  1. So, previously I used the English version, but some time ago I switched to the Japanese version of Skyrim. Using the "replace .exe files with the ones from the English version after updates" method I'm able to have the newest updates and such properly, and all things like SKSE64 and such work fine. However, I was working on a Character Overhaul, and right now, half my names are katakana and the other half are English names in alphabet. So I've been wanting to translate that, but got the following issue: Trying to load the file into CK with the Japanese installation makes CK crash after it's done loading, without any message or error showing. This also happens on clean installation with only the files needed to make the mod itself work, which I hold in a back-up folder.Switching to the English version of the game (which I also have in another back-up folder) allows me to open it just fine, but whenever I type kana it'll change into question marks so I still can't translate it normally.Windows is set to have Japanese as default language, with display language overridden to English, and I do have proper Japanese support anywhere else, so I can't imagine the problem is outside of the CK/Skyrim unless I'm missing something. What is it with Bethesda supporting Japanese, but not Japanese input (both CK and in-game)? More importantly, how can I properly convert my mod to Japanese so all names are in kana as they should while using CK? I do know about tools like xtranslator, but then I still have to edit all these names (which I did for now, but I will have to do this for any newly edited NPC) whereas opening them in CK with a Japanese installation would save me some work in that regard. I'm not looking to release this as tons of other character related mods are merged into it for compatibility reasons and installation would be more complex than drag and drop into datafolder, so I don't really care much if there is no English version afterwards.
  2. So, I've been playing Skyrim SE in Japanese to practice as I'm learning the language for work (after 2000+ hours I know the game well enough to not have to worry about not being able to truly understand everything, but generally I can find out what it is about and what I'm saying in conversation based on the Japanese I know + knowing the game). I've been studying for 24 weeks now trough a university (fast-paced), but compared to native I'm obviously still extremely on the basics for a lot of things. As much as possible, I've changed my mods to the Japanese version of them. However, I've not been able to find a Japanese version for all mods I use, and some mods are altered or made by me (before I put it to Japanese) to begin with. Now, I know the Japanese mod community does a lot of cool stuff and there are some Japanese modding websites, but I can't always follow everything well enough yet to really get it. I wonder, is there anyone who ever made a program/script to convert English mods to Japanese? Even if it's just something simple that converts names of NPCs to katakana, but the more it can do the better ofc. Or is doing this manually trough CK still the only way to get it all translated (even when it's just simple things like a Character overhaul making half the names English while the other half is still in katakana). Most of my mods only replace vanilla stuff (small changes to gameplay and the description adapted to that, like Custom Fit perk working without a helmet) or alter appearance, I don't really add pieces of gameplay or add new NPCs or dialog, so it's really just names and some very simple/short sentences that I need converted. I think a script might be able to convert okay-ish. I do know of tools like xtranslator, but then I still have to do it manually for the mods that have no translation made. Which in some cases, can be quite a lot of work, especially for something that is relatively simple in itself. I assume there isn't an option like that, but considering I can't always understand the Japanese sites well, I figured it's work asking. If it matters, I do have the latest update, SKSE and ENB running (by installing the Japanese version of the game, renaming the folder, installing the English version of the game, then have Japanese language related files overwrite the English ones). __________________________________________________ On a small sidenote, I noticed that even with the Japanese version installed, I can't type my characters name in kana. Is there a way to make the game support this? It's kinda dumb you can translate the whole game including sound, but no one bothered to allow the use of an IME (using Google Japanese Input, but for something this small I could quickly change to Windows IME if really needed).
  3. I have the full JKSkyrim (original Skyrim with edited solitude fences) package installed. Works fine. Do you have SMIM SE (or normal SMIM) installed? It caused the same crash for me. SMIM is very broken on Skyrim SE, unless you manually check every file and test it, manually install them and see that way if everything works, it is defiantly not reccommended right now for normal NMM or jsut drag and drop everything install!
