  1. Have you ever felt limited in your options as a Criminal? Have you ever thought that being a sneak thief is just not your style, but you still want to take peoples stuff? Real Life crime rarely, if ever, happens in "Sneak Mode", and I have a few characters that I would love to play with these mods implemented: 1. Take people's stuff = Go up to a person, activate them to talk to them, and in the present dialogue options will be a choice "Give me your goods!" (or something of that nature), and if successful you get access to their inventory! Afterward, you can convince them not to report the crime when you leave the cell. Ideas to implement this into the game: -Have weapon drawn when you talk to the person to activate the dialogue option to appear to take their belongings (also immersive and threatening) -Have your success rate at this be based on level ( Simply if you level is higher than their level, you are successful) OR -Have your success rate based on current bounty in that hold ( If bounty is above X septims, you are successful) -Can convince them not to report your crime based on SPEECH SKILL level OR specific SPEECH PERK -If you are unsuccessful in convincing them not to report the crime, as soon as you leave the cell ( or leave the hold in exterior) your bounty increases ( because they "reported" the crime) 2. Compliance while Trespassing= Break into a persons house, when they ask you to leave , activate them to speak to them with the dialogue option "I'm not going anywhere." You can then spend the night in their home, or take their possessions, or activate them to take their inventory possessions if you wish. While you are in their home, they will be in "fear", but they wont leave. Ideas to implement this into the game: -Again, have weapon drawn when you speak to the person after trespassing to initiate/activate the dialogue option -Have success rate to be based on LEVEL or BOUNTY -Can convince them not to report based on SPEECH SKILL or specific SPEECH perk or BOUNTY -Perhaps make success rate at this based on BOUNTY & number of Followers you have, to make it realistic for victim to be in fear and to not try to run away -Failure to convince them not to report will raise bounty in hold when you leave the cell or hold -Failure to have them comply at all will result in them doing what they normally do now: start yelling and attacking you 3. Real Pickpocketing (Stated in previous Mod Request Entry)= When you bump into a NPC (where you cause them to say "HEY! Watch it!" or whatever), you get a box that comes up stating "Pickpocket this person?" -Yes -No If yes is selected, you then have access to their inventory where your stealing % applies. This is to occur when NOT in sneak mode, the way pickpocketing happens in real life. Ideas to implement this into the game: -Have the success rate of this method be lower ( pickpocketing when a person doesn't know your there is generally easier then when the person knows you are there) -Have success rate of this be lower depending on # of NPC's present (If act occurs in another NPC's field of view, chances dramatically decrease) -Link this ability to the perks of the pickpocket tree ( Player cannot perform this type of pickpocketing until they get a specific perk) The fundamental aspect I want to introduce to the criminality of Skyrim with these mods are: Realism, Freedom, Personality. Mods I envision that would go really well with these include: Follower mods ( to make your own Bandit outfit) and Lock Breaking mods ( so the brute bandit characters don't have to fiddle with lockpicks to bust someone's door to splinters to have access to their property). If I were able, I would make this as a whole overhaul mod, and I would include my own system for the breaking of locks. Thoughts and opinions are welcome.
  2. I am not an expert. In fact I don't know much about computers at all. BUT, from what I have learned in the past two months of modding and computing, I don't think you will have any problems with those mods. Start running 250 mods and HQ everything textures and you will experience a decrease in performance. It depends on how your computer is set up, if your mods are compatible, etc. That is what is important. A sound system, and a sound load order/mod compatibility. Here are pathways for you to find your own assistance and knowledge. May it bring you to a stable game regardless of your mod ambitions. My advice: Explore your options, learn your system, perfect your system, know your mods, perfect your mod setup, & enjoy a stable game. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27959 http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/stable-gaming#1 http://s1.zetaboards.com/bbenlibrary/topic/4751769/1/#new
  3. I am a novice chess player. I have been playing for about 7-8 months. I don't have any kind of rating. I would like to play chess with any willing member of The Nexus Forums! Please share any general chess info, stories, experiences, etc. in this forum. Otherwise, if you would like to play chess, send a PM with coordinates and we start playing. Yes, that means you will be white. Edit: I don't play speed games. If you send coordinates, do so with the understanding that I WILL respond with a move, but at my leisure. So it will basically be correspondence chess over the internet (just faster and we won't have to pay for stamps).
