I was reading an article recently about the best hidden secrets in games, and some hadnât been discovered for over 20 years. The tougher secrets eventually got cracked by hackers sifting through the source code and finding lines of code that pertain to the secret. My question is, can game developers fight against this tactic gamers have of hacking a games source code and sifting through it, or is it an inevitability that players will always eventually, if dedicated enough, be able to identify Easter eggs/secrets through this method (or others) that arenât the intended method of discovery by developers?
