  1. See what you guys think. Some of you guys aren't arrow key users so it's a non-issue for you, but for us arrow key users, it is a minor annoyance that only Bethesda could fix. Figured I'd contact one of your company representatives directly, something I find to be a minor annoyance in Fallout 4 that only the company could correct in a patch. So I'm a guy who uses the arrow keys, always have been always will. You guys patched the game to allow this for arrow key users. I have to do a lot of rebinding of the keys when I switch around from lets call it "Settlement building mode" to "Combat mode". One of the minor annoyances that only your company can fix in a future patch update, is when I want to build a settlement, I have to esc out to the control settings and bind my keys WASD, since the arrow keys are automatically reverted back to picking through options in building things for the settlement. It helps a lot to actually be able to move around when settlement building and scrapping and stuff. In a future patch, would your company consider making it so WASD is how you pick through building things for "Settlement building mode", and arrow keys is still how we can move our character around so I do not have to continuously bind and rebind my keys throughout my playthrough?
  2. They seriously need to get rid of 7lb missiles though. Make them reasonable, not 7lbs. I don't even collect that ammo, because as soon as I do, I need to immediately hike back to my main base and drop them off in case of some future event where I need a rocket launcher. Grenades and mines are much more viable than rocket launchers atm. I'm not going to use any heavy weapons this playthrough probably until something is done. Earlier today I was playing in the early game, the assault on the Museum of Freedom, I must have burned through 500 rounds just killing the gristle and all the raiders before the Deathclaw finally showed up. Thankfully my character died to a single swipe, so I reloaded and made sure to save the minigun just for the deathclaw instead of using it up on the gristle and the raiders. THe gristle was the EPITOME of a "bullet sponge" just for being a raider with higher health.
  3. First I'd like to say that I became a gun enthusiast in part because of my love for video games. Using guns in games got me to go out and actually buy a firearm since, well frankly put, they're actually a lot of fun in real life even if you don't use them for killing which I don't. (I don't even keep my handgun around for self-defense, just keep it locked in a gun safe as the idea of me killing another animal or human being does not sit well with me at all). I mainly get shitfaced drunk with my old man in the Sonorran desert with mine and blast beer cans when I'm having fun with my family's gun collection. So anyways, after a few years of perusing gun forums and gun sites, and going out and actually using my firearm, with dreams of buying more, I am a bit disappointed in video games these days that don't seem to be made by actual gun enthusiasts. So even I added a laser sight to my handgun (Beretta M9 with Crimson Trace laser handgrips), and it's pretty cool. I once reskinned the glock in Counter Strike 1.6 to have a laser sight that was actually somewhat useful but not quite cheating. Why doesn't fallout 4 have these types of attachments for weapons? They got the bayonet attachment, but what about red/green laser sights, barrel shrouds, flash lights mounted on picatinny rails, vertical hand grips, collapsible folding stocks, Armor Piercing rounds, Full Metal Jacket rounds, Jacketed Hollow point rounds, birdshot, .00 Buck, 12 gauge slugs, things like the ability to tape two magazines together one up and one down so reloading the 2nd magazine is very fast and easy. There is so much more to guns than what most games these days offer and for all my play throughs my character is very gun based, I'm hoping the mod community can help out with this some day, currently just a few mods have added important firearms in firearms history like the M16A2 and AK47.
  4. Well I'm going for a leveling up fast build right now including clothing, my opening SPECIAL stats, which so far I like it a lot and has made the game pretty enjoyable compared to my previous build which leveled significantly slower. STR - 1 PER - 5 END - 1 CHR - 5 INT - 10 AGI - 1 LCK - 5 I grab the "You're SPECIAL" book, plug a point into CHR since I like mastering speech skill checks, as soon as I reach level 2 I get Idiot Savant, and as soon as I grab the PER bobblehead, I put 1 perk into Night Person for the + 2 Intelligence. Oh and I try to find an Ushanka hat ASAP, lucky for me the dead militia man at the foot of the museum in Concord had it. I think there might be one in that bombed out building west of the Corvega Assembly Plant. Right now I just need to find the Road Goggles so I can boost my INT even further. Any ideas on where to find them?