  4. I've played a lot of RPGs, and a lot of those are older. I love Skyrim to death (played the old version for over 1400 hours) and I would love a interface retexture that would bring more of the Morrowind/Oblivion feel with it. Or just any RPG from arround 2000-2005 feel. I personally would love to keep Skyrims default font and interface (I for one actually like the default interface better then the SkyUI one), but I would love something that looks a bit more old-school (but not ES: Arena oldschool ). I really like this main menu replacer from hellstorm102 (have it running on Skyrim SE now): Also the Lore Loading Screens from 3ClaymoR are nice, but they tend too mess with the main menu replacer for some reason (instead of loading the main menu replacer it first loads the loading screens until main menu is done with loading everything). http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/582/? I would love an entire interface replacer trough, doing all menus and stuff.
  5. I think a great improvement is possible. The RAM allocation and garbage collector is horrible in the old engine, resulting in an impossible to avoid CTD (but it can be delayed with SKSE and ENBoost). Also the max 10GB RAM you can get with ENBoost and SKSE installed just isn't enough. I had to cut down on textures and had to return my uGrids to 5 because my RAM was gone and the game would give me a CTD in 5 to 10 minutes. I don't have 8GB Vram and 16GB RAM to use 10GB of those combined as max... Also, trough ENB looks nicer, the implementation of nicer in-engine shaders makes it far less heavy then injecting this stuff into the engine like ENB does. This means that any effect that we now run trough Skyrims engine instead trough ENB will lower performance cost (as it always did, but now it's more likely people will do it as the difference between the ENB render and the Skyrim render will be smaller). I'm a bit sad in the lack of DX12 support trough, that would have been nice. But then, DX11 is a big improvement from DX9. Hopefully it will make us get rid of blocky shadows more easily, as even ENB can't fix that, just like the striping that can occur when lightning overlaps (with one point trying to render shadows and the other trying to render light). Would be nice if they also fixed the lightning placement in general. Sending light to light sources is ugly. You now have to look away from the light to get the light in your face, and see a shadow if you look at what should be the source. Without mods that is. Next to that this engine was made as a test for the Fallout4 engine (practice with 64bit most likely). As Fallout4 had VR added later on, it would be nice if that would be possible in Skyrim Remastered as well. I don't play fallout as much, so I'm not sure if they have a working ENB and/or script extender, but if they do it may be rather easy to port over as again the Skyrim remastered engine is once made as a practice for Fallout4s engine. EDIT: never trust Bethesda when they say "just works". It wouldn't be the first time it didn't work. Or you couldn't really climb that mountain. Or people don't really have AI, but instead just scripted days that are more then stand in your store all day or walk between these houses. Personally I expect everything based on .esp or .esm files won't work unless proven otherwise. better to avoid disappointment.
  6. I've been wondering for a while, what exactly is the difference between bump maps and normal maps? I know 3dsmax has a tab to add bump maps, but games always use normal maps. Is there an actual difference or are they names for the same thing, because adding normalmaps to the bumpmap tab in 3dsmax works just fine. Also parallax are advanced normalmaps as far as I'm aware, what are the differences? Are they also bump maps? I'm getting a bit confused by these terms now. I'm not working that much in 3D, or digital art in general, I mainly program, I just find it fun to play around with sometimes, but I really wonder now.
  7. I have my drives set up well, first thing to do whenever I start my pc is check if GeForce experience has any notes for me. I guess I could double check Nvidea control panel, but it should be set all good. I'll check it another time trough. I know it's not my CPU, I've checked my CPU, DRAM, VRAM and GPU with MSI gaming app, doesn't always work nice with ENB and may be trown out any time, but when it works doesn't change performance. Just doesn't work half the time. I've put my card into OC mode (which is the highest stock clock it came with). It helped quite a lot. I used to frop to 35 in Falkreath, now i won't come under 50 fps anymore my case should have by far enough cooling to take it. Also resetted the ini files from Skyrim and only added the setting needed for ENB as I know one little mistake in there may kill your FPS. I also have project optimalisation, Skyrim legendary patch. SSME is included with SKSE nowadays, whose ini is all set. LOOT tells me almost anything is clean. I've always learned not to clean official files including DLC, as some mods may accidentally rely on those mistakes and misbehave when cleaning them. Official DLC has dirty edits but none should cause problems when mods are working well and properly installed. The only thing with dirty edits is a patch I will clean it just to be sure. Everything else is fine. I also followed the Skyrim stability guide. If you want CK to run more stable, disable audio in the ini. Not sure why but it crashed far less if you do. Haven't had a crash since while it used to crash after every 2-3 NPCs. If you like, you can add me on steam. It's more easy talking there, and we're getting a bit of-topic now I think.
