  1. I just noticed that the mod isn't available for download any more. Why did you remove the mod from the nexus and the workshop? Was it bugged? Was the bug fixed by the devs?
  2. Yeah, I don't just want more action points and more actions, I'd like to try a complete overhaul with some weapons taking more AP than others etc., for enemies and our soldiers alike. If it's possible at all (at least with my very limited experience, coding skills and time), that's probably gonna take quite some work, never mind a lot of balancing.
  3. Looks like this is going to be quite a bit more complicated than I hoped it would be. :-( Kinda expected that after not finding anything in the ini files, though. Gonna have to dig deeper into that. For now, thanks a lot for the pointers.
  4. Hi all. I'm looking for a way to add more action points. The Sectopod has 3 actions, so there should be a way to do this, but I didn't have any luck finding anything in the ini files. Anyone know how I could do that?
  5. Lol I thought I was. Must have accidentally switched back to this forum before posting. :D Thx for letting me know.

  7. The tool should be updated for Beta 15 now. I did not check every description, so some of them might be outdated. I added one new perk ("Tandem Warheads") and updated the perk "Psi Shadow", which is now called "Concealment" and is no longer a Psi ability. However, I kept it with the Psi abilities and did not move Tandem Warheads to an appropriate spot (I added it at the end) to avoid incompatibilities. I will clean things like this up in case one of the future betas includes big changes or once the mod leaves beta. For the time being, this would create more problems than it would solve. Note that Tandem Warheads does not work with versions before Beta 15. I also added a new tool - a base planner: http://xcomperktreeeditor.coffeecup.com/Base_Planner.html It should be pretty self-explanatory and works similar to the Editor. You can plan your base and the tool shows you the power state, your research boost, your workshop rebate and how many satellites the base can support. Since I do not know of a way to let the tool calculate this automatically, you have to tell it how many satellite/power etc. buildings are connected, otherwise it will show you the wrong result. Please let me know if you encounter any problems or know of changes to the mod that I am not aware of. Edit March 11: Added a tool to modify the stat upgrades that are not related to the perks: http://xcomperktreeeditor.coffeecup.com/Stat_Upgrades.html
  8. I updated the tool for Beta 14 and made it faster. Except for the new perks, it is still compatible with Beta 13. The address is of course still the same: http://xcomperktreeeditor.coffeecup.com/ I didn't check every single perk, so some descriptions might be outdated. I also didn't check all of them ingame with Beta 14, but I included all the new perks, so everything should work. Some of the old pages are no longer compatible to the new ones or to Beta 14, but all of them are still available here, in case someone wants to use them or has an old link etc.: http://xcomperktreeeditor.coffeecup.com/Beta13 Edit 13th of November 2014: Changed the link for the old version. Also added replacement pages for the missing ones that link to the converter. I updated those to be able to convert old seed numbers to the new pages.
  9. Good idea, I should have thought of that. Thanks. I had to edit the entry a bit, though. My code is only for EW, not for vanilla EU (that is just a link to the original tool).
  10. I finished my webtool: http://xcomperktreeeditor.coffeecup.com/ (index) I included a page for vanilla Enemy Within and 3 paged for the newest Long War version (0.3 Beta 13) - one for all the perk trees and 2, where I split that up to make it faster (the complete version is running very slow on IE for me). Since I still don't understand the whole code and therefore had to come up with a probably less than good solution, I would still be thankful for any help someone could provide to improve the tool. Just PM me here, if you are willing to do that.
  11. I pretty much managed to do it rewriting Bertilsson's code, but I am stuck on one problem right before finishing it. Without any programming knowledge, I don't see myself finding a solution. Anyone with some experience programming HTML and/or javascript would be of great help. Never mind. I think I've got it.
  12. Is there another way than to look for the exact name of the perks you want and replacing every single one of the old ones per hand? Because in my opinion, that is pretty tedious, especially for the ones with not so obvious names. Of course HEX-editing was even more tedious without the tool, but this way still takes pretty long if you want to replace most of the perks of long war while with a tool like this, you would just need to select the ones you want and then replace the part of the ini file you want. Using the tool as a visual map for Long War EW doesn't work all that well either, since quite a few of the perks have changed or are completely new.
  13. I already asked Bertilsson in a private message about this, but I want to ask here as well, in case someone else would be willing to help me. Since modding perk trees by editing the corresponding file is very tedious, I would love to create a web tool like this one for Enemy Within (vanilla and Long War), but I don't have the slightest idea how to do something like this. Anyone willing and able to help me with that or willing to do it themselves with my help? To explain a bit better - the tool would create the necessary text you could then just copy into the file.
