1. Okay, no matter what I do ...

    1. Start a new game from scratch, I earn the Law bringer Perk and the shack is locked.

    2. Deleted the game and started from a fresh install and the same dang thing!

I simply do not understand. Last year 2023 it worked fine. But now, well ...

I have FALLOUT 3 GOTY with all DLC's ... CD version.

  2. Bethesda is proving they have lost any ability to tell stories. There is only so much "eye candy" that one will take in a game ... and then it's deleted, shelved and pretty much done for.

I have several friends that are "... done with Starfield ..." and with the recent earlier this year the massive screw up with an "update" to Skyrim, * I being one of them * ... are beyond frustrated with it. Because it was not really a "bug fix" .. it was to "give us" CC Mods that we really do NOT want ....

I have a seriously bad feeling, with recent history of Bethesda - that Elder Scroll 6 is going to suck and big time. Maybe like history shows, the MOD COMMUNITY will fix bugs ( Fallout 4 ) and such .. but we should NOT need the MOD Community to fix their bugs ... that is Bethesda's job.

  3. Yes ... FO 4 did make $$$ ... but $$ was MADE before all the release of FO 4.

.. This is a sad and common argument, if you are honest. People were honestly hyped with the news of FO 4. I on the other hand was cautious and waited and after it was out ... the fan base was not excited at their money being spent, because at first - the game was seriously BUG RIDDEN!

.. Oh, but that's to be expected! Seriously? What if Ford - Chey and such did cars that way? Yes, a Lemon > NOW AND THEN < get passed, but on whole .. they KNOW THE CAR WILL WORK and do not need 'auto shops' to come to the rescue.

Fallout 76 - does NOT continue to make $$, but they are ".. not laughing all they way to the bank.." Current information that I could find: 2021 - they are just keeping in the Black.

Starfield - is .. not as "hot" or "praised" by honest users. Those not on the Take for $$ or Favors with Beth. I look at both sides .. and honestly, it's NOT the Buzz Word like Skyrim still is. Not even close.

But the point is: Beth is failing in telling stories and having plots. FO 4 = 76 and Starfield are facts of that.

  4. When Fallout 4 came out, it still seems to be going "okay" ... but ONLY BECAUSE OF THE MOD COMMUNITY!!

If there was no mod community, Fallout 4 would have died a slow painful death.

Why - Fallout 4 was the beginning of Bethesda showing they have LOST the ability to tell stories and had to rely on other venues, like importing SIM CITY into the game. Fallout 4 is NOT SIM CITY and even they did not do the Settlements right!

    - How on earth did any of the settlers survive past puberty? Seriously, you look at how dependent and weak they are.

    - Beth did not take into a simple account, "What if the settlements do build a reasonable defense?"

My point here, I had turrets and such surrounding my settlements and Beth in their lack of thinking things through, allowed "Teleportation" of Deathclaws, Raiders, Mutants into the city. IF they had come the normal way ... they would have NEVER MADE IT! Thus Beth did NOT even semi-sorta-kinda-maybe think that one through at all.

    - They made the useable sandbox smaller!

One argument, is that it ' ... is bigger ...' and yes, if you take into account the mass amounts of water space, NOT REALLY USED, but hey, you can go for long swims if you want, I guess!??

I could go on, but my point is, without the MOD COMMUNITY coming to Beth's rescue ... FO 4 would have died.

    FALLOUT 76

This too was no small disaster, if we are honest. It's release actually created LEGAL ISSUES and even now, people are still not happy with it. Beth Bombed and I have friends that subscribed that only go on ".. once and awhile..", because it's "Boring".

    STARFIELD

Well this goes without saying, that this too was a total bomb. The common, paraphrased complaints: Boring, Repetitive, Waste of Time. No real story to "grab you"

    So why all the above?

    ELDER SCROLL 6

I'm concerned that Beth has lost the ability to tell stories, keep attention of the players. I seriously fear with what I have seen and heard about the above, except those who are paid to "Praise" them, that they will bomb this and it will be the MOD COMMUNITY to rescue it.

This is sad ... I mean it. The mod community is NOT supposed to rescue Beth's butt and since FO 4 that is what is happening!

I am very concerned about ES 6. Be ready if it comes out ... to not be surprised if it's ... well ......

  5. It will be a lot of fun to watch ... since Bethesda kept their hands off it ..

It is one Game TV series I actually feel good about .. with who is directing it.

  6. Okay ... not going to like this:

1st - TURN OFF ALL MODS. Do *NOT* uninstall them, just turn them *OFF*.

2nd - Then start a clean, new game.

3rd - DO NOT USE FO4SE. Just use the normal FO 4 loader.

... Does the game CTD / LOCK?

IF the game CTD / LOCKS with all mods *OFF* and it IS a *CLEAN NEW GAME*.

You will likely have to remove FO4 and reinstall it, as something was corrupted.

IF it works fine, and DO play the game for a few hours or so, as go explore the various areas and make sure surrounding cells load and work fine.

IF EVERY THING WORKS FINE ... then you get to engage the P.I.T.A. protocol ... and you will not like it, depending how many mods you have.

I'll check back for your answers.

  7. Okay, is there any way to turn off the "Kill Animation" when YOU kill someone?

What happens, I watch in SloMo .. bullet or whatever hit my target, then get to see them "go down" ... all the while, if there is another Enemy NPC ... he can still shoot and kill. But if the animation is off .... I can take them down too.

  8. Ya, that's my guess too ... but I'm at a loss as to which mod it might be?

I checked out the link to most of my mods and NADA.