  5. Ok so based on my research, I must sacrifice Ballistic Weave in order to get Liam's Glasses for +2 INT perk. I really don't care THAT much about getting 2 extra points in INT if I can find a different set of glasses that will give me 1 extra point INT on my new character. So Road Goggles, only eyewear in the game that boosts INT with that perk as far as I can tell where I don't have to sacrifice The Rail Road in order to get it. Where do I find these glasses? 100 hours of game play (mostly in the early and early mid stages of the game) I'm now on my 3rd character since I bought the game and I have yet to find them. I hope they're not all but unobtainable but for a super lucky spawn. Boost Luck maybe early into my playthrough so maybe they'll spawn? Help me out here. Also as a side note, you can get usually crappy armor, but fortified with +1's in certain stats of legendary enemies. You could potentially boost your INT quite a bit if you got some of these lucky spawns and were willing to wear the otherwise usually shitty armor that comes out of legendary enemy spawns in the game.
  6. Turns out it's a suppressed immunity warning. Now I need to figure out how to get my immunity up.
  7. I took addictol, no change. I then took 1 of every chem I had no change. I can not figure out how to get rid of this pill in my HUD that is affecting my carry weight.
  8. I'll try to get some addictol but so far I've taken no chems into this build.
  9. I can't figure out how to get rid of this thing. So when you need to drink a drop of water icon shows up, when you need to sleep, a bed comes up, when you need to eat a fork and knife shows up. What I have is a "pill" that is now red, meaning it's affecting my stats, and most importantly my carry weight which has already been halved in the new survival mode. I can't sleep it away, I can't eat it away, I can't drink it away, I tried taking addictol, that didn't help and no I don't think I'm addicted to any chems, does anyone have any idea what the pill in the HUD means and how do I get rid of it? Oh I tried anti-biotics too, nothing seems to work it appears at getting rid of it.
  10. I'm somewhat of a gun enthusiast and so I got ideas for games with guns that rarely gets implemented. I feel my idea would add both realism and immersion to gun fights. In a real gun fight I would think you would be rarely if ever drop a magazine and leave it on the ground just to reload a new one. You would not fire off 5 rounds and automatically reload with a fresh magazine when you still got 25 or say 45 rounds left in the magazine. To actually load a magazine with bullets it takes time. If you shoot all the bullets in all of your magazines, it's going to take some time to reload them back to full again before that gun is locked and loaded again. Reload times should be slower, most people are not gifted like in video games at rapid reloading of magazines. When you craft a magazine it should be just one magazine, not an infinite number and always having one that is topped off ready to get into the fight. Again I think if we focused on these aspects of actual reload times, loading bullets into a magazine, and limiting how many magazines so that we can not always load up an infinite supply of topped off magazines this has potential to make the game more realistic and immersive in gun fights. One last thing, get rid of the oddball magazine capacities. I can't list any immediately but the pipe rifle with a drum magazine holds 48 rounds, drum magazines usually hold 50 rounds not a weird number like 48. Future mods? Gun maintenance (like in new Vegas) and gun cleaning. Make the guns act like their real life counterparts.
  11. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Da9TCmjWHPs&feature=youtu.be I made a youtube video of me following the tutorial and it not installing, see if you can get anything off of this.
  12. Usually when I've installed ENBoost in the past, bright red text would appear in the top left corner of Skyrims opening screen. After 2 attempts at install, and even redownloading the game and doing it again, this does not seem to be happening. FIrst I did Gopher's tutorial and SkyrimPreference/ENBlocal.ini tweaks, on top of that I pulled up Slothability's ENBoost install tutorial and did his Skyrimpreference/enblocal.ini tweaks as well. No red text. all the key programs are installed, enblocal, enbhost, d3d9dll, however no red text. I'm thinking whats going to happen is if unless people can come up with a solution, I will continue modding skyrim and hope that enboost is in fact installed and won't see multiple CTD's as I usually run in the area of 200 mods in my mod list when I run Skyrim.