  4. It is called = No Death Mod I understand the appeal of this mod, but logically, if your character dies frequently and you have done the quest to retrieve your gear several times it will become something to be avoided. I see a lot of people eventually just reloading their games just like they did before they had this mod. Also, logically, many foes out there in Skyrim WANT to kill you! Not just leave you in the wilderness...
  5. Oh WOW! I totally forgot about that show! I used to watch it repeatedly with a group of friends a few years ago. The show had two seasons, then disappeared. I have NEVER in my whole life seen a show that innovative, funny, provacative, and "controversial" as that show was. The creators made a show after that called "Tim and Eric, Awesome Show Great Job!" It was shown on Adult Swim. That show was sadly dismal, in my opinion. If you want to watch Wonder Showzen again, you could just purchase it used on Amazon.

If you want to make these mods happen, please let me know! For what its worth: I have spent many hours trying to figure out how to create these mods myself. I learned that all of my ideas are no easy feats for beginners. There are no tutorials for doing things that haven't been done before. I am inexperienced at modding and computers in general( I'm a newbie), and in my research I discovered that I would have to learn scripting to make these mods happen. By the time I figure out how to script, TES6 will be out with it's DLC.
  7. I would like to indeed! I have so many ideas for skyrim, some that people have done better than i would have been able to do. Others, ideas that people haven't even scratched the surface of. Computers are the farthest thing from my element though. Imaging the thing you are least good at and that you HATE doing and that you have the most trouble learning, that is what i am doing right now... Thank you for your reply though. Your response gives me the confidence to continue. Btw, I have already made weapons, followers, etc., though you provide a good solid lead for me to explore regarding the feed option. Honestly, i haven't played a vampire character yet so that connection escaped me. Take care for now.
  8. In my opinion daventry has displayed all of those in his query, just in a culturally influenced and scattered way.
  9. Hello. Have a problem with Wrye Bash. Have spent hours researching a solution to no avail ( tried looking in Wrye Forums, tried searching with different word combinations in search engines). If anyone has a solution/advice please share. Problem: Mouse pointer will not work properly on Wrye Bash plugin load order. Just started happening today. I click on a plugin, i try to move it, it either doen't move, or a plugin above/below moves instead. What ever moves will not go where i place it. Instead, it goes one space above/ below where i try to place it. Attempted solutions/notes: Seems to effect one profile only. When i deselect all plugins, i can move them with no trouble. When i activate them, this situation occurs. I have read the general and advanced read me files. Found nothing regarding this issue, though it's possible i overlooked something simple. Human error is always a possibility... Again, please share with advice/ solution, and if possible tell me what i did to cause this, if my fault. Take care.
  10. tyrannynexus: What attitude is pleasant to work with?
  11. I wish to create multiple modifications, the first one being a mod that, when active, will let my character in skyrim be able to pickpocket other characters without being in sneak mode, by bumping into them to have access to their inventory where your pickpocketing odds apply. I wish to simulate realistic pickpocketing, and pickpocketing in the streets doesn't happen in 'sneak' mode. You know when you play skyrim and you run and bump into another person they usually say something like "Hey, watch it!" or "Watch where you're going!" ? Whenever i do this, i want a box to come up to ask me if i want to pickpocket the person. If i select 'yes', i then view their inventory and can steal from them with a chance for it to be undetected. If i can create this mod, i then wish to create a new perk in the pickpocket tree that needs to be attained for my character to be able to do this. How would i do that? There are plenty of tutorials, video and text, that tell me how to change statistics and abilities but i have found nothing on how to create new abilities like this. I have seen and learned how to change and make my own perks, but i don't know how to make a new ability to be applied to whatever new perk i can create.
