ok, so for Skyrim, the only thing i really need to worry about is the Video Card. As for the Screen, i was planning on getting something with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. HDMI enabled so i can hook it to my TV while playing games on my laptop. (Cousin tells me i want to find a laptop that supports 1920 x 1080 resolution.) Also, this laptop isnt going to be just for Skyrim, it'll be for a few other games as well. Skyrim is just one of them i'm worried about.

when you say "at least 2gb memory", are you referring to RAM? or the Graphics card? because i'm gonna be aiming for at least 8gb Ram. The Video card will be a different story.

well, i have a decent laptop, minus a good video card. The main reason i'm getting a laptop is so i can take it with me on trips rather then take my desktop computer. Also, i'd like to use a 2nd computer on some online games, however, im not allowed to get a 2nd desktop. So getting a laptop is a good excuse. Thats' 2 reasons why i want a laptop over a desktop. As for the heating thing, i can always get one of those fan pads or whatever they're called for my laptop.

I'd like to get a new gaming laptop, and Skyrim is one of the games i want to play on it. I need to wait for Tax Refund to come in before i can afford one, but the main point of this topic is to gain multiple opinions of what kind of laptop i'll need to play Skyrim smoothly (no lag) on the highest settings. Obviously, my comp atm cant handle Skyrim on high. I have to turn just about everything off/low and have textures on medium to barely play without lag. So can anyone chime in on their opinions of what kind of laptop to look for so i can play Skyrim on high. I'm HOPING to get a laptop at around $1200 - 1500. Like most people, we're hurting financially. I dont see getting a tax refund over 1500. I know people are going to say to get the best one out there, and as i'd LOVE to get it, i cant afford a $3000-4000 laptop. I need the MINIMUM specs to play skyrim on high settings. I think i'll add in my 2 copper coins. I dont know what any one else posted, but due to the 74 pages of posts, i'm too lazy to read every post. So i'm going to put 2 valid reasons why males choose female characters 1st reason (mine): Is the same as most people i'm assuming in this thread. I'm a male and used to playing games with 3rd person view. I'd rather not look at a male's ass when playing the game, i'd prefer to look at a female. My dad joined in Skyrim too, but he prefers first person view and cant stand third person because he's used to those first person shooter games (DeltaForce/Half-Life/Counterstrike/CoD). Hence why he plays male. 2nd reason (my cousin's): He plays almost all the same games i play. He's used to 3rd person view. I dont think he plays females for the same reason as mine. But i do know that he chooses females because they're usually smaller in size then the average male. And he usually plays pvp oriented games. And there's this... idea floating around... not sure if its true or not (I personally believe its true, but i may be misinformed). Its the idea that smaller people are harder to hit/target in combat and thusforth, he prefers to play females. (females are better then males in this concept).

I'm trying to edit some of those '1 piece' armors in nifskope. I cant edit the '1 piece' armors because the parts i want to edit are merged with the rest of the armor. For the longest time, i've been wanting to break up those '1 piece' armors into several different meshes like some of these modded armors are, and i've come across people saying to use blender or 3dx max. I downloaded blender, confusing as hell. one of the guides set to pick up 3dx max to allow import/export with blender. So i got that, and successfully got my file into blender. My problem is i have noooooooo idea what i'm doing in blender. I selected my armor, and looked for a place to break it up into different meshes, and i think i went to the wrong place and went into a different view or something and got lost. Now it wont even load my file anymore. lol So basically, is there any short tutorial video of successfully exporting a file out of nifskope, import it into blender, all the steps needed to separate meshes from a '1 piece' armor, and then export it back into nifskope successfully? without extra tutorials on irrelevant information. My problem is i have a hard time paying attention to 30 min videos of 75% irrelevant information that has nothing to do with my issue. Or, unless someone can type out step by step guide of how i can do it. (for someone who doesnt know ANYTHING of what they're doing)

Ok, you were right. It was a weight problem. PROBLEM SOLVED! Thank you SOOOO much. Btw, i was 80% sure you were right so i felt real good trying it out. :-D Also, if there's bundled trouble shooting thread.. this needs to be put in it. I looked ALL OVER the place googled my head out for like half a week and came up with nothing. Its like there's nothing on this issue. If someone else gets this problem, i dont see how they're gonna figure it out.