  8. I feel like modding in very similar with Oblivion. It only became more easy (one misstake in your loadorder would blow that game up, and since we had no BOSS nor LOOT we had to make the entire loadorder our selfs. Thanks someone that is no longer needed!) I get the uGrids to work it's just to heavy. Not sure why I would have a hard time running this all on my 1080 if you have it running easily on a 1070. Do you have any ideas for me here? Everything seems to be working well on my pc, and I checked the card and CPU which the the clock speeds they should, and they both don't run maxed out either. I also had a professional builder check it out for me as it was my first time build, together with my uncle who has build his own pc's for years. I doubt there are hardware problems (like I said, I worked with PCs for quite some time now, but never got the time and money to build my own). Yet I don't understand why I have a hard time keeping the game on 60FPS. Do I really just have to much mods and to high resolution textures? For a 1080? I expected it could easily handle this... I was even planning on high poly headmeshes, but couldn't get them to work so fats and decided it wasn't worth the hassle :o On the other hand, Inquisition with everything on the highest settings also seems to have a bit of trouble, especially in the hinterlands. I told you my specs and most of my mods. I have no texture under 1024, and that is only for some clutter. Al bigger things (and some clutter) have 2048 textures and a few things (not much) has 4k textures. You think those textures may be the problem? I'm making my own NPC overhaul. I like those hair mods, but I don't want NPC's to have anime hair like other overhauls using KS hairdos or Apachi skyhair do. But the basic braids or lose hairs look so well. I'm making my own NPC overhaul using KS hairdos renewal but only using hair that would fit into the world. I base it on inhabitants of Skyrim (if I recall right version 3 had the vanilla hair, that one I use). I haven't played much content mods as I mostly feel the voice acting feels just a bit off, and without voice acting it seemed empty. I still need to play Falskaar, but I never got myself to it. I heard good things about it trough. I just like to expand the cities that are already there, and there where mods to made towns like kartwatsen bigger and gave everyone a house instead of making them sleep outside (which quite feels like Bethesda was to lazy to add some houses for not-so-important NPC's). Otherwise there was this mod giving over a hundred voiced NPCs which people liked, but I personally felt again the voice acting didn't fit quite well and deleted it. I also had this mod which added a lot of dialogs and quests which where finished in CK but for some reason never added in game. It are a lot of small things but I really liked it. For example Utghred had a conversation with the stable master about her travels and a jester on the road starting the quest delayed burial. There has also been an opening scene overhaul uploaded resently with missing dialogs added back into the game, but I don't know if these are also added by the first mod I mentioned. A lot of people also like mods that add the need to eat and drink and sleep and such, I personally don't, but it may be nice for the role playing part. Other wise I wouldn't know. I don't run much of these mods, so it are just recommendations based on what I've heard. Undoubtly you can find these yourself easily as well.
