  1. I wish more people around this community would have this attitude. This is very well-worded and helpful, nicely said.
  2. Having that attitude will only prove to be a roadblock to improving. EVERYONE "sucks" when they first start at something. Even the people who seem awesome at something are always improving and at one point, they didn't know what they were doing at all. Just keep on asking for advice and taking suggestions, and you'll constantly improve as long as you have an open mind. It might get frustrating, but in the end, the work pays off. Trust me.
  3. if you have a legal copy, why do you need a no CD patch, that doesn't make sense. It actually makes plenty of sense if your disc drive doesn't work right, like mine, and you're too poor to fix it.
  4. It says right under the first image, that it was meant to have the HUD. And all the other stuff you said, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE EVER TRIED THIS!! Why don't you do all that stuff, if you really hate the image that much. This type of whining is exactly why I stopped frequenting these forums quite a while back. Heaven forbid someone try to give anyone here honest criticism on their precious Oblivion screen shots or someone doesn't think one of the many overrated characters here is attractive. He was helping you. I pray you never attend an art school if you're going to have such a juvenile attitude .... that can be said about a lot of people here.
  5. This is an interesting topic, while Oblivion is a great game, it definitely has flaws. Anyone who played Morrowind would definitely notice that one huge flaw is how much less variety Oblivion has compared to Morrowind - I mean in terms of things like weapons and whatnot. A lot of things were definitely cut out, and that's what I personally hate the most about Oblivion. I can understand why Bethesda changed things, though - likely for time constraints above all, but they did also make Oblivion much simpler and understandable, especially for players new to The Elder Scrolls. Mods make up for, though. What I love most are the visuals, most definitely. I'm not saying Oblivion is lacking in any other aspect, but nothing impressed me more in Oblivion than when I first stepped out of the Imperial Sewers and saw Cyrodiil. While it wasn't as wild and unique-looking as Vvardenfell, it was still absolutely gorgeous - and to me, it still is. For those who don't care to read my ramble-y post: LOVE: The visuals. HATE: The lack of weapon options in comparison to Morrowind's options.
  6. As a bit of an update to this topic - I regret to say I've been unlucky. In the process of messing around I messed up my game and had to do a reinstall. I keep all my mods and whatnot all backed up on an external drive, so reinstalling was no issue, but I don't think I'm going to keep pursuing this attempt at merging Ramy and Midas' Magic. At least, not at the moment, since I really just want to sit down and play the game again. For the past few days I've done a lot of messing with mods and little playing. Anyway, mimada, thank you again for your help, you did give me and Sakura both a lot of good tips for when I attempt this again. I just wanted to post again and let you know how it went with trying your idea. I don't think I'm skilled enough in editing mods to do much, though. =/
  7. You technically can somewhat mod the Xbox version of Oblivion, but you have to mess with the console itself and it can get your gamertag banned. It also voids your warranty and all that - so it's doable to a small extent, but you aren't supposed to do it. You can't do a whole lot to the Xbox version anyway, I think the most you can really do is mess with the level cap and whatnot. As everyone else is saying, the PC version is well worth it. Tons of mods, new ones coming out constantly ... try to get yourself a PC able to run it. If you want to see how well your current PC would handle Oblivion, try this site: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest The site uses Java to directly compare your PC's specs to any game on that list, and will tell you how close to max visual settings your PC can run the game in question. Oblivion is on the list. Hope that helps somewhat.
  8. Same goes for my character, Arya; she's part of the same role-playing campaign as Evelynne. There is nothing wrong with role-playing. As someone who likes to write as a hobby, it helps me keep me in practice and is crucial to character development. I love the whole concept of having to get into character and consider how your character would do things as opposed to how you would. It's a lot of fun. Arya was created a mere two years ago, but in all that time she's like her own being, totally separate from myself. As a person, I'm generally very quiet and somewhat antisocial - Arya, on the other hand, is very loud, aggressive, and completely outgoing. In situations where I would stand back and take no action, Arya would charge forward and be the first to do something. I could ramble on; but I'm just making an example of where the fun is in role-playing - it may be different for some but for me, it's all about the character development. I see no shame in being a "nerd" like that. =3
  9. You have the right idea, however, you must strip out any changes to worldspaces and cells. A master file will override oblivion.esm and would result in undesired/unexpected results. The only thing the midas.esm should have are the scripted spells. The midas master may affect midas.esp as well so if you want to have the Midas quests and locations, you'll have to rebuild the esp. The technique I used is a quick and dirty fix. You can use it for all your personal companions by merging them into the esp. Because of the aiming bug, I found that the best spells to use are area effects. Thanks a ton! I grabbed the .esp ... I won't be messing with it right away, I just signed on to do a last check on this thread before heading to sleep. I'll have all day to mess around with it when I wake up. By merging, what do you mean? If this involves Wrye Bash, I might need a bit of an explanation on merging plugins, because I'm very inexperienced with Wrye Bash. =x ... The most I've used it for is making master files of race plugins for custom companions. Again thank you very much for the merged .esp. I'll be seeing what I can do with it when I wake up. =)
  10. Oh, I see. Forgive me for not understanding. I can take a peek at the Midas' Companions mod sometime, perhaps. I haven't yet because I don't feel like downloading all the requirements simply to check. Though I suppose it would be worth it to take a peek. Now, ideally, without looking - based on the theory of adding to the leveled list for spells - if I did this with the spells I want my companions to use, then would they logically also be capable of using the spells I add to the list? Another theory I was wondering about was if I could simply make Midas' Magic into a Master file to add the spells to my companion's spell list. Would this work in any way, or would spells still need to be in the leveled list? I aim to try to accomplish my goal with the least amount of complication possible, if it can be done. Thank you for the help so far to everyone who has responded.