  13. I'm level 47 on skyrim legendary difficulty, granted I only have about 194 armor rating with my shield, but with a mod that also gives enemies smithed weapons which further drastically ups the damage they do to me, I often get 1 shot killed or one hit killed by Bandit highway men or better, and I'm several hundred hours into my current character. Fallout 4 is a joke to me though. Some legendary enemy dropped a pipe rifle that does 25 bleed damage PER SHOT. I promptly smithed it with a drum magazine, an upgraded barrel, stock and fully automatic receiver and scope. This thing is ridiculous. WIthout dropping a spoiler there's this level 50 enemy in the vicinity of where the freedom trail starts. Everyone rants and raves about how hard he is for a fight, and I admitted with regular weapons he is difficult since he has so much resistance to regular ammunition that I used. But this 25 bleed damage PER SHOT fully automatic pipe rifle dropped him in I swear to god less than 30 seconds and I was only level 18. Sure the regular bullets don't do crap to him, but no matter what he's losing 25 health per shot. It's ridiculous. The bleed damage was doing more damage than each .38 round and my pipe rifle was fully upgraded. Once I throw on some ballistic fiber upgraded military clothes, game over. Not incredibly happy with this
  14. edit: I just tried doing it with W.A.T.E.R. and that time the mini menu came up. Perhaps I have to redownload Frostfall to get the menu I'm looking for with Frostfall? I might try some other mods that should have an installation window come up with it when I go to install it.
  15. So I go to install Frostfall since I know this has a mod installation window that allows me to pick and choose how I want the mod installed. Doesn't do it though, it just gives the mod name and a box to check. I specifically recall that mod having me choose several options on how I could customize the mod to my liking and pick out patches for it to work with other mods and such. That seems to have been eliminated in my latest reformat. Now all it does is put the mod name next to a box to check, and comes with any plug ins I may have already picked from my previous installation of it prior to my reformat. What's the deal here? It's not just Frostfall but EVERY MOD in my Library. Did Mod Organizer decide not being able to customize our mods to our liking wasn't worth the effort? This is going to prove to be problematic for me. This has never occured before either, even going back to my Nexus Mod Manager days, when I installed a comprehensive mod, it would provide patches and such for other mods I may have installed that could be picked from a mod menu that came with the mod itself. Is there some file I'm missing to be able to pick these out?
  16. I woke up from yesterday and installed it, haven't done the ini tweaks yet that are required when doing an ENBoost install though. It appears all my troubles with the program stemmed from having Skyrim installed in my external hard drive F:/ drive and not in my C:/ drive. ENBoost is enabled, in the top left corner, I have all the files from the Wrapper version installed, it seems to be working. So it would appear all my troubles stemmed from not having Skyrim installed in the C:/ drive.
  17. Good news so far, I haven't fully tested it out yet, but I moved Skyrim to the C:/ drive (along with my steam folder which also had Company of Heroes 2 and GTA V in it) and Company of Heroes 2 is now working, and I was kinda scared to mess around with Skyrim since it has been spurning me in recent days, but I just threw in the d3d9.dll file to test it out and it's working! ENB isn't working yet as I didn't install all the other files along with it, but the d3d9.dll file in the Skyrim folder just loaded up to main menu with no problems!
  18. Just out of curiosity, I'm also having issues with another game, Company of Heroes 2 at the moment, and Steam recommends I install their folder in the default location, the C:// Drive if I'm having issues. Early into this thread I made it clear that I'm installing my games on an external hardrive, an F:// drive. It says right here on steam: "It is not recommended that you install Steam to an external hard drive due to potential performance issues." Right now I have steam installed on an external hard drive though. Perhaps this could be the root of my problems? What does Skyrim Nexus think? Would suck but perhaps I might have to uninstall my hardrive and bring it with my on vacation whenever I need to go somewhere as opposed to bringing the games with me on an external hard drive. What do you guys think?
