  1. <p>i have them both in their own folder outside of the program files, and the geck is in the fallout folder along with the fallout.exe and have ran the update but it still doesnt let me edit any weapons or load any locations into the render window.</p> <p> </p> <p>and by themes do you mean desktop theme?</p> <p> </p> <p>oh and i have the goty digital download from steam for FO3</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>EDIT: i also noticed i can edit weapons in the geck before i load any master files (so just the little dummy tester things like fists) but as soon as i load either a dlc, or fallout itself's master file the very second i try to edit something it pops up that stupid assert message and does the "geck has stopped working windows is looking for a problem". and closes :P litterally i just want to make a few weapons and armor OP and stick them in a box right outside vault 101 like i did in fallout nv, skyrim, marrowin, and oblivion. for some reason it just hates me. </p>
  2. So for some reason i cant really do anything in the geck for fallout 3 (yes its up to date) I have been all over google and forums trying to find a solution but cant seem to find anything.. So my problem is; 1) Editing weapons- no matter what the weapon is when i double click, or right click and select edit the geck pops up the same (X) Assert File: C:\projects\fallout3PC\BSShader\BSShaderManager.cpp Line 1996 [abort] [retry] [ignore] all of the options crash the geck and it happens no matter how many times i uninstall and re install my game, or geck it just keeps crashing. (oddly enough i can edit armor with zero trouble) problem 2) it does the exact same thing every time i try to load any location in the render window, interior or exterior the geck pops up that same assert message. i have plenty of experience with the geck for new vegas, along with the construction and creation kits. i dont really understand why the fallout 3 geck is the only one of these to not work at all. (also im on a laptop) so if anyone has the slightest clue as to what i could do to fix this any help is appreciated

OMGGGGGGG YOUR AMAZINGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!! lol so i did the bUSEMultiBounds=0 in the custom.ini under [general] and EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY!!!! every single time i googled or looked it up in nexus ppl said "oh no its show not use" but looks like they were wrong lol super stoaked thanks a billion. Edit: When i release my mod to nexus, ill be sure to give you props on it, because without your help i was going to scrap what i had
  4. i tried putting it in custom.ini again but all it did was make every interior completely blank same as before. ya just tried it in general x.x my geck hates me im going to call it a night :P what was origonally going to be a mod session till 6 am ended up lasting till 9 with very little done mod wise xP
  5. when i went to the custom ini there was no "bShowMultiBonds" so i added it in the same location it was listed under in prefs, and that made it remove every interior in the game, flat surfaced included. wouldnt even load the random npc's. ppl keep saying on other posts like this to change the pref, but saddly thats not working. Edit: did you have to write it in yourself, or was it already there? and where is it listed on your custom ill try adding it there on mine to try it out.

So I was working on a mod i have been thinking up for the sierra madre, i went to go work on the casino interior, but when the render window finished loading i only had a stair set, a random square of tiles, and a random hall way with hologram ppl floating in the middle of nothing, i tried to view an item to get it to fix, but that didnt work, i tried changing my "bShowMultiBonds=1" to 0 in the GECKprefs.ini, but that had no effect, and i made sure to do so only after closing the geck completely, waiting from 5 minutes to over an hour and still had no effect at all. I then noticed that it wasn't just the casino, but every building interior in the dead money dlc, and then noticed EVERY building in the geck that has an interior with multiple levels or anything but a flat surface doesn't load completely, if anything more then random wall bits and floor pieces with floating npc's and no misc items or furniture.. I have been all over the nexus forums looking for anyone else in my situation, i only found one other case where the guy had the same problem, but when it apparently worked for others didnt work for him (just like me) but he never got a solution and that thread was a few years old... so im hoping someone has figured this problem out? or knows how to deal with it?? because im completely stumped xP and it would really suck if im forever limited to flat surface interior buildings, but not exterior buildings.. any help is much appreciated, as of this point im totally out of ideas :/ and just to be clear, i CAN see extirior everything just fine i was modding the multiple levels of the ruined sierra madre villa houses and such with no problem, but i CANNOT see any interiors that have a drop down, slope/stairs, or multiple levels like a 2 story house just floating ppl, and random bits of floor or wall if any at all

So im pretty sure this topic is pretty much been abandoned here, but im having the same problem, any exterior with multiple levels (as in a 2 or 3 story building you can walk into from outside without having to goto a load screen) will show up fine in geck, but every single multi leveled interior loads maybe if im lucky a piece of floor about 5 feet by 5 feet (in game charicter comparison) leaving me with floating charicters (only some charicters load) and tons of symbols everywhere charicters should be and every miscilanious item is invisible along with all floors and walls and everything else... i tried the geckprefs solution and tried turning it from 1-0 about 30 times even allowing long waiting periods between them all while the geck is closed but it still has no effect. has anyone found a solution for this problem yet?
