  1. In Fallout 76 the mods mostly consist of BA2 archives, and since 76 has no means to load external plugins you must load these mod BA2 files by adding their name to the archive load list in the Fallout76Custom.ini file. Vortex seemingly doesn't take this step on it's own and so none of the mods load in-game despite them being present in the data folder. The mods will load if you modify the ini file yourself of course, but that's overall more work than doing a manual install without vortex. Is this how Vortex is supposed to work with this game because this doesn't seem right..
  2. Best guess is the mods he's downloading aren't from the nexus. I have the same problem with mods I downloaded from other sites. I'm not sure how to get the download url on some sites to make vortex download mods from them. I also have the same issue with mods I made and installed using the drag and drop function of vortex before I realized that placing them in the hidden download folder would make it associate the archives properly.
  3. Every mod should have install info on it's description tab. If not check out a few other mods and one of them will have the install info. Installation of mods that are ba2 files are mostly the same, with some load order differences occasionally.
  4. I had an off feeling about this game so I didn't preorder it. Not that I ususally preorder games. I stopped doing that when digital downloads came around and stopped the launch day disc shortages that manufactureres used to use to encourage preorders. I did plan to buy it, eventually... when it was cheap enough. It was cheap enough by black friday though, so I bought a copy then. I've been playing it at least 30 or more hours and so far, as far as problems go, it's mostly just been late texture pop-in glitches when I spawn. I think I did have one or two invisible enemies that killed me, but I haven't had that happen in a while so it might be resolved. I had one or two crashes on exit, or instances where it closed the window but the process was still running. Also a few times where it perpetually tried connecting to a server and couldn't. Not enough to bother me, just a handful of times. I did notice something about this that will be a factor for some people and not others. It seems like the game really doesn't run well on slow connections. I play on three different connections depending where I am. At work we have 2mb/s, at my inlaws they have 1mb/s, and at home I have 75mb/s. The game really stutters like it's running at 15fps on the slower connections sometimes. Enemies pop in late, sometimes you teleport or rubberband. It's almost unplayable. On the 75mb connection at home it's smooth and I rarely get a stutter, and only late texture pop in at spawn. I tried playing with the graphics settings to help alleviate the issue but there's no noticable improvement. The game also really doesn't like running on my battery saver profile, even with the graphics turned down. I'm on an acer predator helios 300 i7-7700hq (2.8ghz, slightly undervolted) 16gb gtx1060 6gb. My biggest concern with the game isn't the issues it's having technically, it's the future content updates. I hope they consider creating a DLC that repopulates the world with NPC's to simulate "the rebuilding" after the current main story arc concludes. I'm pretty happy with exploring and looting the game world now, and the quests are entertaining enough despite the lack of living npcs involved in them. I'm not bored yet. So, yeah, it was worth buying at the black Friday price. I'm not sure I'd feel the same if I bought at full price. I think I'd have been upset for sure if I bought the power armor edition that came with the cheaper than expected bag (I don't buy special editions though because they rarely seem worth it to me to begin with).
  5. Same issue here. I tried uninstalling one of the mods I was having trouble with (V's decor was one) and removing the archive and installing the same outdated version of the mod and then attempting to update it within vortex and it still gives me the same error message. Also, when I download the new version it ignores the old version and installs the new one as if the old one wasn't there instead of giving me the update prompt (replace, etc). So to be safe I've been uninstalling old versions of mods before installing the new version. AFAIK that's the safest method for manual updating, correct?
  6. Clearing my browser cache and cookies and unchecking "handle mod manager links" in vortex, restarting it, and rechecking it fixed the issue for me. I also had to re-login here of course.
  7. Same issue here I think. It's telling me "files are disabled for this game" for every thing I try to download, maual or vortex.
  8. I had the same attitude toward vortex because it was also telling me my NMM import was corrupt. Then one day I decided to switch between profiles on NMM (I was using the newest build, not the one on the nexus) and it fell flat on it's face and didn't get up. Completely screwed up everything because it couldn't handle disabling a bunch of mods cleanly. I was forced to do a clean install of the game and all the mods, so I decided to switch to vortex. After watching the vids to learn how to sort plugins and deal with conflicts I had vortex going within a day or so and everything is working better than it was with NMM. I have stuff in the game that I didn't realize was missing before (thanks to the conflict resolution features) and I'm not having nearly as much problems with disabled or uninstalled mods leaving remnants. I have about 240 mods on my FO4 build and not a single issue. I can switch mod profiles and it will disable and enable everything without having a coronary like NMM did. Also now using it for State of Decay. I wish they'd add Stalker mod support (if that's possible).
  9. Is this a vanilla bug or does anyone know if this is related to a certain mod or mod type? I'm in Arcjet and if I'm in the same room as an enemy I get a hitmarker, but if I'm in another room shooting through the open door (or even just an opening with no door) the bullets don't make it to the target. I've never run into this in 1000's of hours of playing this game. I haven't been able to test this in any other locations except arcjet yet.
