Ohh, there sure were sooooo many problems with the system they wanted to put in place, you're absolutely right! It's unfortunate to see that in this whole mess, the major point to emerge was "Modding should remain free." I find it so sad for all the great modders we have here, and feel bad too for not having donated more to these awesome workers. Like a lot of people said, it was just a bad strategy overall from Valve and Bethesda to pick Skyrim to test this new paid system for a quick cash-grab, as it happens to be one of the biggest modded game ever... If they'd have tell us that the next Elders Scroll game would have paid-modding, I think a lot of us would have welcomed the idea, in fact! Better quality and complete mods in theory, as well as constant updates and new features as the game life progress. It's not that we DON'T want to pay for mods EVER, I'd gladly do it for the good ones, I'm serious. It was just such a bad PR decision, with bad timing and incredible arrogance, for a 4-5 year-old game with a lot of people who already uses mods.
