  1. (I like bees. A lot. If I was younger I think I'd have had a hive. As it is I plant everything I think they'll like. I like hover flies too.) Out: A map. It's one of those squiggly ones you find in Skyrim and then spend the next few days trying to figure out what it's supposed to mean. Eventually, you find the location, fight half a dozen bandits and manage to evade a bear or two and there it is. The ancient chest that the key opens. Your reward is a rusty iron sword and a couple of purple mountain flowers. In: That's it. The rusty sword goes in! I'm fed up with rusty swords! (Why do Nords attract rusty swords?)
  2. A: I'm fine thanks. Or are you addressing a document? Q: Why do muscles ache after exercise?
  3. @Pagafyr - a welcome back from me to. We'd have missed you! These few surreal threads wouldn't be the same without you. It's interesting you mention a cedar allergy, George. I have a pine one. I had to stop having real Christmas trees in the house because over the years the rash got worse. To start with it would clear up in a few hours and then it started to be a few days! I have hayfever too but it isn't severe. I take something for it on really bad days. It's annoying though as I absolutely love being around plants and I do a lot of gardening. Surely you've missed the blue screen of death... all the adverts and the bloatware and spyware... But perhaps you're so busy with Alsa and sym links that it scarcely registers...
  4. I agree with AaronOfMpls. We'll still be here. Thank you for making me smile and for the insightful comments along the way. I'll miss them. Take the best of care of yourself.

    Ban for Fun

    Ummm. Banned for being speedist.
  6. No I didn't. We did it again. Last time you beat me didn't you? But I didn't notice as I'm old and slow and not very observant. The same thing happened to me a while back - I had what I thought was a brilliant answer but alas, my connection was wonky and by the time I could post it, it was way too late. It will remain unshared. The perfect riposte. I'm all confused...
  7. A: You can but it might be the last thing you study so think carefully. And make a will. Q: Why do snails go so slowly?

    Ban for Fun

AaronOfMpls has got all confused... I'm not surprised. Some of these threads have got me confused too and I was already bewildered... Anyway. Ban him under false allegations or libel or something... or being confused...

    Ban for Fun

Actually you don't - you should call it a rotabagge which sounds a lot better. Henceforth it shall be that for me. Banned. I haven't got a reason yet but I'll get one... Just hold those thumbs!
  10. Out: A young ruddy shelduck. Quacking. In: An umbrella, decorated with daisies and ducks.
  11. A: If you want a train then the best place to go is a railway station (or train station) because trains tend to run on lines (track). If they don't it's usually bad news. However, if you want to train without using a train then you can be train free if you want. You pays your money and you makes your choice - so to speak. Q: Why does hair grow from the root and not from the end?
  12. No need. I haven't bought him.
  13. I haven't played Skyrim for several months. I'm all Morrowind at the moment. And a strategy game called Seven Kingdoms...

    Ban for Fun

I ban George for being obsessed with plants and especially ash trees - hang on I ban me ditto. Anyway, it's not rutabaga - it's a swede and it's nothing like a turnip.
  15. A: Whatever the average is, it's probably mean. And really it depends on whether you are mean and lean or mean to be lean. Or something - it depends on the mode. It's modal. Definitely. And enough is as good as a feast. Q: Talking of Mars. Why are Martian years longer than Earth years? Pssst UsernameWithA9, I said 'years' not 'ears'... Just saying...
  16. How do you pronounce 'margarine' ? Just curious.
  17. Out: An early nineteenth century Spode willow pattern plate of millionaire's shortbread and a lotto ticket with a note saying: You can have your cake and eat it or the lotto ticket - you can't have both. In: A tuber of the dahlia Bishop of Llandaff - I must be mad giving that up!
  18. 1. The second post is free. 2. There's also an issue of bleed between two of the alternate universes and this is one of those moments...
  19. A: Next to where Mariana was digging. Presumably planting potatoes. Q: What makes the sun hot? Whoops... You beat me to it so I'll answer your question as it's an area of my expertise. They use a handful of complex dice. They do three throws and choose the highest scores each time then convert the answer to hexadecimal.
  20. That's good news. I'm very glad. It isn't good when feeling sad. Shoot to raise your archery skill. Hope the bandits made a will.
  21. I've been strimming. It's hot. I'm now tired. I hope your day goes well. I hope some more friends pop in to say hello to you! What do you mod?
  22. It's weird. When the modding community started out (not on here - much much, much earlier), the mods were released in the expectation that we'd help get rid of any blips. There would sometimes be discussion about what needed to be done or if what had been done fitted in with what was there. Things seem to have changed and I've stayed in that cooperative place. I can never figure out if some of the insults are because people are being deliberately nasty or they come from a different planet... an alternative reality that ignored the fact that the modders are releasing stuff free and that software development takes time and resources - all unpaid for. Have a go at the software houses by all means - some of them so deserve it... but someone doing something in their own time and for free. No. Walk away if it's not for you. I especially hate it when attacks are launched on brand new modders... As an aside, the avatar for the site bot is brilliant though! I love it!
  23. A: Yes. There's always been a problem with that part of the simulation. It's because the computer is gradually being moved away from it's old OS. So, at the moment it's using something called Neutron to act as a 'interpreter' between the two systems. There is a bit of an issue with sound though. Sometimes the volume control is way too high. This tends to happen when there are a lot of signals at once - for example The Falls. It's also been known to occur at rock concerts. (I mean rock the music... not concerts for lumps of stone). I'd suggest switching off and on but obviously we don't have access to the reset button... sadly... Q: Why can't light escape from black holes?
  24. Out: Mehrunes Dagon himself. In need of a shave and a hair cut. Luckily, I happen to have Keening, Sunder and Wraithguard (just back from the laundry). I smack him one with Sunder. Stab him in the foot with Keening (he's quite tall and I'm not very big) and he reels back in pain. My dog companion (Cory) bites him where it hurts and he's a wreck, crying for his mummy*. A quick arrow to the knee and Mehrunes Dagon is history and definitely only fit for a museum (I thought the one in Dawnstar would be a nice place). So, there's a spare Mehrunes Razor if anyone wants it. It's sharp. Be careful. In: :The Sword of the Moon Reiver (so that's how it was made!) *double entendre... see Indiana Jones ref above...