  12. I have spent much time looking over birthsign mods that people have created, and i am willing to offer my constructive criticism without going into TOO much details. I believe the ones in standard skyrim were lame and most of them were unbalanced/ unappealing. Consider that my perspective consists of me enjoying super hard, realistic mod setups that i have for multiple characters. When i play, i play for challange and realism. -I love the Apprentice. Would be very useful tactically.. -The Atronach is fair, though Blood sacrifice is too dangerous as a mage in close combat with melee fighters... Even more so with mods that make armor rating and damage more realistic (such as Requiem or Deadly Combat damage changes, etc.) -The Lady's ability seems interesting, though unfair/unbalanced in my opinion. If applied it should have a short duration, not last indefinitely. -The Nord is unappealing and uninovative. As a melee fighter you need the highest damage output as the initiative, not as your dying. Buffing followers is fine. -I would definitely use the lover, it would be gleefully entertaining for a NPC to watch his friends die ( for certain characters of course...) -The Mage ability is neat. The lesser power, though, would never be considered. Especially in a heated battle where magicka was essential against multiple foes. -The Ritual is exploitative and unbalanced. You would perpetually go looking for fights so you can increase your stats. -The Serpent has no appeal in it whatsoever. It is asking for suicide. It would break immersion as players are constantly making sure others are around so they don't die... Too stressful for the little gain it would provide. -The shadow ability is awesome, i would love that for certain characters. The lesser ability, though, would never be practical. Not in sneaking nor in the heat of combat. -Steed ability is unbalanced. 25% and in and 100% out of combat is too much. Keep it at 10 or 15 accross the board seems fair. I don't understand twisting pathways. What do you mean by: places a marker? -The thief ability is only good until characters are good enough at their skills to kill with one hit in sneak mode. Otherwise, if it applies to all creatures (bosses and dragons) it would be a totally unfair advantage. The lesser power? If a thief has a power that lets him/her pull gold out of their ass, would it be in that manner? Don't be offended, that is my genuine sense of humor! -The tower is good and appealing, the lesser power should fairly reduce speed by 50%, not 75%. You would be a sitting duck for faster bladed enemies, multiple opponents(especially in improved AI mods), and ranged/ spell attackers. The only appeal to it is against a staggered half dead opponent, or a slow enemy you know will be defeated with your next few blows. How rare would that be? -The Warrior's ability would drive people mad in long battles, especially dragons. The first 30+ seconds of a dragon fight is waiting for it to land if your a close range melee fighter. Wouldn't be worth the trade. It would be useful in fast paced close quarter combat though, providing the character is willing or able to wait for combat to end before pursuing additional opponents. Wouldn't work for opponents that either you are chasing or are chasing you. Star of the West is not balanced and totally unfair.
  13. Hello. Thank you to the person who mad this forum entry. I hope to find some assistance here for modding in skyrim. Because of certain health conditions i experience i cannot retain information very well, and watching videos is madening when i am trying to learn something complicated. I must go back and forth inceasantly from the video to what i am doing to try to learn. It just isn't practical compared to concise deliberate instructions. I have just recently started modding, and because of my creative nature it was inevitable that i wanted to create my own mods. Unfortunately, i have not been able to find either a video or text tutorial for my specific goals. There is plenty of information available on the recommended websites that i have looked through that doesn't help me. I have found tutorials for learning the basics of modding, but i cannot retain the essence of what is demonstrated because it doesn't apply directly to what i seek to do. I have seen many videos and read many tutorials regarding advanced modding, though after hours of trying to find the applicable information i have become overwhelmed with knowledge that i don't know how to apply. I HAVE watched the creation kit tutorials. I HAVE watched and read over much of what was on this forum. I HAVE searced the internet aimlessly for instructions to creating the modifications i want to make. I DID deduce that i would probably have to learn scripting to accomplish my goals I have even tried to learn the basics of scripting. I learned how to make simple scripting mods, but beyond the tutorials i am lost! It's like learning a new language. Not my strength right now. Thus before either giving up or going crazy with integers and properties and such, i resort to asking for assistance (If my asking this is unwelcome by the creator of this specific forum, i apologize and will accept deletion of this entry). Basically: I need instructions for creating a mod that allows my character to pickpocket from NPC's, without being in sneak mode, by bumping into them. If the instructions can be simple and clear, so be it. If its complicated and a willing individual would need to walk me through the process, that is fine. I have many creative ideas and i feel that if i am left to learn by my self without guidence, i will just give up. Assistance with creating this mod will definitely allow me some knowledge to help my other mod visions come to fruition. I don't just want to KNOW the instructions, I want to LEARN the instructions. There is a difference that video tutorials don't even scratch the surface of. Basic tutorials don't either. They instruct without teaching. I suppose I seek a willing teacher. Anyone?
  14. I used the Deadly Dragons Console to customize dragon stats, but within the changes there are no options that alter health regen with dragons. Also, i use the Mighty dragons patch that makes it compatible with Deadly Dragons and i follow the specified load order. I looked through my mod list and i could not see any mods that could be conflicting with any of the dragon stats.
