  1. ya i believe this was my problem too. IMPROVED PARTICLE SYSTEMS MOD seemed to be the cause although i don't think directly. At first it was a crash in white orchard near the swamp heading towards the Nilfgards. then it was Velen going from hanged mans tree to Novigrad or Oxinfurt. Then finally Crookback bog. all three had three things in common. water, swamps, and DROWNERS. crashes happened any time i got near drowners. probably them jumping around and splashing in the water like they always do like 5 year olds taking a bath, causing particle systems to come into play. i uninstalled the mod and no more crash. my suggestion to the mod author if they read this would be to remove any part of the mod that affects water as it seems to be a direct association with this crash. my guess, more than likely its a bug with the game itself only being effected and causing problems when this is changed. I could be wrong but its my suspicion.
  2. I'd like to state setting mod priority for all of your mods is still pretty important as it WILL affect how your mod files are added to the games directory and thus affect how the the mod scripts are read. learn what kind of mods should override others and how they affect your game and you should have no problem sorting them yourself.
  3. I'm trying to figure out what exactly is crashing my game. I have crash fix installed but unfortunately the crash log code I'm getting is not what I need. I read up about this and from what I understand you can create an skse.ini in the skse folder under the data directory, write in a [Debug] section and under it write Writeminidumps=1. this creates a crash dumps folder under Documents>My Games>Skyrim>SKSE and in it a dmp file with a crash log which can be used to identify the problem mod in TES5edit. I did that but now the problem is I don't have a way to read the file. is there a program or website out there that can read this file? I tried the web page referenced in the forum to read the dmp file but the website is no longer active
  4. JKs Skyrim is definitely my favorite series of cities mods for Skyrim on the nexus. I really took the time to explore each one and all of them were very impressive and yet just simple.
  5. I would also recommend to enable logging in your Skyrim.ini . For this you go into my games under my documents, skyrim, and open the skyrim file. Its the one with the gear next to it and not be confused with Skyrim Prefs, thats something different. It will open in notepad and scrolling down you'll find a section labled "[Papyrus]" and in this section 3 things. bEnableLogging=0 , bEnableTrace=0 , and bLoadDebugInformation=0. Set those values to 1. This enables a log that should appear in your Skyrim folder under my documents so the next time you run your game and it crashes you can go back to read this log and it should help point a finger directly at whats causing your problem at the bottom of this log.
  6. I know this forum is pretty much dead at this point but for anyone that may still be interested i would also recommend LOOT. It pretty much works the same way as BOSS but is more geared towards skyrim. Sometimes just having it reorder your mods can fix all your problems. It will also notify you of any mod incompatibilitys or missing requirements/masters and mods that may need to be cleaned using TES5edit while providing guidelines for that as well