  9. Thanks. I've waited one and a half month to get that 1080, just to cancel it and have to import it from Germany. Let me just get it one by one: How exactly did you get it to run? -Download the newest ENB -Install wrapper version as normal -Delete d3d9.dll -Install the injector version over the wrapper version -Install the ENB of your choice -When you want to play: -Open ENBinjector.exe -Close razer synaps (if you have it running, it really breaks ENB) -Close other monitoring software, like MSI gaming app, a few other examples are listed in the FAQ of realvision and purevision. Do you need to run the enbhost.exe every time? No, you need to run ENBinjector.exe every time you want to play, it replaces the d3d9.dll. ENB injector will open ENBhost.exe. It will give a little pop-up, you can ignore this. Don't close it trough. I suggest pinning it to the start menu. especially since I'm running on a 4k screen Note that I can barely run the above on 1080p 60ghz. Like I said, I tried running with uGridsToLoad on 7 but that was just to much. The videocard can handle more but sadly the engine is a 32 bit engine with memory allocation problems. Trough ENBoost en SKSE can help a great lot, it's not perfect. Hopefully the new engine end this year will change things for the better. but is there any specific way to install everything? I prefer to do everything manually. It's takes a lot of trial and error, but once you've learned to do it it allows you for more mix and match and mistakes will happen less often, as you know exactly what to add where and what you did. As you are more close to your mods, you will know better what you have installed. But it may take a few clean installations and takes time to learn, but when I started modding it was the only option. Seeing you stated you didn't have to much time I suggest you use NMM (unless ofcourse you don't mind putting time and effort in it, then I can only recommend manually), I use it for a few things and it's nice (mods with horrid documentation as if no one will ever do manual (only happend once yet, and it defiantly had to do with documentation from the mods side) and turning mods on and off as Skyrim launcher may reset some of my settings in my ini files). Mod managers should be simple, not to much overwhelming stuff, my favorite is still OBMM for sure (which was oblivion exclusive). Further just make sure you read all descriptions well. If you have an heavy set-up you want to make sure no mods are in the way of another, so keep track of what you install and make sure it all works together well. And ofcourse read FAQ and comments. They'll tell you a lot. In fact, just read everything and first one or two pages of the comments, it's there for a reason. Also, are there specifics to any of those mods? Well this is just really the part where I mix and match. It's mainly a personal choice, together with the fact that no clutter texture mod seems to have a clutter. So this mod is missing this, while that mod is missing that, so if I put them together I have everything. Next to that, all personal choice. I like the RUSTIC series, and ruins clutter improvment with that one. Ofcourse SMIM will run next to it and have a lot of clutter as well. I know that's a lot to cover and a lot of questions, but so far you seem to know a bit more than other people I've talked to It's no problem. If I didn't want to get questions I shouldn't have went to the forum. I have been modding since the time BOSS wasn't a thing and we didn't have mod managers. Back in the time Oblivion was the best thing in the world. Perhaps that's why I know a bit more. Been in it for a long time. And don't forget, if something is almost what you want, but not entirely, you always have creation kit to fix it. Just turn of sound in it's ini file to inprove stability a lot, and check UESP for other tweaks needed in the ini file to load al DLC and block all those thousands of messages (of course it overrides file CK, why else would I have a NPC overhaul mod...)
  10. I had ENB problems as well. ENB doesn't work well yet with the GTX 10** series sadly. You can make it work by installing the wrapper, deleting d3d9.dll en replacing it with injector version, which you need to open every time before Skyrim. Disable Razer Synaps if you have it and any other monitoring software (like msi gaming app for example) and start a new game. THEN everything should work with any ENB. The half black screen has a fix on realvisions mod page btw, you need to change something in the one of the inis ^^. I just got a new rig as well, I've got a MSI GTX1080 Gaming X on gaming mode (base clock 1683 MHz, boost clock 1822 MHz) and a i5-6600k, 2 time 8GB DDR4 RAM, 250BG SSD and a 2TB HDD (Skyrim on SSD), windows 10 pro and an MSI tomahawk AC mortherbord. I run the following: -Truevision ENB (with some edits to gamma and brightness, no DoF) -Dinavision (for dept of field that is not only pretty but also nice to play with) -Vivid Landscapes (all 2K textures) -superior rock textures (lighter vanilla textures, together with the stone quarry and clay quarry mod) -Climates of Tamriel -Amidianborn weapons and armour and special item on full resolution -SMIM -lot of HD clutter textures and improvement mods -Bellyaches animals textures -some bigger rain textures -purewaters -and handmade NPC overhaul roughly based on vanilla version of -a LOD overhaul -JK skyrim -Skyrim Bigger Trees -SkyTEST (with some additional tweaks found on the nexus) -Verdant (because who doesn't want grass to be so full you can t see the ground, density at 60) -AURORA -SKUI with SKUIaway -racemenu -UUNP with high poly UUNP armours and clothing and exeters UNP base body armours and clothing -Mature skin texture young edition -Coverkhajiit -rustic children -CBBE-CHSBHC-UNP-ADEC-Human Argonian Khajiit Texture-4096 (only for female beast race textures, using coverkhajiit as head) -some high poly hand and feet meshes for woman -Superior Lore-Friendly Hair - HD textures -Maevan2's eye brows -The Eyes Of Beauty -Some warpaint and dirt textures -Better Vanilla Hairs - Mesh Replacements -KS hairdos renewal (I don't like anime hairs but it has quite a few that fit into the lore. It's why I'm making my own NPC overhaul, I want the lore fitting hairs only to be used) -Enhanced Lights and FX -True Wolves Of Skyrim -rustic clothing -SkySight Skins - Ultra HD 4K and 2K - Male Textures and Real Feet Meshes (with the meshes obviously) -a lot of other textures so everything in game is retextured. This are only my most important mods. I have many other mods like unofficial Skyrim patches, run for your lives. And don't forget SKSE ^^. I run mostly on 60fps. BUT I tried running it with uGridsToLoad on 7 and that is just a little bit to much (fps between 30fps to 80fps depending on where I am). You might want to ditch a few and not have the whole gaming running on screen archery set-up (with high poly meshes and 2k to 4k textures everywhere, and a few 1k on really small objects) as you have a 1070 instead of a 1080, but it might give you an idea what to look for. I may have tweaked and edited a few small things here an there. I install everything manually, as I find it more easy as I know exactly what files I'm using and adding/editing and it gives me more free dome, but I had to learn it when I modded oblivion in the time before mod managers and sorting software, once you spend so much time learning manual it gives you more control, but as you said you don't have much time, I suggest using a mod manager. I personally like no-anime, lore-friendly, realistic mods, so that's what you can expect with this.
  11. I've got my first game PC build a few days ago (but been working in IT for a while, just didn't have the money apart to build one myself yet). I got a GTX 1080 and I still can't run all mods together I want (I might love playing with high end screen archery mods to much) and I'm playing on simple 1080p, 60ghz. Dragon age Inquisition also has a few places that may give problems with all on ultra, few mods (like the Hinterlands crossroad, has a hard time staying 60fps). However, thanks to the horrible availability I have payed 812 euro for that videocard, still worth it trough. If you live in the USA or any other country where the new guards are properly available, I would defiantly look into the GTX 1070m which should cost around 450. However, if you live in a part of the world where they aren't being imported enough and you can only pre-order them you might have to pay 650 euro. for that price you have a 1080 if you live in a country where it's properly available. I personally really like my MSI gaming X, but it's one of the more expansive models of the card. Don't get a founders edition/ reference card GPU. The customs cards are often cheaper and run better. better coolers and stock clocks, together with better possibilities for overclocking. I also would take a look at the i5-6600K, which is a nice CPU for gaming and (ad least in my country) a lot cheaper then any comparable i7 CPU, making it the best thing price/performance CPU. Perhaps a small SSD with max 250GB together with a 2TB HDD would also be a nice option. Run windows from the SSD for fast boot and faster windows and play games from the HDD. Works just as well and gives you a lot more space then 500GB SSD. (if you have a 250GB SSD you can have one game with your windows if you really play it a lot, but I don't really notice much difference between gaming on SSD and gaming on HDD). I can defiantly agree on the 2x 8GB DDR4 RAM. It's nice and right now all you need for the games that are out on ultra. Should be able to run games for the time to come. As a last note, if you take a gtx 10** card, make sure you're case is big enough. I haven't checked for you, but the GTX 10** tends to be a little bit big. I can't say for sure about other manufacturers cards, but my MSI card is not only long (27,5cm) but also a little bit thicker then an average card. Mine wouldn't fit in my uncle's mid tower. As another last note, if you would take a i5-6600K, don't forget to buy a new CPU cooler, as nowadays, no CPU-cooler is delivered with K versions of these CPUs, as they are intended to be able to be overclocked, and the stock cooler can't handle that anyways. Doesn't say you need to overclock them trough. I don't know to much about motherboards, cases and power supplies, so I won't be able to help you there to much, beside my own experiences with what I have (MSI Tomahawk AC, Aerocool XPredator, Coolermaster 750W power supply). I'm sorry for any bad English, it's not my native language and normally I'm doing my IT work in Dutch as that's where my job is, so I may be typing a bit horrible. Dyslexia also doesn't help. Perhaps your budget would be nice to know for better help.