  19. Well right now I'm really anxious to play Skyrim. I am a Skyrim addict and haven't played in over a week since the reformat. Here's what I'm going to do, I'm going to download all my mods to mod manager. Hopefully I won't be too close to the 3.1gb threshold but probably will and it will CTD a lot more often than it did, since I run 190 mods and lots of texture packs (I bought 2 GTX 970's specifically so I could run tons of texture mods in Skyrim and not have to worry about lack of GPU power). I'm going to work on this more at a later date. Gopher in a video mentioned a mod that ups the threshold from 3.1 gb to 4.0gb, for someone who can not run ENB without it CTDing anyone have any ideas on this mod that I might try installing? BTW I'm a little worried about Populated Skyrim Civil Wars, since I estimate over 100 NPC's are on the screen at the same time when I run that, do you think if I run into the 3.1 GB threshold that will be when it happens? I have a very powerful PC which was what was recommended by the mod maker, but without ENB installed I'm not entirely sure if it will run correctly now.
  20. This is getting depressing for me. I just tried to install the injector version of ENB, deleted all traces of the wrapper version. I removed d3d9.dll the program that was giving me problems and now it's CTDing even without the problem program installed I followed this video by slothability The only thing I wasn't sure i did right was I'm running an SLI setup. He advocates for people with 8gb of RAM or more (I've got 16gb of RAM), taking your total available graphics memory and subtracting 350 from that number if you're a Windows 7 or Windows 10 user. I looked up that number and according to windows my total available 12226, I subtracted 350 as recommended by his video and put into my enbseries.ini file (or whatever it's called, I know I got it in the correct one, could have been enblocal.ini) 11876. Seemed kind of high number for available graphics memory, even for an SLI setup, I got two GTX 970's but I did as the author of the video recommended and deleted all traces of the Wrapper version and now it just CTD's no matter what I do. I did NOT install M ENB as recommended in the video, I really don't want the graphical ENB mods but could that now be the root of my problems?
  21. ok, i tried this. i have restarted the computer many times Ok I just worked through this problem yesterday as I recently reformatted my PC and had to reset everything on my PC to get Skyrim to work. You need to play around with your screen resolution settings and then make sure your games are set up for that resolution. I have a 3840x2160 monitor, and I even went into the ini file I think it was skyrimpref.ini and manually typed in my screen resolution in the lines provided for height and width for screen resolution and sure enough skyrim fired up immediately. When I checked my skyrimpref.ini the ini file was set up for a resolution that my monitor resolution I was trying to game on was nowhere near which is why I had to manually type them in.
  22. Injector is a ENBSeries tool for walkaround problems with Optimus, XFire, EVGA, D3D Overrider, Afterburn, Steam and other software which prohibit usage of d3d9.dll wrapper (ENBSeries mod). By default it "inject" enbseries.dll in to processes under [TARGETPROCESS] category of enbinjector.ini configuration file. If you have renamed executables of the game, add/replace them to enbinjector.ini. In future all versions of the mod will have support of injector and injectors will have additional features, per game. I got this off the ENB site, says it might be an issue with it being a Steam game. Never had an issue running ENB on Steam before but maybe this is the core of my problems? Anyways again I haven't gotten back to working on the problem as of yet but just thought I'd share this piece of information for anyone facing similar problems to me.
  23. I'll try doing that again, right now I'm not in the mood. Last time I played around with injector version, watching slothability's install video I did everything the video told me to do but there was no evidence ENB was activated in the top left corner when I loaded it up, plus I don't like having to click that program everytime I play Skyrim, but it's surely superior to playing with no ENBoost at all. I dl'd Windows 10 and installed it on my PC and installed the d3d9.dll file in ENB, sure enough it CTD's but as soon as I take that file out the game works fine just with no ENB active in the top left corner on the main menu. Sucks for me because I'd really like get back to working on my character again, I've got over 8 months and lots of play into this character and he's finally getting strong enough to maybe go dungeon delving (he's been in training mode for the past 8 months since I started him, I play on legendary difficulty and enemies have smithed weapons so it makes dying to one or 2 hits a fact of life in Skyrim) It's kind of weird that on my current PC on Windows 8.1 I ran ENBoost for months with no problems but as soon as I reformat that's when problems start to arise.
  24. For now that's what I'm going to do next then is install Windows 10. Im downloading it as I speak but I got very slow internet so this will take some time for a follow up on my situation.
