I've seen this before but just encountered this unsightly bug again, I had just installed a bunch of mods so I thought it must be due to some conflict and went to google it. I tried reloading a save when i first noticed but that changed nothing so after finding nothing concrete in the search results I simply closed Steam, cleared the cache and then did a defrag. When I restarted Skyrim all of the guards (and everyone else) had their torches visible again.

yea, a good staff animation would be cool. I'm having trouble with the dual sheath redux and my staff because when I equip the staff it remains also on my characters back, so it looks like a have two staves, the one i'm using plus it is visually stuck on his back. you know how to fix that? edit: it actually fixed itself after I took All Geared Up off the load order and restarted then made a new save, exited and re-added AGU