  12. Sorry for late reply. Does it also allow me to look over the shoulder from my character while playing like you did in Skyrim? I'm using the first person camera mod zoomed out one bit to archive the closer view right now, and the closer conversation mod (which I actually use to zoom out) to make sure conversation stays in 3rd person, but I can not watch over my shoulder witch is it making it a bit harder to see stuff as I stand in the way for myself.
  13. If you're still looking (I know it's old): First name unknown, last name Mallory. Yes the same as Delvin's. Delvin turned out to be her uncle, Glover Mallory is her father. She named herself Saphire as a kid as she loved picking up shiney rocks. This was before the atack on the farm, which is why her farther called her Sapphire in the note. If you wanna know something, always check UESP. Elder Scrolls Wiki is not relaible, I have found misstakes in lore and gameplay. UESP is frequently checked and only allows confirmed imformation on it's pages. Speculations may be added to the talk page trough. UESP also allows official books and even anouncements from Bethesda as proof to lore, so not all information may be found in-game. As long as Bethesda confirmed it, it is good (and zenimax for ESO ofc). Only exceptions are bug fixed by unofficial [enter game] patches, as they're fixes are written as fixes in the bug section. because it is confirmed in-game that it's not ^^.
  14. A bit late, but if anyone searching google and find this or anything. It turned out to have to do with some meshes from some trees.
  15. So I'm a big Elder Scroll fan, and now I'm playing inquisition. It a great game, but what anoys me is how far I have to stand from my character. Is it posible to make a mod that chances the normal camera to a camera that zooms in more? Like the max zoomed in camera in Skyrim's 3rd person? I tried it with a cheat engine table I found, but it did not work, further I could only find a mod for conversation, with which I have no problem and a first person mod. Is it posible someone around here could make this? For now I'm working with the first person mod zoomed out one bit, and the closer conversation mod with settings at 18 to keep conversation 3rd person. However if anyone could make this in one simple mod, on a way that the character is a bit to the side like in Skyrim (I'm seeing a lot less because I'm in the middle now), it would be most apriciated. Many thanks already, Jessica Below is a picture of the Skyrim camera I mean. http://i.ytimg.com/vi/Y4P-hyP5ucE/maxresdefault.jpg
  16. Hello, Every time I play Skyrim it gives me CTD. However t ain't random, instead, it is at certain points, and I can not get rid of it. When Alduin flies up from the wall in the tutorial I automaticly get a CTD. Also, just after Ralof kneels after escaping Helgen I get CTD. It is continuously giving CTD's at the exact same spot with the exact same event. I just don't get it anymore . However, the place and event causing the CTD does seem to be save-bound. On one save that CTD may be when Alduin flies fro the wall, the next save may be Ralof kneeling for Alduin to fly over, next save may get it on an entirely different place. However, on that save, the circumstances stay the same, making me unable to finish that quest or find that place. I've been googeling and trying to get a solution for a while, but I can not find any. All results on google are random CTD's, and mine are at constant places, or problems with hardware. I know my PC can take Skyrim, I have been playing at these settings for the last 1,5 year. 17. Any chance it may work on American keyboards? We Dutch people use those (and Americans too, I suppose, maybe even more countries). If we type right alt+L it becomes a ø but Skyrim just gives me a l. I wanna give my nord character a nordic came, but it seems I can't use the ø unless I buy a Scandinavian keyboard (I heart those had a ø button), which isn't really an option... EDIT: Never mind, just chanced my keyboard setting to Norwegian ^^. When I now typed a ; it became a ø . EDIT: don't never mind. When I enter the name with a ø and finish race menu, character keeps in race menu mod and game doesn't move away from my face, making it impossible to anything. It act as if racemenu is still on, but the menu itself is gone.