You know what? that actually makes sense. I remember reducing my weight from 100 to 99 a while back. Which is about the time things were messing up. However, that doesnt explain why other armors are messing up. I mean, when i use a backup armor, it works fine. But when i edit it and remove a branch, then it goes all screwy again. Anyway, how do i change my weight again? I forget.

I'm getting some really irritating glitches with some armor lately. And they're all modded armor. They worked fine for a while, then out of the blue, they started glitching. Like spikes popping out of the body. Covering most of my screen. I cant see what i'm doing with these graphical glitches and have to remove the armor. And i liked these armors. And when an NPC had the armor on, being the center of the glitch, i had to walk around blind trying to find the NPC (due to the graphical glitch covering the screen, and forcing them to unequip the armor and steal it from them via pickpocket. Lately, i edited a couple armor meshes which caused the same issue. I never used to have these graphical glitches when editing armor meshes, but for some odd reason, i am now. Can anyone help me out? I've tried googling for the answer to my problem, but i've only been finding "cant remove followers default armor" issues. But not the one i'm having. So guess i have to ask on forums. From what i hear, a good way to level up pickpocketing is to steal stuff off a follower. However, the only problem is, i'm not getting the option to pickpocket off a follower. I ask them to follow me, i crouch, and no option to pickpocket. Its as if i'm not in sneak mode. But yet my dad has the option to pickpocket his. Anyone have any idea why i cant pickpocket them?

So my dad ran into a situation. He was doing that thief guild quest to get money from haelga by brawling and she ran for the guards and aggroed them. So he ended up fighting a bunch of guards in town and somehow Lydia became a casualty. So after the mess, he used the console to 'resurrect' her, but she doesnt have the option for her to follow. I'm guessing he accidentily killed her during that mess and i'm assuming she's not happy with him. Is there any console commands to fix this? Reloading game isnt an option.

Oops, forgot about this. I kinda figured it out. Got lucky because it was split. I ended up removing the branch entirely. Lucky me it worked so that armor is working fine now. However, i really thank you for taking the time to help me out. My next project i'm working on has me stumped. I can crop out a part of some modded boots, but the skin is invisible. I dont know what to do to fix it. Same thing with the gauntlets. However, with the chestpiece, the skin isnt invisible. Its like when there's a 'skin model' in nifskope, the mod will work fine, but if there isnt any 'skin model', the skin will be invisible in the game. I cant figure it out.

I'm trying my hand at playing with armor mods, and with a bunch of trial and error (and googling guides), i managed to recolor a weapon from red to green. Now i'm going to try the same process on some armor. However, there's some parts of the armor i'd like to crop out and i'm running into problems. Naturally, before i experimented, i copied my nif file. When i loaded it up, i looked for the 2 dds files that i didnt want in the armor, and i removed them from the texture list, thinking they'll be cropped from the armor. Btw, i was trying to edit the skimpified Daedric armor which someone modded to Ifrit. Was trying to crop out that backbone part of the armor and the furhide type thing around the.. uh.. pants. for lack of a better word. Anyway, i saved the nif file under a different name keeping the original intact, and loaded up CK. Linked the AA to nif, yadda yadda yadda, then loaded up one of the actors to see how the armor change did. Needless to say, failed. miserably. The Backbone and the panty hide was still there, but without the color. It was a Lavenderish purple. Its suppose to be black/red. But its not. Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong?

I'm looking for a color change for a certain bow i have. I downloaded a weapon/armor mod a while back, and i'd love it if someone could change the color to Green. Here's the link to the site with the mod containing the bow which i want a color change on: Ifrit Armor And here's a link to the picture of the armor i want the bow to match: Green Armor in the middle. If anyone can do that, it'd be great. Bonus if you can change the color of the armor to Green also. But Bow is top priority considering i have that Green armor. Edit: Or, if anyone can teach me how, i can try to do it myself. Unfortunately, i dont know how to edit the colors on armor. But if anyone can teach me how to do it, i'd be awesome. Thanx.