So was wondering if someone might have an idea.

  9. Okay, so when I kill someone - or - they get killed by a plasma weapon, I find this "Plasma Entity" that I can "collect".

    > What is it for - what can be done with these?

I tried Google Search and all I get is Plasma Weapons and nothing on this specific, even when I type in:'

Fallout 3 Plasma Entity what is it?

    Anyone know?

  10. Okay ... first off: I am going to post the obvious steps to take.

1 - Did you go and check the requirements and updates and bugs on ALL your mods? And compatibilities and non-compatible??

Suggest you read posts in the mods specific forums and if there is a BUG section, read there also.

2 - You say "random" .. but is there a specific place you are? A specific weapon, armor or such that is being used? Or maybe a combination?

IF there is than make note of it and then double check your specific mod forums for people having similar issues.

Let me know .. I'll be watching and we might then need to go to the P.I.T.A. protocol, which totally sucks BIG TIME!

Well, I currently have 2 major mods integrated into the main quest, the third will be as well.

They would make very little sense outside of the main quest since one is an alternate ending where Father survives, one is an alternate ending where you reform the Institute and spare the RR and BoS. The third I'm working on is a synth roleplaying mod and most of it again makes no sense outside of the main quest (although there is some limited content if you never play the main quest).

.. and that's a 100% spot on and I will be watching for it.

The thing is, which you are doing, make sure the quest / mod has something to do with MAIN Quest and such, otherwise ... there is plenty of room on the FO4 Map to pick other areas not so related to Main FO4 Quests.

Agreed. There should be a reason for it. Makes no real sense otherwise.

& sorry to hear of the therapy. I wish you a good recovery & health!

    Thanks again for the dialog!

Thanks also for the wishes. It will end well .. just amazing how much radiation therapy can and does wipe you out. I had no clue. It has given a whole new meaning to "Radiation Fallout". 😉

I think I'm going to have to start my walkthrough all over again too. Actually, I always look and read carefully everything about a mod when I want to install it, and in general I have a very good collection of mods, with which there were no problems. But apparently, when I downloaded this s#*!, I did it late at night and tired, and at this fateful moment did not pay attention. This "good" author ended up breaking another mod for me first, and after I tried to fix it, he broke my game as well 🙈 It's a pity that on nexus there are so many such mods, which are not moderated in any way, it would be great to have something like a rating system, where shitty mods that have low ratings would be removed from the site

Cannot tell you how many times I've done that very thing, only to kick myself in the butt for doing it! So I totally understand as I have "been there done that" also.

Well, your asking nicely, but the harsh way I made it sound (deliberately I admit) is what the request comes down to.

Doesn't mean I don't understand your wish, albeit unachievable.

... I mean really, that one mod out of your collection simply isn't for you, but others who do like/appreciate the requirement.

If there where no or few mods without such requirement a request for more would be totally understandable.

But to request everybody to, please, stop doing that ... well, I disagree.

Ronin - some explanation. W/out naming the mod - it had needed inventory set in main quest related building, that the MOD had nothing do with specifics of Main Game Quests. Just decided to put in places ... again not related to the main game.

I get it, if a mod is tide to the main quest .. but the mods that I am talking about - are not related or associated w/the main quests in any shape.

Does that make sense. If a Quest Mod is specifically related to a Main Quest ... Hey fine! But if it's not, maybe do not associate with a main-quest, if at all possible?

Does this main sense? Sorry, I'm going through Radiation Therapy and a bit tired and thinking is not 100%. One of the reasons I was / am just playing Quest Mods ..

Thanks! I do appreciate you taking the time to share you thoughts and shows me I DO need to try to be more clear in my postings. 🙂

The thing is, I wouldn't say the mod itself was breaking my game. Everything worked when it was installed, the problems started after I uninstalled it (I tracked it down through my save history), I have a theory that I might be able to get it working again if I can figure out which files in the root folder of the game are responsible for the workshop and replace them with vanilla files (my ideas on this might seem strange to you, but I think it should work), since I think the mod overwrote something and now it refuses to work without it

Well I did read a lot of posts that shared a whole number of problems and issues w/the mod in question ... again, sadly .... that does not speak well for the mod and it's likely reason.

As one person suggested: If you have a prior game before the mod was installed try it, ( though based on my reading the specific posts in the Mod Site in question ... ) I'm not sure that's going to work .. but, yes, give it a try.

I had one person tell me ... he had tried a mod that really had NOTHING to do with setting up settlement quests ... until this mod he tried. Screwed up so he only got three ( Settlement set up quests ) and the rest were locked out. He actually had to do a total clean install of FO 4 , which took him seriously out of his ".. happy place .."

    I can understand that.

But to ask for all mods to be tailored to your wishes, totally ignoring the wishes of others, is the wrong way to go about it. IMHO.

Your post makes it sound for more "harsh" and "demanding" than the OP even suggests.

I stated .. " .. try not to link ..." and I explained my reason. It was NOT as harsh sounding as you made it sound.

So, everybody who likes quests to be integrated or depending on vanilla stuff is out of luck, because you don't like/want it?

mod authors create what they like. You are welcome to play such mod if you like it too, or move on to the next if you don't

Dude, where did I even suggest your statement???

  18. I know you are not going to like the answer:

You will have to start a fresh clean game.

Maybe even a clean install of FO4. < - Try just a new clean game, 1st though.

Something you might want to do in the future - READ THE POSTS and see if there is ( and there is ) any on going, similar and such problems.

There were enough posts that would have warned me: DO NOT GO HERE!