  18. I would really like to use the UNP body with the SWF bikini that came with it in bbp, and some vanilla replacers like Exeters but then with bbp. Or a CBBE body with underwear bpp and vanilla armor replacers with bbp, Caliente's aren't compatible with bbp. Really everything around is half naked, and I've been searching everythere. I found UNP bodyslide, and it could make the bbp body with bikini, but not bbp versions of exeters armor, only standard versions :(. I'm quite disapointed. In Oblivion, I used HGEC E-cup normal hips, with bbb and underwear and basic vanilla armor (adapted to this shape) with bbb. For Skyrim this doesn't seem to exist, not for UNP nor CBBE, only skimpy variants have it... I know its a lot of work, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would love this... Of course, heavy armor such as steel would not be needed, metal doesn't bounce...
  19. Yes you have. It was only against notmyhome. This topic wasn't about why to or not to use USKP or about cheating and exploiting bugs. I had tried this. -I have installed all unofficial patches besides high resolution texture pack (I only exported the male normal maps out of the .BSA to prevent blocky faces, and further deleted all files from high resolution texture pack, so I don't think I need that one. -I ran LOOT, just in case (BOSS updated last week, but you'll never know if LOOT knows more, so I used LOOT). -I disabled any mod that had to do with falkreath or Lakeview Manor, just in case. -I started a game from the beginning, made it fast through the tutorial without any cheat or console. -Close to Whiterun the courier found me again and gave the same letter, a second or two after Aela spoke to me by the Giant. I do have a legal copy of Skyrim Legendary Edition installed. I bought the disk in a local game-store and activated it on my Steam account. I highest download a game to try, I play tutorial levels and if I like it buy it, if I don't I delete it and never touch it again. I know Skyrim may gives many bugs when downloaded. My trial version couldn't open the data tab in the first menu, disallowing any mod using a .esp or .esm file. By that, a good game deserves it's money, and Skyrim certainly does (just as Morrowind and Oblivion which I bought on Steam). Also, with Steam's SummerSales, price is no excuse not to buy games legally ^^.
  20. It's not that I'm looking for cheats (if I wouldn't want that I'll download godmod items or make myself unable to die with console ). I don't search for bug I can use. Its just when I'm playing a way to buggy game, I try to find something I can't, and I find on UESP a mine full. I travel to there, after 20 minutes spend on walking thinking I can finally get what I search, I find out it ain't what the UESP said it was. Then I see at the bottom on the page small letter (USKP addressed this, making them iron veins...) It was frustrating... I had a few experiences like that, so the patches annoyed me, and in a frustrative feeling I wanted to delete them. I never really bothered downloading them again later. And to be fair, I haven't experienced more bugs without USKP then with... All bugs I had weren't included in USKP anyways, so I needed to use console for those even with USKP. I have them installed by now anyways... Who knows, maybe it'll prevent a bug I actually would have noticed . By that, can't hurt my stability ^^. But... Can we stay by the topic, me being randomly the Thane of Falkreath...
  21. The problems with the unofficial patches was that every time I could finally make use of a bug it was fixed while I had many other bugs that weren't, and it annoyed me. Like there where these mines, called iron ores by the people who live there, but they actually were eboney ores in look and use, USKP made them into iron ores, while I was searching desperately for ebony and the places I knew where depleted already... I know they are good. UESP tends to name them if they fixed a bug, so I read many things it has fixed (lot of those things are fixable with console too trough, just make sure you know what you do ^^). But Anyways, I tried now to add the unofficial patches and again to delete mods editing lakeview manor or Falkreath in any way, started a new game, but the courier came again. Any other idea's :ermm: ? I also sorted everything with LOOT this time, just in case (It's slower the BOSS  )
  22. I had them in the past, but had a few problems with them, soon I noticed that it's impossible to keep a proper save when deinstalling as they seem to alter many scripts. I try not to use them if possible. Also, this problem didn't exist in the past, it came long after I stopped using USKP (and those of the DLC) and I also can't seem to find the problem somewhere else on internet (found one similar thing on a UESP talk page, but nothing but a comment he had it). If UESP or UHFP would fix it, shouldn't it be a more commonly problem? I'm just wondering. IF it fixes it I would install the needed patches, but due to the problems I had with USKP I would prefer not to have to install it, especially because I can't de-install it when it doesn't help. Also, I sort every time I have chanced even the most minor thing with BOSS, but only before I go play the game. I was now trying to fix it, so I waited until I had a fix or tried all mods I could think of that made this happen. I shall try if USKP en UHFP fix it, Trough I fairly hope it's a mod in my modlist O_O.
