hasn't been active on the Nexus for almost 6 months. His readme says that "Everything else is made by me and totally free to use. I don't care if you credit me or not." which obviously applies to the meshes and textures, but I'm not sure about the esp (and I'd credit him anyway :) ). So... is it okay to do it?
  9. Huh?? I don't have that setting (in fact, I don't have anything labelled "Global Preferences"). I'm using IE8 and getting the same thing, BTW - it must be an IE thing.
  10. 1: I use all the cities merged. 2: I use modular BCIC because I have 300 Arcane University and Dirtier Waterfront, which I vastly prefer to the BC versions (sorry guys). Hearing about OBC making a comeback is kinda cool; I used to use it, but the FPS hit/crashing problems made me give up and go to straight Better Cities. I've found that a short load time at the gates isn't that immersion-breaking, and it's definitely worth the stability.
  11. Just use the Egg Translator. It was made specifically for this purpose.
