How far can i go with texture size for paintings

okey thank you ill stick with a maximum of 2048 then good quality and my framerate was fine after testing it -
It looks like most mods use 512 or 1024, now i tried 2048 and it looks like it works perfectly fine, question is will it break my game eventually? also can i use any resolution that fits the aspect ratio? so that way i wont have to lower some of the pictures quality