  23. You sure that's needed? I saw BOSS updating it's masterlist last week... I really like BOSS because it works for multiple games (like Oblivion) and I have very little space on my PC, so multifunctionality is a pro for me ^^. Also, where should I look to downlaod, when I google, I get tons of mods that alter the looting system in Skyrim.
  24. Okay, so every time I start a new game I get this letter from a courier telling me there is a plot for sale in Falkreath to build your own home on. Oddly I'm lvl 1 and the letter is not supposed to be delivered until lvl9. But that's not the big problem, just part of it. The problem is, as soon as I go to Falkreaths Jarls Longhouse, Rayya comes towards me saying she's appointed to be my housecarl. Suddenly I'm Thane without doing anything but escaping Helgen. The Jarl is also acting as if I'm Thane, making it impossible to gain the rewards of the quest needed to become thane. Most annoying is, ever since I have this bug, I also don't seem able to move with anyone into Lakeview Manor, as if the game doesn't recognize it as a house, while the other houses from heartfires are... Any idea what mod may be causing this? I tried disabling all mods related to Lakeview Manor, and load a save from before the courier finds me. Not sure if it helps, as the courier is probably searching for me since I left Helgen... Anyways this way the courier would still find me and gives me the letter, which starts the BYOH quest from Falkreath... I have tried to delete heartfire's files and let steam download them again, to make sure the DLC isn't broken, but that didn't work. I recently installed Skyrim on a new PC and I've got the bug again... 25. Okay. We all know that the latest Skyrim patch (1.9) had killed lipsync to be half a second of time right? a very annoying bug. As I have not heard it being fixt, I suppose its my screwing around with files that has done the trick lol. First I used to use a High Poly head mesh for females, but I deleted it. It gave ugly neck seams, and it seemed to just not fit on the CBBE body (while vanilla is fine). I remade my character using the console command showracemenu and everything seemed fine. Seemed... I talked to the female blacksmith in Whiterun, her mouth didn't move and her face got blurry. I thought it just got blurry cause of hot air from the forge. Then I went to my home breezehome. I went to the cellar where Lydia was. But when I came close, her mouth stayed shut and her face got blurry, while not having a forge anywhere close. Soon I started to realize all woman of skyrim went on doing telekinesis way of talking. AS any idiot having trouble with f***ing up there game, I went googling. All I found where people complaining about how Skyrim patch 1.8 0r 1.9 made the lip sync delay around half a second from the actual words, a very annoying problem. With the head, came some custom files to make the morphs work. Cause not knowing what else to do to fix it, I replaced the facial one (femalehead.tri) (the morphs in the character creator worked fine anyways). I also unpacked all .tri files from the Skyrim - meshes.bsa file, as these contain morphs either. Without many hope I restarted my game... It was fixt! I was happy as the woman gave up their psychic powers to talk more regular with me and each other again . BUT WAIT! THERE IS MORE! Men and Woman seemed to open their mouth when they talked, instead of afterwards. And when they silenced, their mouth closed instead of moving their mouth in silence. The only annoying bug I ever had in Skyrim seemed fixt. Now I will not link to the high poly head mesh I got a file from, as its by a modder who stole her stuff from DAZ3d makers. When I downloaded it, I did not know. The link I used (to an English translated version) is dead anyways, and was on a site that may not be named, or linked to, for its content. But if you happen to be in possession of this mesh, or evilly know how to get it, and if you're annoyed by the lip sync problems caused by (one of) the latest patch, then you know that somehow, this might fix it. I can not guarantee anything. I am no modder, have no experience with these files either, just a random person who seemed to have accidentally fixed an issue where she heart lots of complaints about and haven't heard about a fix.
