I also came across a slaughterfish on dry land, it was flapping around in mid air whilst I was on an island in the river attacking me. I drew my sword and belted the thing sending it violently flashing into the sky never to be seen again lol

Thankfully I passed when I was prompted then!

Try one tweak for the first problem. This happened to me too while playing Skyrim, even on win 7. Thanks for the tip... I have actually found the problem is caused by the Raptr AMD app running in the background, it was installed when I updated my drivers for w10. Once its turned off Skyrim runs properly so to confirm Skyrim runs fine on windows 10 for me also :-).

If you have legendary edition I'm pretty sure it is the latest version of the game and doesn't need patching as its already there if that makes sense. I have legendary edition on steam and its up to date including all the DLC without having to do anything but download and install the game.

I upgraded from W7-10. For the most part the game runs well but there are a few issues/quirks that annoy me... For example randomly the game minimises to desktop during play, this can be after 5 minutes, in a few hours or it may not happen at all. But when it does its impossible to get it back to full screen or get proper mouse control back (Windows mouse pointer is visible off centre from skyrim one during play). Sometimes the game boots up with the windows task bar across the bottom of the screen and then the same things happen... I cant get proper mouse control or get rid of it. Other than those issues which never happened before on win7 the game runs no problem and I have around 60 mods installed. Sorry forgot to say Skyrim on win10 for me always crashes on exit as well but its 90% only when I quit the game... its annoying but not serious problem as I'm exiting the game anyway lol.

My first Elder Scrolls game was Skyrim so for me that's my favourite, prior to that I had played some Fallout 3. I tried Oblivion but I couldn't really get into it... I think its just the interface for Skyrim is more intuitive for new players and more stylised/mordern graphics. I always play older games as well, and graphics are not the most important to me so I will give Oblivion another shot in the near future. Also recently bought Morrowind GOTY from GOG.com and played it briefly to test it on my PC with the overhaul mod. I was instantly impressed with the atmosphere of Morrowind within the first five minutes of playing and took to it very quickly so its defiantly high on the list to have a proper play through assuming I can find time!! I would play it now but I'm halfway through a re-play of Skyrim and will probably get Fallout 4, also Cities Skylines expansion comes out soon. Recently finished Witcher III Wild Hunt which is another great game I loved, I got the sad ending though which I won't spoil here... I needed to play Skyrim again to cheer me up!

Pretty much the same for me re-playing Skyrim at the moment before Fallout 4 :-). Trying to remember all the mod's I had installed before I built new pc was a challenge as I had so many installed. Only downside is the game isn't as stable on windows 10 for me and tends to crash more often, but I'm loving my return to Skyrim.

BTW there is a Fallout 3 GOTY edition (not mine lol) with all dlc on ebay.uk for £4.98... maybe worth a look? Thats a shame :-(... Typicall I have Skyrim on PS3 and followed the forums there when PS3 users had issues with the game on that console. I had heard some storys of beth not responding or not being very helpfull. Guess this shows they are not a very helpfull company and don't respect there customers too much! Well it was worth a try I'm sorry they didn't help you, Stardock on the otherhand seem to have very good customer support Beth should learn a thing or to from them.

Maybe a friendly request to Bethesda for a steam key? I had a game Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity retail but I needed to patch it and update it, the only way that could be done was via Impulse (a closed down online service). I contacted Stardock after trying the same as you by adding it to steam and it not working. Stardock where happy to give me a key for steam which I used to download the latest version on Steam. Not sure if Beth would be as accommodating but its worth a try lol.