  11. I read through the forum topic, but couldn't pluck out anything that really said how to do it and make it work. And it seemed the discussion ended up going on more about how to add the spells to the leveled list than anything else. Thanks, though.
  12. I was actually going to post this very same question. The idea is that Sakura and I each want to make each others' original characters as companions (as in, his character as a companion in my game and mine as a companion in his). SO FAR ... we know how to change Ramy's race and name to be our characters. Simple enough. Now, we want to utilize Midas' Magic and add some spells in of our choice. Any help would be appreciated.
  13. I did a quick search and found this - A Better Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary Is that what you were looking for?
  14. The suggestions here so far have been nice. In addition to them, I also suggest Tona WhiteSquall - Tona WhiteSquall for HGEC It's nice to see other players who support the idea of making their female paladins actually look combat-ready. :)
  15. I read this and recalled what I assumed was a glitch - the glitch being when I used the console to tweak my character, I'd noticed the age slider had notched up slightly. So, I think the age slider going up at all is a glitch (?). No idea what causes it, though.
  16. Glass weapons aren't made of the kind of glass you're thinking of - they're made of volcanic glass. That's how I would explain why, at least.
  17. Why do mountain lions show up so early? Seriously, they're level 15 or something and pop up when you're character is only level 11 or so. =| It makes me sad.
  18. I like that we're all having a discussion about music. =D I personally love just about anything from the 90's. I'm only 19, so the 90's are my childhood and I'm not familiar with much before then, but hearing 90's music brings back happy childhood memories. Plus, I just think so much of it is good, quality music and I'm always happy to hear it. Anyone else for the music of the 90's?
  19. I like coffee. I like that I have coffee right now.
  20. *entirely speechless with happiness at having found this thread* ... I was a Diablo I addict. I want Diablo III. Now.
  21. I recognize a few from a set in a Japanese mod, the problem being that the site for them is down. I have no clue on the others. =( Try a Google search on "Beautiful People 2ch ed". That's the name of the mod for some of the hairs.
  22. Do you mean in terms of the animation that plays when you cast the spell? If so, this one changes the cast animation to a finger snap: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12626 There is also one that changes the third-person cast animation. Search "Spell Singer".
  23. Hi Leenysaurus, Blunt for a druid, isn't it strange? First there is a druid classe: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14262 I found a mod that create a skill of fighting "without an armor". For exemple when you fight with a robe this skill will increase. I think it's a must have for a mage or a druid but I can't find this mod again  . I think this mod can be interessant: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12257 you can summon horse, lion, bear... and not only deadra or undead creatures. Your druid need a house :): http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13237 This mod increase the possible number of simultaneous potion effects based on a character's Alchemical Mastery: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1910 For better potions bottles: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14347 or http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16486 At Home Alchemy is an immersive mod which allows you to use apparatus' in the Game World without having to put them in your inventory first: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5478 Alchemy expanded: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3047 Tamrielic ingredients is a must have for the alchemy: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11084 Some robes for your druidess: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10935 http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4072 (there is a UFF andan Exnem version of this mod) http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16645 the indigo armor. Oh! and take a look at the Gypsy Market http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17923 In fact I don't know well what you want for clothes. I thinl you should search for robes. If you use Fantasy Figures body mod there are many nice robes. I have never tested those mods. I hope you will like this list. Tell me what do you think. Excuse me for my english. Menrhunes I know a lot of people would suggest marksmen more than blunt, but as far as my Dungeons and Dragons knowledge serves me, druids frequently wielded rapiers and clubs, and the like. So I went with it. Anyway, that's an amazingly expansive list of mods, many thanks for all these things. I'm definitely getting the tree house. It's too fitting not to get! Gotta go install Shivering Isles though, haven't done that yet ... I'm trying out the mod that adds more potion effects, since it's already bugged me that I can only add so much to a single potion. I'll also check out the at-home alchemy, sounds simple yet logical. I wish there were more Druid fitting clothes. I use Exnem's body mod but I like the Gypsy Market, so I'm going to use it regardless. I saw several dresses I liked. I'll test those for now before I go on to adding more ingredients and whatnot. Thank you very much for the list! Those were some nice finds that help what I'm looking for. The only one I didn't like was the summoning spell, because it replaces all conjuration summons in-game. I'm not too worried about summons though since I got a wolf companion. I suppose for the moment I'll take these and go on looking for more things myself, lest I get so mod happy that I mod more than I play! If anyone has a really awesome suggestion though I'll take PM's. I'm sure other people want to get their requests for mods in here. Thank you all. =)
  24. As far as alchemy goes I'll take anything that adds to it or makes it a little more than what it is by stock, as long as it works with Supreme Magicka, MMM, and other major mods. Other than that I'd like things fitting for an Elven Druid. Just something to fit the class and make more of a true Druid, sort of like D&D style. Hmm, anything along the lines of animal transformations? Other than the Dryad race.
